Deuteronomy 12

1 “These are the precepts and judgments which you must do in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, will give to you, so that you may possess it during all the days that you shall walk upon the soil.

परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई अधिकार गर्न दिनुभएको देशमा तिमीहरू बाँचुञ्‍जेलसम्म तिमीहरूले मान्‍नुपर्ने विधिविधानहरू यिनै हुन् ।

2 Overturn all the places where the nations, which you will possess, worshipped their gods on lofty mountains, and on hills, and under every leafy tree.

जुन जातिहरूलाई तिमीहरूले पराजित गर्छौ तिनीहरूले अग्ला पर्वतहरू, डाँडाहरू र हरेक हरियो रुखमुनि पुजा गर्ने तिनीहरूका देवताहरूलाई निश्‍चय नै नष्‍ट पारिदिनू ।

3 Scatter their altars and break their statues. Burn their sacred groves with fire and crush their idols. Abolish their names from those places.

तिनीहरूका वेदीहरू भत्काइदिनू र तिनीहरूका ढुङ्गाका मूर्तिहरूलाई टुक्राटुक्रा पारिदिनू र तिनीहरूका अशेरा देवीका खम्बाहरू जलाइदिनू । खोपेर बनाइएका तिनीहरूका देवताका मूर्तिहरू काटिदिनू र त्यस ठाउँबाट तिनीहरूका नाउँ मेटिदिनू ।

4 But you shall not do the same to the Lord your God.

तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरलाई त्यसरी आराधना नगर्नू ।

5 Instead, you shall approach the place which the Lord your God will choose among all your tribes, so that he may set his name there, and may dwell in that place.

तर जुन ठाउँ परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले आफ्नो नाउँ राख्‍न तिमीहरूका सबै कुलबाट चुन्‍नुहुन्छ त्यही नै त्यो ठाउँ हुने छ जहाँ तिमीहरू बस्छौ र त्यहीँ नै तिमीहरू जाने छौ ।

6 And you shall offer, in that place, your holocausts and victims, the tithes and first-fruits of your hands, and your vows and gifts, the firstborn of the cattle and of the sheep.

त्यहीँ नै तिमीहरूले आफ्ना होमबलि, भेटी, दशांश, तिमीहरूका हातका भेटी, भाकलका भेटी, स्वैच्छिक भेटी र तिमीहरूका गाईवस्तु र भेडा-बाख्राका पहिले जन्मेकाहरूलाई ल्याउने छौ ।

7 And you shall eat it there, in the sight of the Lord your God. And you shall rejoice in all the things to which you shall set your hand: you and your household, which the Lord your God has blessed for you.

त्यहीँ नै तिमीहरू परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको सामु खाने छौ र तिमीहरू र तिमीहरूका घरानाहरूले हात लगाएका हरेक कुराको बारेमा आनन्द मनाउने छौ जहाँ परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई आशिष् दिनुभएको छ ।

8 You shall not do there the things that we are doing here today: each one doing what seems good to himself.

आज यहाँ हामीले गरिरहेका कुनै पनि कुरा नगर्नू । अहिले हरेकलाई आफ्नो दृष्‍टिमा जे ठिक लाग्छ, त्यसले त्यही गरिरहेको छ ।

9 For even until the present time, you did not arrive at the rest and the possession, which the Lord your God will give to you.

किनकि तिमीहरू अझै पनि विश्राम अर्थात् परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुहुने उत्तराधिकारमा आएका छैनौ ।

10 You shall cross over the Jordan, and you shall live in the land which the Lord your God will give to you, so that you may have rest from all the surrounding enemies, and so that you may live without any fear,

तर जब तिमीहरू यर्दन पारी जान्छौ र परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई सम्पत्तिको रूपमा दिनुहुने देशमा बस्छौ तब उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई तिमीहरूका चारैतिर भएका सबै शत्रुबाट विश्राम दिनुहुने छ ताकि तिमीहरू सुरक्षितसाथ बस्‍न सक ।

11 in the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be in it. To that place, you shall bring all the things that I instruct you: holocausts, and victims, and tithes, and the first-fruits of your hands, and whatever is best among the gifts that you shall vow to the Lord.

