Deuteronomy 6
1 “These are the precepts and ceremonies, as well as the judgments, which the Lord your God has commanded that I teach to you, which you shall do in the land to which you will travel in order to possess it.
നിങ്ങളെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും ഇവയാകുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ യോർദാൻനദികടന്ന്, അവകാശമാക്കാനിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തു വാസം ആരംഭിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളും അതിനുശേഷം അവരുടെ മക്കളും ഈ കൽപ്പനകൾ അനുസരിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ആയുഷ്പര്യന്തം ഭയപ്പെടുകയും വേണം. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തെ ഉത്തരവുകളും കൽപ്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ചാൽ ദീർഘായുസ്സുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.
2 So may you fear the Lord your God, and keep all his commandments and precepts, which I am entrusting to you, and to your sons and grandsons, all the days of your life, so that your days may be prolonged.
3 Listen and observe, O Israel, so that you may do just as the Lord has instructed you, and it may be well with you, and you may be multiplied all the more, for the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you a land flowing with milk and honey.
ഇസ്രായേലേ, കേൾക്ക, നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അഭിവൃദ്ധിയുണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിനും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്തു വളരെയധികമായി വർധിച്ചുവരേണ്ടതിനും, നിങ്ങൾ സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കുക.
4 Listen, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord.
ഇസ്രായേലേ, കേൾക്കുക, യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം, യഹോവ ഏകൻതന്നെ.
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength.
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ സമ്പൂർണഹൃദയത്താലും സമ്പൂർണാത്മാവിനാലും സമ്പൂർണശക്തിയാലും സ്നേഹിക്കണം.
6 And these words, which I instruct to you this day, shall be in your heart.
നിങ്ങളോട് ഇന്നു ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ച്
7 And you shall explain them to your sons. And you shall meditate upon them sitting in your house, and walking on a journey, when lying down and when rising up.
അവ നീ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളോട് വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ഉപദേശിക്കണം. നിങ്ങൾ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും യാത്രചെയ്യുമ്പോഴും കിടക്കുമ്പോഴും എഴുന്നേൽക്കുമ്പോഴും അവയെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കുകയും വേണം.
8 And you shall bind them like a sign on your hand, and they shall be placed and shall move between your eyes.
അവ ഒരു ചിഹ്നമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈയിൽ കെട്ടണം. അവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നെറ്റിയിൽ ഒരു പട്ടമായി ധരിക്കണം.
9 And you shall write them at the threshold and on the doors of your house.
അവ നിങ്ങളുടെ വീടിന്റെ കട്ടിളകളിലും പടിവാതിലുകളിലും ആലേഖനംചെയ്യണം.
10 And when the Lord your God will have led you into the land, about which he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and when he will have given to you great and excellent cities, which you did not build;
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നൽകുമെന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാം, യിസ്ഹാക്ക്, യാക്കോബ് എന്നിവരോടു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്കു നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ പണിതിട്ടില്ലാത്ത വലുതും സമ്പന്നവുമായ പട്ടണങ്ങളും
11 houses full of goods, which you did not amass; cisterns, which you did not dig; vineyards and olive groves, which you did not plant;
നിങ്ങൾ നിറയ്ക്കാതെതന്നെ സകലസമ്പന്നതയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും കുഴിക്കാത്ത കിണറുകളും നട്ടുവളർത്താത്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പുകളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങൾക്കു നൽകും. നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു സംതൃപ്തരാകുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളെ
12 and when you will have eaten and been satisfied:
അടിമവീടായ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മറക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ ജാഗ്രതയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കുക.
13 take care diligently, lest you forget the Lord, who led you away from the land of Egypt, from the house of servitude. You shall fear the Lord your God, and you shall serve him alone, and you shall swear by his name.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടണം; അവിടത്തെമാത്രമേ സേവിക്കാവൂ; അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽമാത്രം ശപഥംചെയ്യണം.
14 You shall not go after the strange gods of all the Gentiles, who are around you.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ച് നിങ്ങളെ ഭൂമുഖത്തുനിന്ന് ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യാതിരിക്കാൻ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ജനതകളുടെ ദേവന്മാരായ അന്യദേവന്മാരുടെ പിന്നാലെ നിങ്ങൾ പോകരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ നടുവിലുള്ള, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.
15 For the Lord your God is a jealous God in your midst. Otherwise, at some time, the fury of the Lord your God may be enraged against you, and he may take you away from the face of the earth.
16 You shall not tempt the Lord your God, as you tempted him in the place of temptation.
നിങ്ങൾ മസ്സായിൽവെച്ചു പരീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുത്.
17 Keep the precepts of the Lord your God, as well as the testimonies and ceremonies, which he has instructed to you.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള കൽപ്പനകളും അവിടന്ന് തന്നിട്ടുള്ള സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ഉത്തരവുകളും നിങ്ങൾ സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ അനുസരിക്കണം.
18 And do what is pleasing and good in the sight of the Lord, so that it may be well with you, and so that, when you enter, you may possess the excellent land, about which the Lord swore to your fathers
നിങ്ങൾ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിനും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു യഹോവ ശപഥത്തോടുകൂടി വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത മനോഹരമായ ഭൂപ്രദേശം ചെന്ന് അവകാശമാക്കേണ്ടതിനും യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുപോലെ ശത്രുക്കളെ എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിക്കേണ്ടതിനും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നീതിയും പ്രസാദവുമുള്ളതു ചെയ്യുക.
19 that he would wipe away all your enemies before you, just as he has spoken.
20 And when your son will ask you tomorrow, saying: ‘What do these testimonies and ceremonies and judgments mean, which the Lord our God has entrusted to us?’
“നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ച സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും എന്തൊക്കെ?” എന്ന് നാളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മകൻ ചോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ
21 You shall say to him: ‘We were servants of Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord led us away from Egypt with a strong hand.
അവനോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയണം: “ഞങ്ങൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ ഫറവോന്റെ അടിമകൾ ആയിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കരംകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിച്ചു.
22 And he wrought signs and wonders, great and very grievous, in Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his house, in our sight.
ഈജിപ്റ്റിന്റെയും ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ സകലകുടുംബത്തിന്റെയുംമേൽ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങൾ കാണത്തക്കവിധം മഹത്തും ഭയാനകവുമായ ചിഹ്നങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
23 And he led us away from that place, so that he might lead us in and give us the land, about which he swore to our fathers.
നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ശപഥത്തോടുകൂടി വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന് ഞങ്ങളെ അവിടെനിന്നും വിടുവിച്ചു.
24 And the Lord instructed us that we should do all these ordinances, and that we should fear the Lord our God, so that it may be well with us all the days of our life, just as it is today.
നാം എപ്പോഴും അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിനും ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിനും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ഈ ഉത്തരവുകളെല്ലാം ആചരിക്കണമെന്നും അവിടത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടണമെന്നും യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
25 And he will be merciful to us, if we keep and perform all his precepts, in the sight of the Lord our God, just as he has commanded us.’”
നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവിടത്തെ ഈ കൽപ്പനകളെല്ലാം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ അനുസരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ നാം അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നീതിയുള്ളവർ ആകും.”
