2 Kings 14
1 In the second year of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the king of Israel: Amaziah, the son of Jehoash, reigned as king of Judah.
इस्राएलका राजा यहोआहाजको छोरा यहोआशको दोस्रो वर्षमा यहूदाका राजा योआशका छोरा अमस्याहले राज्य गर्न थाले ।
2 He was twenty-five years old when he had begun to reign. And he reigned for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Jehoaddin from Jerusalem.
तिनले राज्य गर्न सुरु गर्दा तिनी पच्चिस वर्षका थिए । तिनले यरूशलेममा उनन्तिस वर्ष राज्य गरे । तिनकी आमाको नाउँ यहोअदीन थियो जो यरूशलेमकी थिइन् ।
3 And he did what is right before the Lord, yet truly, not like David, his father. He acted in accord with all the things that his father Jehoash did,
परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा जे ठिक थियो, तिनले त्यही गरे, तापनि तिनका पुर्खा दाऊदले गरेझैँ भने होइन । आफ्ना पिता योआशले गरेका हरेक काम तिनले गरे ।
4 except for this alone: he did not take away the high places. For still the people were immolating, and burning incense, in the high places.
तर डाँडाका थानहरू हटाइएनन् । मानिसहरूले अझै पनि डाँडाका थानहरूमा बलि चढाए र धूप बाले ।
5 And when he had obtained the kingdom, he struck down those of his servants who had killed his father, the king.
तिनको शासन सुदृढ हुनेबित्तिकै आफ्ना पिताको अर्थात् राजाको हत्या गर्ने सेवकहरूलाई तिनले मारे ।
6 But the sons of those who had been killed he did not put to death, in accord with what was written in the book of the law of Moses, just as the Lord instructed, saying: “The fathers shall not die for the sons, and the sons shall not die for the fathers. Instead, each one shall die for his own sin.”
तापनि तिनले हत्याराहरूका छोराहरूलाई भने मारेनन् । बरु, तिनले मोशाको व्यवस्थामा लेखिएअनुसार काम गरे, जस्तो परमप्रभुले यसो भनेर आज्ञा दिनुभएको थियो, “बुबाहरूलाई छोराछोरीका कारणले अनि छोराछोरीलाई बुबाहरूका कारणले मार्नुहुँदैन । बरु, हरेक व्यक्तिलाईउसको आफ्नै पापको कारणले मार्नुपर्छ ।”
7 He struck down ten thousand men of Idumea, in the Valley of the Salt Pits. And he captured ‘the Rock’ in battle, and he called its name ‘Subdued by God,’ even to the present day.
नुनको उपत्यकामा एदोमका दस हजार सिपाहीलाई तिनले मारे । तिनले युद्धमा सेलालाई जिते त्यसको नाउँ योक्तेल राखे जसको नाउँ आजको दिनसम्म पनि त्यही छ ।
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, the king of Israel, saying: “Come, and let us see one another.”
तब अमस्याहले इस्राएलका राजा येहूका नाति, यहोआहाजका छोरा यहोआशकहाँ यसो भनी सन्देशवाहकहरू पठाए, “आउनुहोस्, हामी युद्धमा एक-अर्कालाई आमनेसामने भेटौँ ।”
9 And Joash, the king of Israel, sent a reply to Amaziah, the king of Judah, saying: “A thistle of Lebanon sent to a cedar, which is in Lebanon, saying: ‘Give your daughter as wife to my son.’ And the beasts of the forest, which are in Lebanon, passed by and trampled the thistle.
तर इस्राएलका राजा यहोआशले यहूदाका राजा अमस्याहलाई यसो भनी सन्देशवाहकहरू पठाए, “लेबनानको एउटा सिउँडीले लेबनानकै एउटा देवदारुलाई यसो भनेर सन्देश पठायो, 'तिम्री छोरी मेरा छोरासित विवाह गरिदेऊ ।' तर लेबनानमा भएको जङ्गली जनावर त्यताबाट हिंड्यो र सिउँडीलाई कुल्च्यो ।
10 You have struck and prevailed over Idumea. And your heart has lifted you up. Be content with your own glory, and be seated in your own house. Why would you provoke evil, so that you would fall, and Judah with you?”
तिमीले साँच्चै एदोमलाई आक्रमण गर्यौ, र तिम्रो शेखी बढेको छ । आफ्नो विजयमा गर्व गर, तर घरमै बस किनकि तिमीले किन आफैलाई सङ्कष्टमा पार्ने अनि तिमी र यहूदा पनि दुवै किन पतन हुने?”
11 But Amaziah was not quieted. And so Joash, the king of Israel, went up. And he and Amaziah, the king of Judah, saw one another at Beth-shemesh, a town in Judah.
