2 Timothy 2

1 And as for you, my son, be strengthened by the grace which is in Christ Jesus,

എന്റെ മകനേ, നീ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള കൃപയിൽ ശക്തിപ്പെടുക.

2 and by the things which you have heard from me through many witnesses. These things encourage faithful men, who shall then be suitable to teach others also.

അനേകം സാക്ഷികളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ നീ എന്നിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ടതെല്ലാം, മറ്റുള്ളവരെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കാൻ യോഗ്യത നേടിയ വിശ്വസ്തരായ ആളുകളെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിക്കുക.

3 Labor like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ ഒരു നല്ല സൈനികനെപ്പോലെ നീയും എന്നോടൊപ്പം കഷ്ടതയിൽ പങ്കുചേരുക.

4 No man, acting as a soldier for God, entangles himself in worldly matters, so that he may be pleasing to him for whom he has proven himself.

സൈനികസേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളും സൈനികേതര കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല; കാരണം, അയാളുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം സൈന്യത്തിൽ തന്നെ ചേർത്തയാളിനെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നതാണ്.

5 Then, too, whoever strives in a competition is not crowned, unless he has competed lawfully.

കായികമത്സരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരാൾ നിയമപ്രകാരം മത്സരിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അയാൾക്കു വിജയകിരീടം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല.

6 The farmer who labors ought to be the first to share in the produce.

കഠിനാധ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന കർഷകനാണ് ആദ്യം വിളവിന്റെ പങ്ക് എടുക്കേണ്ടത്.

7 Understand what I am saying. For the Lord will give you understanding in all things.

ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് ചിന്തിക്കുക; കർത്താവ് സകലകാര്യത്തിലും നിനക്കു വിവേകം നൽകും.

8 Be mindful that the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the offspring of David, has risen again from the dead, according to my Gospel.

ഞാൻ എന്റെ സുവിശേഷപ്രഘോഷണത്തിൽ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ദാവീദിന്റെ വംശജനും മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റവനുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെ ഓർക്കുക.

9 I labor in this Gospel, even while chained like an evildoer. But the Word of God is not bound.

ഈ സുവിശേഷത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയാണ് ഒരു കുറ്റവാളിയെപ്പോലെ ബന്ധനം സഹിച്ചും ഞാൻ കഷ്ടത അനുഭവിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ, ദൈവവചനത്തിനു ബന്ധനമില്ല.

10 I endure all things for this reason: for the sake of the elect, so that they, too, may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with heavenly glory. (aiōnios g166)

അതുകൊണ്ടു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള രക്ഷയും നിത്യമഹത്ത്വവും തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവർക്കു ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ എല്ലാം സഹിക്കുന്നു. (aiōnios g166)

11 It is a faithful saying: that if we have died with him, we will also live with him.

ഇത് വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമായ തിരുവചനമല്ലോ: നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ മരിച്ചാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കും;

12 If we suffer, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.

കഷ്ടത സഹിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവിടത്തെ ഭരണത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകും. അവിടത്തെ നിരാകരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവിടന്നു നമ്മെയും നിരാകരിക്കും.

13 If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful: he is not able to deny himself.

നാം വിശ്വാസവിഹീനരായിത്തീർന്നാലും അവിടന്ന് വിശ്വസ്തനായിത്തന്നെ തുടരും; തന്റെ സ്വഭാവം ത്യജിക്കുക അവിടത്തേക്കു സാധ്യമല്ലല്ലോ!

14 Insist on these things, testifying before the Lord. Do not be contentious about words, for this is useful for nothing but the subversion of listeners.

നിഷ്‌പ്രയോജനവും ശ്രോതാക്കൾക്ക് നാശം വിതയ്ക്കുന്നതുമായ വാഗ്വാദങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടരുതെന്ന് ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീ അവരെ അനുസ്മരിപ്പിച്ച് കർശനമായി ഉദ്ബോധിപ്പിക്കുക.

15 Be solicitous in the task of presenting yourself before God as a proven and unashamed worker who has handled the Word of Truth correctly.

“ലജ്ജിക്കാൻ ഇടവരാത്തവനും സത്യവചനം നേരായി വിഭജിക്കുന്നവനും” എന്ന ദൈവിക അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ച ഒരു പ്രവർത്തകനായി തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നെത്തന്നെ സമർപ്പിക്കാൻ യത്നിക്കുക.

