< Ephesians 5 >

1 Therefore, as most beloved sons, be imitators of God.
Ya mere bụrụnụ ndị na-eṅomi Chineke, dị ka ụmụ a hụrụ nʼanya.
2 And walk in love, just as Christ also loved us and delivered himself for us, as an oblation and a sacrifice to God, with a fragrance of sweetness.
Na-agakwanụ nʼime ịhụnanya, dịka Kraịst siri hụ anyị nʼanya ma were ndụ ya nye Chineke maka anyị dịka aja na onyinye nke isi ụtọ.
3 But let not any kind of fornication, or impurity, or rapacity so much as be named among you, just as is worthy of the saints,
Ma nʼetiti unu, ka a ghara ịkpọta mmehie ịkwa iko, maọbụ nke adịghị ọcha, maọbụ nke inwe anya ukwu aha, nʼihi na ihe ndị a ekwesighị nʼetiti ndị nsọ.
4 nor any indecent, or foolish, or abusive talk, for this is without purpose; but instead, give thanks.
Ọ dịkwaghị mma ka unu na-ekwu okwu rụrụ arụ maọbụ okwu nzuzu maọbụ njakịrị, kama ka e nwee inye ekele.
5 For know and understand this: no one who is a fornicator, or lustful, or rapacious (for these are a kind of service to idols) holds an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Matanụ nke ọma na onye na-akwa iko, maọbụ onye rụrụ arụ, maọbụ onye anya ukwu, nʼihi na anya ukwu dị ka ikpere arụsị, enweghị ike ịbata nʼalaeze Kraịst na Chineke.
6 Let no one seduce you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God was sent upon the sons of unbelief.
Unu ekwela ka onye ọbụla jiri okwu efu duhie unu. Ọ bụ nʼihi omume ọjọọ ndị a ka iwe Chineke ji abịakwasị ndị na-anaghị erubere ya isi.
7 Therefore, do not choose to become participants with them.
Unu na ndị dị otu a enwela mmekọ.
8 For you were darkness, in times past, but now you are light, in the Lord. So then, walk as sons of the light.
Nʼihi nʼoge gara aga, unu bụ ọchịchịrị, ma ugbu a, unu bụ ìhè nʼime Onyenwe anyị. Na-ebinụ ndụ ka ụmụ nke ìhè
9 For the fruit of the light is in all goodness and justice and truth,
(nʼihi na a na-ahụ mkpụrụ nke ìhè nʼihe niile dị mma, na ihe ziri ezi, na eziokwu).
10 affirming what is well-pleasing to God.
Gbalịanụ ịchọpụta ihe na-amasị Onyenwe anyị.
11 And so, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead, refute them.
Unu etinyela aka nʼọrụ ọchịchịrị nke na-adịghị amị mkpụrụ ọbụla, kama gbaanụ ha nʼanwụ.
12 For the things that are done by them in secret are shameful, even to mention.
Ọ bụ ihe ihere ikwu okwu banyere ihe ndị a na-eme na nzuzo.
13 But all things that are disputed are made manifest by the light. For all that is made manifest is light.
Mgbe a gbara ihe ọbụla nʼanwụ, ọ na-apụta ìhè nke ọma. Nʼihi na ihe ọbụla e mere ka ọ pụta ìhè nke ọma bụ ìhè.
14 Because of this, it is said: “You who are sleeping: awaken, and rise up from the dead, and so shall the Christ enlighten you.”
Nke a mere na e kwuru, “Bilie gị onye na-arahụ ụra. Site nʼọnwụ bilie. Kraịst ga-emekwa ka ihe ya mụkwasị gị.”
15 And so, brothers, see to it that you walk cautiously, not like the foolish,
Kpachapụnụ anya otu unu si ebi ndụ unu. Unu ebila ndụ dị ka ndị nzuzu, kama bienụ ndụ dị ka ndị maara ihe.
16 but like the wise: atoning for this age, because this is an evil time.
Jirinụ ohere niile unu nwere rụọ ọrụ ọma, nʼihi na ụbọchị ndị a dị njọ.
17 For this reason, do not choose to be imprudent. Instead, understand what is the will of God.
Unu emela dị ka ndị na-enweghị uche, kama gbalịanụ ịchọpụta ihe Onyenwe anyị chọrọ ka unu mee,
18 And do not choose to be inebriated by wine, for this is self-indulgence. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
Unu aṅụbigala mmanya oke nʼihi na ọ na-eduba na ndụ ịla nʼiyi. Kama jupụtanụ na Mmụọ Nsọ,
19 speaking among yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual canticles, singing and reciting psalms to the Lord in your hearts,
werenụ abụ ọma, na abụ nke ime mmụọ na-ekwe ukwe nʼetiti onwe unu. Werekwanụ obi unu niile na-abụrụ Onyenwe anyị abụ dị ụtọ.
20 giving thanks always for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God the Father.
Na-enyenụ Chineke bụ Nna ekele mgbe niile na nʼihe niile, nʼaha Onyenwe anyị Jisọs Kraịst.
21 Be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
Na-edonụ onwe unu nʼokpuru ibe unu site nʼegwu Kraịst.
22 Wives should be submissive to their husbands, as to the Lord.
Unu ndị bụ nwunye, doonụ onwe unu nʼokpuru di unu dị ka unu si doo onwe unu nʼokpuru Onyenwe anyị.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church. He is the Savior of his body.
24 Therefore, just as the Church is subject to Christ, so also should wives be subject to their husbands in all things.
Ya mere, dị ka nzukọ si edo onwe ya nʼokpuru Kraịst, otu a ka ndị bụ nwunye kwesiri ido onwe ha nʼokpuru di ha nʼihe niile.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and handed himself over for her,
Ndị bụ di, hụnụ nwunye unu nʼanya dị ka Kraịst siri hụ nzukọ ya bụ chọọchị nʼanya nwụọ nʼihi ya.
26 so that he might sanctify her, washing her clean by water and the Word of life,
O mere nke a ka o nwee ike doo ya nsọ, jirikwa okwu ya na ịsa mmiri nke baptizim mee ka ọ dị ọcha.
27 so that he might offer her to himself as a glorious Church, not having any spot or wrinkle or any such thing, so that she would be holy and immaculate.
Ka o chee nzukọ nʼihu ya onwe ya dị ka ihe jupụtara nʼebube, nke na-enweghị ntụpọ, maọbụ ihu mgbarụ ma ọ bụkwanụ ihe ọbụla dị otu a. Kama nke dị nsọ na-enweghị ịta ụta.
28 So, too, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no man has ever hated his own flesh, but instead he nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ also does to the Church.
30 For we are a part of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.
31 “For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.”
“Nʼihi nke a ka nwoke ga-eji hapụ nne na nna ya e jikọta ya na nwunye ya. Ha abụọ ga-abụ otu anụ ahụ.”
32 This is a great Sacrament. And I am speaking in Christ and in the Church.
33 Yet truly, each and every one of you should love his wife as himself. And a wife should fear her husband.
Ma otu ọ dị, onye ọbụla nʼime unu aghaghị ịhụ nwunye ya nʼanya dị ka ọ hụrụ onwe ya, nwunye ọbụla aghakwaghị ịsọpụrụ di ya.
