Hosea 13
1 While Ephraim was speaking, a horror entered Israel, and he offended by Baal, and he died.
Quando Ephraim falava, tremia-se; foi exalçado em Israel; mas quando se fez culpado em Baal, então morreu.
2 And now they add that they will be sinning more. And they have made themselves an image cast from their silver, just like the image of idols; but the whole thing has been made by craftsmen. These say to them, “Sacrifice men, you who adore calves.”
E agora acumularam pecados sobre pecados, e da sua prata fizeram uma imagem de fundição, ídolos segundo o seu entendimento, que todos são obra de artífices, dos quais dizem: Os homens que sacrificam beijem os bezerros.
3 For this reason, they will be like the morning clouds, and like the morning dew that passes away, just like the dust that is driven by a whirlwind away from the threshing floor, and like the smoke from a chimney.
Por isso serão como a nuvem de manhã, e como orvalho da madrugada, que passa: como folhelho que a tempestade lança da eira, e como o fumo da chaminé.
4 But I am the Lord your God from the land of Egypt, and you will not know God apart from me, and there is no Savior except me.
Eu pois sou o Senhor teu Deus desde a terra do Egito; portanto não reconhecerás outro Deus fora de mim, porque não há Salvador senão eu.
5 I knew you in the desert, in the land of solitude.
Eu te conheci no deserto, na terra mui seca.
6 According to their pastures, they have been filled up and have been satisfied. And they have lifted up their heart, and they have forgotten me.
Depois eles se fartaram à proporção do seu pasto; estando pois fartos, ensoberbeceu-se o seu coração, por isso se esqueceram de mim.
7 And I will be to them like a lioness, like a leopard in the way of the Assyrians.
Portanto serei para eles como leão; como leopardo espiarei no caminho.
8 I will run to meet them like a bear that has been robbed of her young, and I will split open the middle of their liver. And I will devour them there like a lion; the beast of the field will tear them apart.
Como urso que tem perdido seus filhos, os encontrarei, lhes romperei as teias do seu coração, e ali os devorarei como leão; as feras do campo os despedaçarão.
9 Perdition is yours, Israel. Your help is only in me.
Isso te lançou a perder, ó Israel, que te rebelaste contra mim, a saber, contra a tua ajuda.
10 Where is your king? Now, especially, let him save you in all your cities, and from your judges, about whom you said, “Give me kings and princes.”
Onde está agora o teu rei, para que te guarde em todas as tuas cidades? e os teus juízes, dos quais disseste: Dá-me rei e príncipes?
11 I will give you a king in my wrath, and I will take him away in my indignation.
Dei-te um rei na minha ira, e to tirarei no meu furor.
12 The iniquity of Ephraim has been bound; his sin has been engulfed.
A iniquidade de Ephraim está atada, o seu pecado está entesourado.
13 The pains of giving birth will reach him. He is an unwise son. For now he will not remain firm during the contrition of his sons.
Dores de mulher de parto lhe virão: ele é um filho insensato: porque não permanece o seu tempo na paridura.
14 I will free them from the hand of death; from death I will redeem them. Death, I will be your death. Hell, I will be your deadly wound. Consolation is hidden from my eyes. (Sheol h7585)
Eu pois os remirei da violência do inferno, e os resgatarei da morte: onde estão, ó morte, as tuas pestes? onde está ó inferno, a tua perdição? o arrependimento será escondido de meus olhos. (Sheol h7585)
15 For he will make a division among brothers. The Lord will bring a burning wind, rising up from the desert, and it will dry up his streams, and it will make his fountain desolate, and he will tear apart every collection of desirable useful things.
Ainda que ele dê fruto entre os irmãos, virá o vento leste, vento do Senhor, subindo do deserto, e secar-se-á a sua veia, e secar-se-á a sua fonte: ele saqueará o tesouro de todos os vasos desejáveis.
16 Let Samaria perish, because she has urged her God towards bitterness. Let them perish by the sword, let their little ones be thrown down, and let their pregnant women be cut in two.
Samaria virá a ser deserta, porque se rebelou contra o seu Deus: cairão à espada, seus filhos serão despedaçados, e as suas grávidas serão fendidas pelo meio.