अनि जुन ठाउँमा परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले आफ्नो नाउँ राख्‍न छान्‍नुहुन्छ त्यहीँ नै मैले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा दिने हरेक थोक ल्याओ अर्थात् तिमीहरूका होमबलि, भेटी, दशांश र तिमीहरूका हातका भेटी, परमप्रभुको निम्ति तिमीहरूले चढाउने भाकलका सबै स्वैच्छिक भेटी ल्याओ ।

12 In that place, you shall feast before the Lord your God: you, and your sons and daughters, your men and women servants, as well as the Levite who dwells in your cities. For he has no other portion or possession among you.

तिमीहरू, तिमीहरूका छोराहरू, तिमीहरूका छोरीहरू, तिमीहरूका कमारा-कमारीहरू र तिमीहरूका सहरभित्र हुने लेवीहरू परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको सामु रमाउने छौ । तिमीहरूका बिचमा बस्‍ने लेवीहरूसित कुनै हिस्सा वा सम्पत्ति हुँदैन ।

13 Take care that you do not offer your holocausts in any place that you see.

तिमीहरूका होमबलिहरू तिमीहरूले देख्‍ने हरेक ठाउँमा नचढाउन होसियार बस ।

14 Instead, you shall offer sacrifices in the place which the Lord will choose within one of your tribes, and you shall do whatsoever I instruct you.

तर परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूका कुलबाट छान्‍नुहुने एउटा ठाउँमा तिमीहरूले आफ्ना होमबलिहरू चढाउनू र त्यहीँ नै मैले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेका हरेक कुरा गर्नू ।

15 So, if you wish to eat, and if the eating of flesh pleases you, then kill and eat according to the blessing of the Lord your God, which he has given to you, in your cities: you may eat it whether it is unclean, that is, having blemish or defect, or whether it is clean, that is, whole and without blemish, of the kind which is permitted to be offered, such as the roe deer and the stag.

तथापि, परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुभएको आशिष्‌लाई स्वीकार गरी तिमीहरूलाई इच्छा लागेअनुसार तिमीहरूका सहरहरूभित्र तिमीहरूले पशु मारेर खान सक्छौ । हरिण र मृगजस्ता प्राणीका मासुहरू शुद्ध र अशुद्ध दुवै थरीका मानिसहरूले खान सक्छन् ।

16 Only the blood you shall not eat. Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water.

तर तिमीहरूले रगतचाहिँ नखाओ । यसलाई पानीझैँ भुइँमा पोखाइदेओ ।

17 You may not eat in your towns the tithes of your crops, and your wine and oil, the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, nor anything which you will vow, or which you will offer spontaneously, nor the first-fruits of your hands.

तिमीहरूको अन्‍न, नयाँ मद्य, तेल, गाईवस्तु वा भेडा-बाख्राका पहिले जन्मेकाहरूको दशांश तिमीहरूले सहरहरूभित्र खानुहुँदैन । तिमीहरूले गर्ने भाकलसँगै चढाउने कुनै पनि बलिदानको मासु नखाओ न त स्वैच्छिक भेटी वा तिमीहरूका हातले चढाउने भेटीबाट खाओ ।

18 But you shall eat these before the Lord your God, in the place which the Lord your God will choose: you, and your son, and your daughter, and your man servant and woman servant, and the Levite who dwells in your cities. And you shall rejoice and be refreshed in the sight of the Lord your God by all the things to which you will extend your hand.

बरु, तिमी, तिम्रा छोराछोरी, तिम्रा कमारा-कमारी र तिम्रा सहरहरूभित्र बस्‍ने लेवीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले छन्‍नुहुने ठाउँमा तिनलाई खानू । तिमीहरूले हात लगाउने हरेक कुराको बारेमा तिमीहरू परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको सामु रमाउने छौ ।

19 Be careful, lest you abandon the Levite, at any time while you are living in the land.

तिमीहरू आफ्नो देशमा बसुञ्‍जेलसम्म लेवीहरूलाई नभुल्नमा ध्यान देओ ।

20 When the Lord your God will have enlarged your borders, just as he has spoken to you, and when you would eat the flesh that your soul desires,

परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएबमोजिम उहाँले तिमीहरूका सिमानाहरू बढाउनुहुँदा मासु खाने तिमीहरूको इच्छाको कारणले तिमीहरूले 'म मासु खाने छु' भन्दा तिमीहरूले इच्छा लागेअनुसार खान सक्छौ ।

21 but if the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be there, is far away, you may kill, from your herds and your flocks which you will have, in the manner I have instructed to you, and you may eat in your towns, as it pleases you.

परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले आफ्नो नाउँ राख्‍न छान्‍नुहुने ठाउँ तिमीहरूबाट ज्यादै टाढा भयो भने मैले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा दिएअनुसार परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुभएका गाईवस्तु र भेडा-बाख्राबाट केहीलाई मार्नू, र तिमीहरूको मनले इच्छा गरेअनुसार तिमीहरूले आफ्ना सहरहरूभित्र तिनलाई खान सक्छौ ।

22 Just as the roe deer and the stag may be eaten, so also may you eat these: you may eat both the clean and the unclean alike.

तिमीहरूले हरिण र मृगलाई खाएझैँ तिनीहरूलाई खान सक्छौ । अशुद्ध र शुद्ध मानिसहरूले समान रूपमा खान सक्छन् ।

23 Only beware of this: you may not eat the blood. For their blood is for the soul. And because of this, you must not eat the soul with the flesh.

केवल रगत नखाने कुरामा निश्‍चित होओ किनकि रगत जीवन हो । मासुसँगै जीवन नखाओ ।

24 Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water,

तिमीहरूले रगत नखाओ । यसलाई पानीलाई झैँ भुइँमा खन्याइदिनू ।

25 so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, when you will do what is pleasing in the sight of the Lord.

तिमीहरूले रगत नखाओ । तिमीहरूले परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा जे ठिक छ त्यो गर्‍यौ भने तिमीहरू र तिमीहरूका छोराछोरीहरूको भलो हुने छ ।

26 But the things that you have sanctified and vowed to the Lord, you shall take up and bring to the place which the Lord will choose.

तर तिमीहरूसित भएका थोकहरू र भाकलका भेटीहरू जुन परमप्रभुका हुन्, ती लिएर परमप्रभुले छान्‍नुहुने ठाउँमा जाओ ।

27 And you shall offer your oblations of flesh and of blood upon the altar of the Lord your God. You shall poor out the blood of your victims upon the altar. And you yourself shall eat the flesh.

त्यहाँ परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको वेदीमा तिमीहरूले होमबलिसाथै मासु र रगत चढाओ । तिमीहरूका बलिदानको रगत परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको वेदीमा खन्याऊ र मासुचाहिँ तिमीहरूले खाओ ।

28 Observe and heed all the things that I instruct to you, so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, continually, when you will do what is good and pleasing in the sight of the Lord your God.

मैले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेका यी सबै वचनलाई ध्यान दिएर पालन गर ताकि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको दृष्‍टिमा तिमीहरूले जे ठिक र असल छ त्यही गर्दा तिमीहरू र तिमीहरूका छोराछोरीहरूको सदैव भलो होस् ।

29 When the Lord your God will have abolished before your face the nations, which you shall enter so as to possess them, and when you will possess them and live in their land,

परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूका सामु ती जातिहरूलाई निष्कासन गर्नुहँदा तिमीहरू त्यहाँ गई तिनीहरूलाई पराजित गर्ने छौ र तिनीहरूको देशमा बस्‍ने छौ ।

30 be careful that you do not imitate them, after they have been overturned at your arrival, and that you do not seek their ceremonies, saying: ‘Just as these nations have worshipped their gods, so also will I worship.’

होसियार बस, कि तिमीहरूका सामु तिनीहरू नष्‍ट गरिएपछि तिनीहरूलाई पछ्याउने पासोमा नपर्नू । 'यी जातिहरूले कसरी तिनीहरूका देवताहरूको पुजा गर्छन् म पनि त्यस्तै गर्ने छु' भन्दै तिनीहरूका देवताहरूको चासो लिने पासोमा नपर्नू ।

31 You shall not act in like manner toward the Lord your God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations that the Lord spurns, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.

तिमीहरूले त्यसरी परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको आराधना नगर्नू किनकि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना देवताहरूलाई परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा घृणित हरेक कुरो र उहाँले घृणा गर्ने कुराहरू गरेका छन् । तिनीहरूले आफ्ना छोराछोरीहरू आफ्ना देवताहरूका निम्ति आगोमा होम दिन्छन् ।

32 What I command to you, this only shall you do, for the Lord. You may neither add nor subtract anything.”

मैले जे-जे आज्ञा दिन्छु, त्यसको पालन गर । यसमा नथप न त यसबाट हटाउने काम गर ।
