Ephesians 5
1 Therefore, as most beloved sons, be imitators of God.
Así pues sed imitadores de Dios, como hijos amados;
2 And walk in love, just as Christ also loved us and delivered himself for us, as an oblation and a sacrifice to God, with a fragrance of sweetness.
Y andád en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros por ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios de olor suave.
3 But let not any kind of fornication, or impurity, or rapacity so much as be named among you, just as is worthy of the saints,
Mas la fornicación y toda inmundicia, o avaricia, ni aun se miente entre vosotros, como conviene a santos:
4 nor any indecent, or foolish, or abusive talk, for this is without purpose; but instead, give thanks.
Ni palabras torpes, ni insensatas, ni truhanerías, que no convienen; sino antes hacimientos de gracias.
5 For know and understand this: no one who is a fornicator, or lustful, or rapacious (for these are a kind of service to idols) holds an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Porque ya habéis entendido esto, que ningún fornicario, o inmundo, o avaro, que es un idólatra, tiene herencia en el reino de Cristo, y de Dios.
6 Let no one seduce you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God was sent upon the sons of unbelief.
Nadie os engañe con palabras vanas; porque a causa de estas cosas viene la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de desobediencia.
7 Therefore, do not choose to become participants with them.
No seáis pues participantes con ellos.
8 For you were darkness, in times past, but now you are light, in the Lord. So then, walk as sons of the light.
Porque en otro tiempo eráis tinieblas, mas ahora sois luz en el Señor: andád como hijos de luz;
9 For the fruit of the light is in all goodness and justice and truth,
(Porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, y justicia, y verdad: )
10 affirming what is well-pleasing to God.
Aprobando lo que es agradable al Señor.
11 And so, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead, refute them.
Y no tengáis parte en las obras infrutuosas de las tinieblas; mas antes reprobad las.
12 For the things that are done by them in secret are shameful, even to mention.
Porque lo que estos hacen en oculto, torpe cosa es aun decirlo.
13 But all things that are disputed are made manifest by the light. For all that is made manifest is light.
Mas todas las cosas que son reprobadas, son hechas manifiestas por la luz; porque lo que manifiesta todo, la luz es.
14 Because of this, it is said: “You who are sleeping: awaken, and rise up from the dead, and so shall the Christ enlighten you.”
Por lo cual dice: Despiértate tú que duermes, y levántate de entre los muertos, y te alumbrará Cristo.
15 And so, brothers, see to it that you walk cautiously, not like the foolish,
Mirád, pues, que andéis avisadamente: no como necios, mas como sabios,
16 but like the wise: atoning for this age, because this is an evil time.
Redimiendo el tiempo, porque los días son malos.
17 For this reason, do not choose to be imprudent. Instead, understand what is the will of God.
Por tanto no seáis imprudentes, sino entendidos de cual sea la voluntad del Señor.
18 And do not choose to be inebriated by wine, for this is self-indulgence. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
Y no os emborrachéis con vino, en el cual hay disolución; antes sed llenos del Espíritu;
19 speaking among yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual canticles, singing and reciting psalms to the Lord in your hearts,
Hablando entre vosotros con salmos, y con himnos, y canciones espirituales, cantando y salmeando al Señor en vuestros corazones;
20 giving thanks always for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God the Father.
Dando gracias siempre por todas las cosas a Dios y al Padre en el nombre del Señor nuestro Jesu Cristo.
21 Be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
Sujetándoos los unos a los otros en el temor de Dios.
22 Wives should be submissive to their husbands, as to the Lord.
Las casadas sean sujetas a sus propios maridos, como al Señor.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church. He is the Savior of his body.
Porque el marido es cabeza de la mujer, así como Cristo es cabeza de la iglesia; y él es el Salvador del cuerpo.
24 Therefore, just as the Church is subject to Christ, so also should wives be subject to their husbands in all things.
Como pues la iglesia es sujeta a Cristo, así también las casadas lo sean a sus propios maridos en todo.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and handed himself over for her,
Maridos, amád a vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó a la iglesia, y se entregó a sí mismo por ella,
26 so that he might sanctify her, washing her clean by water and the Word of life,
Para santificarla, limpiándola en el lavamiento del agua por la palabra,
27 so that he might offer her to himself as a glorious Church, not having any spot or wrinkle or any such thing, so that she would be holy and immaculate.
Para que la presentase a sí mismo, iglesia gloriosa, que no tuviese mancha, ni arruga, ni cosa semejante; sino que fuese santa y sin mancha.
28 So, too, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Así han también los maridos de amar a sus mujeres, como a sus mismos cuerpos: el que ama a su mujer, a sí mismo ama.
29 For no man has ever hated his own flesh, but instead he nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ also does to the Church.
Porque ninguno aborreció jamás su propia carne; antes la sustenta y regala, como también el Señor a la iglesia.
30 For we are a part of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.
Porque somos miembros de su cuerpo, de su carne, y de sus huesos.
31 “For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.”
Por causa de esto dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y apegarse ha a su mujer; y los dos serán una misma carne.
32 This is a great Sacrament. And I am speaking in Christ and in the Church.
Este misterio grande es; mas yo hablo en cuanto a Cristo y a la iglesia.
33 Yet truly, each and every one of you should love his wife as himself. And a wife should fear her husband.
Empero vosotros también, cada uno en particular, ame tanto a su propia mujer como a sí mismo; y la mujer, mire que tenga en reverencia a su marido.