16 But avoid profane or empty talk. For these things advance one greatly in impiety.

ഭക്തിവിരുദ്ധമായ വ്യർഥഭാഷണം വർജിക്കുക; അവ നമ്മെ അധികം ഭക്തിരാഹിത്യത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുകയേയുള്ളു.

17 And their word spreads like a cancer: among these are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

ഇത്തരം ഭാഷണം കാർന്നുതിന്നുന്ന വ്രണംപോലെ വ്യാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. ഹുമനയൊസും ഫിലേത്തോസും ഇത്തരക്കാരാണ്.

18 who have fallen away from the truth by saying that the resurrection is already complete. And so they have subverted the faith of certain persons.

അവർ സത്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് വ്യതിചലിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; “പുനരുത്ഥാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവർ ചിലരുടെ വിശ്വാസം തകിടംമറിക്കുന്നു.

19 But the firm foundation of God remains standing, having this seal: the Lord knows those who are his own, and all who know the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.

എന്നാൽ, “കർത്താവ് തനിക്കുള്ളവരെ അറിയുന്നു” എന്നും “കർത്താവിനെ സ്വീകരിച്ചവരെല്ലാം അധർമത്തിൽനിന്ന് അകന്നുകൊള്ളണം” എന്നും മുദ്രണം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സുസ്ഥിരമായ ദൈവിക അടിസ്ഥാനം അചഞ്ചലംതന്നെ.

20 But, in a large house, there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also those of wood and of clay; and certainly some are held in honor, but others in dishonor.

ഒരു വലിയ ഭവനത്തിൽ സ്വർണവും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള പാത്രങ്ങൾമാത്രമല്ല മരവും കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടുള്ളവയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; ചില പാത്രങ്ങൾ സവിശേഷമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും വേറെ ചിലതു സാമാന്യമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും.

21 If anyone, then, will have cleansed himself from these things, he shall be a vessel held in honor, sanctified and useful to the Lord, prepared for every good work.

സാമാന്യമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് സ്വയം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നയാൾ സവിശേഷമായ ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള പാത്രമായി സമർപ്പിതമായി, സകലസൽപ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും സജ്ജമായി യജമാനന് പ്രയോജനമുള്ള ആളായിത്തീരും.

22 So then, flee from the desires of your youth, yet truly, pursue justice, faith, hope, charity, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.

യുവസഹജമായ ആസക്തികൾ വിട്ട് പലായനംചെയ്യുക. നിർമലഹൃദയത്തോടെ കർത്താവിനെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടുംചേർന്ന് ധാർമികത, വിശ്വാസം, സ്നേഹം, സമാധാനം എന്നിവ അനുഗമിക്കുക.

23 But avoid foolish and undisciplined questions, for you know that these produce strife.

മൗഢ്യവും ബാലിശവുമായ വാദപ്രതിവാദങ്ങൾ സംഘട്ടനങ്ങൾക്ക് വഴിതെളിക്കും എന്നറിഞ്ഞ് അവ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക.

24 For the servant of the Lord must not be contentious, but instead he must be meek toward everyone, teachable, patient,

കർത്താവിന്റെ ദാസൻ സംഘട്ടനങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടാതെ എല്ലാവരോടും സൗമ്യമായി പെരുമാറുന്നവനും അധ്യാപനത്തിൽ നൈപുണ്യമുള്ളവനും ക്ഷമാശീലനും ആയിരിക്കണം.

25 correcting with self-restraint those who resist the truth. For at any time God may give them repentance, so as to recognize the truth,

ശത്രുക്കൾക്ക് സത്യം സുവ്യക്തമാകുംവിധം ദൈവം അവർക്ക് മാനസാന്തരം നൽകിയേക്കാം എന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെ, സൗമ്യമായി ബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.

26 and then they may recover from the snares of the devil, by whom they are held captive at his will.

തൽഫലമായി, പിശാച് തന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിറവേറ്റാൻ അടിമകളാക്കി വെച്ചിട്ടുള്ളവർ, അവന്റെ കെണിയിൽനിന്ന് സ്വതന്ത്രരായി സുബോധത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവരും.
