Ephesians 6
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is just.
Filhos, façam o que os seus pais lhes dizem, pois é o certo a se fazer.
2 Honor your father and your mother. This is the first commandment with a promise:
“Respeitem o seu pai e a sua mãe.” Esse é o primeiro mandamento que tem uma promessa, a qual diz:
3 so that it may be well with you, and so that you may have a long life upon the earth.
“Faça isso para que tudo corra bem para você e para que possa viver uma longa vida na terra.”
4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but educate them with the discipline and correction of the Lord.
Pais, não irritem seus filhos, mas cuidem deles, dando disciplina e orientando-os sobre Deus.
5 Servants, be obedient to your lords according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to Christ.
Escravos, obedeçam àqueles que são os seus senhores humanos, com o devido respeito e admiração, e façam tudo com motivação sincera, como se estivessem servindo a Cristo.
6 Do not serve only when seen, as if to please men, but act as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
Não trabalhem bem apenas quando estiverem sendo olhados, para ganharem aprovação. Mas trabalhem como escravos de Cristo, fazendo, de forma honesta, a vontade de Deus,
7 Serve with good will, as to the Lord, and not to men.
servindo alegremente, como se estivessem fazendo suas tarefas para o Senhor, e não para as pessoas.
8 For you know that whatever good each one will do, the same will he receive from the Lord, whether he is servant or free.
Vocês sabem que todo aquele que faz o que é bom será recompensado pelo Senhor, seja essa pessoa um escravo ou alguém livre.
9 And you, lords, act similarly toward them, setting aside threats, knowing that the Lord of both you and them is in heaven. For with him there is no favoritism toward anyone.
Senhores, vocês devem tratar os seus escravos também com respeito. Não os ameacem; lembrem-se de que o Senhor no céu é tanto o senhor deles quanto é o seu senhor, e ele trata as pessoas da mesma maneira, sem favoritismo.
10 Concerning the rest, brothers, be strengthened in the Lord, by the power of his virtue.
E, finalmente, fiquem firmes, unidos ao Senhor e ao seu imenso poder.
11 Be clothed in the armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the treachery of the devil.
Vistam toda a armadura de Deus, para que vocês possam resistir aos ataques do diabo.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the directors of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in high places. (aiōn g165)
Nós não estamos lutando contra forças humanas, mas, sim, contra poderes sobrenaturais, contra os senhores das trevas, que dominam este mundo de escuridão, contra as forças espirituais do mal, que vivem nas alturas. (aiōn g165)
13 Because of this, take up the armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand the evil day and remain perfect in all things.
Peguem todas as armas que Deus lhes dá, para que sejam capazes de se defenderem no dia em que o mal atacar e, depois de lutarem até o fim, possam ainda permanecer firmes!
14 Therefore, stand firm, having been girded about your waist with truth, and having been clothed with the breastplate of justice,
Então, levantem-se! Coloquem o cinto da verdade em volta da cintura, ponham o peitoral da justiça e da razão
15 and having feet which have been shod by the preparation of the Gospel of peace.
e calcem os sapatos da vontade para anunciar o evangelho da paz.
16 In all things, take up the shield of faith, with which you may be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the most wicked one.
Acima de tudo, peguem o escudo da fé em Deus, com o qual vocês serão capazes de se proteger de todas as flechas incendiárias do diabo.
17 And take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God).
Coloquem o capacete da salvação e levem a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus.
18 Through every kind of prayer and supplication, pray at all times in spirit, and so be vigilant with every kind of earnest supplication, for all the saints,
Façam tudo isso orando a Deus e pedindo a ajuda dele. Orem sempre, guiados pelo Espírito Santo. Fiquem alerta e continuem orando por todo o povo de Deus.
19 and also for me, so that words may be given to me, as I open my mouth with faith to make known the mystery of the Gospel,
Também orem por mim, para que eu receba as palavras certas a serem ditas e seja capaz de falar com coragem as verdades escondidas do evangelho.
20 in such a manner that I may dare to speak exactly as I ought to speak. For I act as an ambassador in chains for the Gospel.
Eu sou um embaixador a serviço deste evangelho, embora eu esteja na prisão. Então, por favor, orem para que eu fale, sem medo, como eu devo fazer.
21 Now, so that you also may know the things that concern me and what I am doing, Tychicus, a most beloved brother and a faithful minister in the Lord, will make known everything to you.
Tíquico, nosso querido irmão e fiel companheiro no trabalho do Senhor, lhes dará todas as notícias a meu respeito e lhes explicará tudo, para que vocês possam saber como estou passando.
22 I have sent him to you for this very reason, so that you may know the things that concern us, and so that he may console your hearts.
É por isso que eu o estou enviando a vocês, para que saibam sobre nós e para encorajá-los.
23 Peace to the brothers, and charity with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Que Deus, o Pai, e o Senhor Jesus Cristo deem a todos os irmãos paz e amor, com fé!
24 May grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ, unto incorruption. Amen.
