Genesis 10

1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.

Estas pois são as gerações dos filhos de Noé. Sem, Cão, e Japhet; e nasceram-lhe filhos depois do dilúvio.

2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

Os filhos de Japhet, são: Gomer e MaGog, e Madai, e Javan, e Tubal, e Mesech, e Tiras.

3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

E os filhos de Gomer, são: Asquenaz, e Riphath, e Togarmah.

4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

E os filhos de Javan, são: Elishah e Tarshish, Kittim, e Dodanim.

5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.

Por estes foram repartidas as ilhas das nações nas suas terras, cada qual segundo a sua língua, segundo as suas famílias, entre as suas nações.

6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.

E os filhos de Cão, são: Cush, e Mizraim, e Put, e Canaan.

7 And the sons of Cush were Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dadan.

E os filhos de Cush, são: Seba, e Havilah, e Sabtah, e Raamah, e Sabteca: e os filhos de Raamah são, Scheba e Dedan.

8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.

E Cush gerou a Nimrod: este começou a ser poderoso na terra.

9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’

E este foi poderoso caçador diante da face do Senhor: pelo que se diz: Como Nimrod, poderoso caçador diante do Senhor.

10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.

E o princípio do seu reino foi Babel, e Erech, e Accad, e Calneh, na terra de Shinar.

11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,

Desta mesma terra saiu à Assyria e edificou a Nínive, e Rehoboth-Ir e Calah,

12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.

E Resen, entre Niniveh e Calah (esta é a grande cidade).

13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

E Mizraim gerou a Ludim, e a Anamim, e a Leabim, e a Naphtuhim,

14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.

E a Pathrusim, e a Caslushim, (de onde sairam os philisteus) e a Caphtorim.

15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,

E Canaan gerou a Sidon, seu primogênito, e a Heth;

16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,

E ao Jebuseu, e Amorrheu, e Girgaseu,

17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,

E ao Heveu, e ao Arkeu, e ao Sineu,

18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.

E ao Arvadeu, e ao Zemareu, e ao Hamatheu, e depois se espalharam as famílias dos cananeus.

19 And the borders of Canaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.

E foi o termo dos cananeus desde Sidon, indo para Gerar, até Gaza; indo para Sodoma, e Gomorra, e Adamah e Zeboiim, até Lasha.

20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.

Estes são os filhos de Cão segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, em suas terras, em suas nações.

21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.

E a Sem nasceram filhos, e ele é o pai de todos os filhos de Eber, o irmão mais velho de Japhet.

22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

Os filhos de Sem, são: Elam, e Assur, e Arpachshad, e Lud.

23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

E os filhos de Aram são: Uz, e Hul, e Gether, e Mash.

24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.

E Arpachshad gerou a Shelah: e Shelah gerou a Eber.

25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.

E a Eber nasceram dois filhos: o nome dum foi Peleg, porquanto em seus dias se repartiu a terra, e o nome do seu irmão foi Joktan.

26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah

E Joktan gerou a Almodad, e a Sheleph, e a Hazarmaveth, e a Jerah;

27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,

E a Hadoran, e a Uzal, e a Diclah;

28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba

E a Obal, e a Abimael, e a Sheba;

29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

E a Ophir, e a Havila e a Jobab: todos estes foram filhos de Joktan.

30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.

E foi a sua habitação desde Mesha, indo para Sephar, montanha do Oriente.

31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.

Estes são os filhos de Sem segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, nas suas terras, segundo as suas nações.

32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.

Estas são as famílias dos filhos de Noé segundo as suas gerações, nas suas nações: e destes foram divididas as nações na terra depois do dilúvio