तर अमस्याहले यो कुरा सुनेनन् । त्यसैले इस्राएलका राजा यहोआशले आक्रमण गरे, अनि तिनी र यहूदाका राजा अमस्याह यहूदाको बेथ-शेमेशमा एक-अर्कासित आमनेसामने भेटे ।
12 And Judah was struck down before Israel, and they fled, each to their own tents.
इस्राएलद्वारा यहूदा पराजित भयो, र हरेक मानिस घर भाग्यो ।
13 And truly, Joash, the king of Israel, captured Amaziah, the king of Judah, the son of Jehoash, the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh. And he brought him to Jerusalem. And he breached the wall of Jerusalem, from the gate of Ephraim as far as the gate of the Corner, four hundred cubits.
बेथ-शेमेशमा इस्राएलका राजा यहोआशले अहज्याहका नाति, योआशका छोरा यहूदाका राजा अमस्याहलाई समाते । तिनी यरूशलेममा आए र तिनले एफ्राइमको ढोकादेखि कुने ढोकासम्म लगभग दुई सय मिटर लामो यरूशलेमको पर्खाल भत्काइदिए ।
14 And he took away all the gold and silver, and all the vessels, which were found in the house of the Lord and in the treasuries of the king, and he returned to Samaria with hostages.
तिनले परमप्रभुको मन्दिरमा भेट्टाइएका सबै सुन र राजदरबारका मुल्यवान् थोकहरूका साथमा केही बन्दीहरूलाई समेत लगे र सामरिया फर्के ।
15 But the rest of the words of Joash, which he accomplished, and his strength, with which he fought against Amaziah, the king of Judah, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
यहोआश, तिनले गरेका सबै काम, तिनको शक्ति र कसरी तिनले यहूदाका राजा अमस्याहसित लडे भन्ने बारेमा इस्राएलका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छैनन् र?
16 And Joash slept with his fathers, and he was buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel. And Jeroboam, his son, reigned in his place.
तब यहोआश आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसित सुते, र इस्राएलका राजाहरूसँगै सामरियाम गाडिए, अनि तिनको ठाउँमा तिनका छोरा यारोबाम राजा भए ।
17 Now Amaziah, the son of Jehoash, the king of Judah, lived for fifteen years after the death of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the king of Israel.
इस्राएलका राजा यहोआहाजका छोरा येहोआशको मृत्युपछि यहूदाका राजा योआशका छोरा अमस्याह पन्ध्र वर्ष बाँचे ।
18 And the rest of the words of Amaziah, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?
अमस्याहका विषयमाभएका अन्य कुराहरूका बारेमा यहूदाका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छैनन् र?
19 And they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem. And he fled to Lachish. And they sent after him, to Lachish, and they killed him there.
तिनीहरूले यरूशलेममा अमस्याहको विरुद्धमा षड्यन्त्र रचे र तिनी लाकीशमा भागे । तिनी लाकीशमा भागे तर तिनीहरूले तिनको पिछा गर्न लाकीशमा मानिसहरू पठाए, र तिनलाई त्यहीँ मारे ।
20 And they carried him away on horses. And he was buried in Jerusalem with his fathers, in the city of David.
तिनीहरूको तिनको लाशलाई घोडाहरूमा राखेर ल्याए र दाऊदको सहरमा तिनी आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसितै गाडिए ।
21 Then all the people of Judah took Azariah, at sixteen years from birth, and they appointed him as king in place of his father, Amaziah.
यहूदाका सारा मानिसले सोह्र वर्षका अजर्याहलाई लिए र तिनलाई आफ्ना पिता अमस्याहको ठाउँमा राजा बनाए ।
22 He built up Elath, and he restored it to Judah, after which the king slept with his fathers.
राजा अमस्याह आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसित सुतेपछि अजर्याहले नै एलात सहरलाई पुनर्निर्माण गरे र त्यसलाई यहूदामा फिर्ता दिए ।
23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah, the son of Jehoash, the king of Judah: Jeroboam, the son of Joash, the king of Israel, reigned, in Samaria, for forty-one years.
यहूदाका राजा योआशका छोरा अमस्याहको पन्ध्रौँ वर्षमा इस्राएलका राजा येहोआशका छोरा यारोबामले सामरियामा राज्य गर्न थाले । तिनले एकचालिस वर्ष राज्य गरे ।
24 And he did what is evil before the Lord. He did not withdraw from all the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.
परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा जे खराब थियो, तिनले त्यही गरे । इस्राएललाई पाप गर्न लगाउने नबातका छोरा यारोबामको कुनै पनि पापबाट तिनी फर्केनन् ।
25 He restored the borders of Israel, from the entrance of Hamath as far as the Sea of the Wilderness, in accord with the word of the Lord, the God of Israel, which he spoke through his servant, the prophet Jonah, the son of Amittai, who was from Gath, which is in Hepher.
इस्राएलका परमप्रभु परमेश्वरले आफ्ना सेवक गात-हेपेरका अमित्तैका छोरा योना अगमवक्ताद्वारा बोल्नुभएको वचनअनुसार लेबोहमातदेखि अराबाको समुद्रसम्म इस्राएलका सिमानालाई तिनले पुनर्स्थापित गरे ।
26 For the Lord saw the exceedingly bitter affliction of Israel, and that they were being consumed, even to those who were enclosed in prison, and even to the least ones, and that there was no one who would help Israel.
किनकि फुक्का र स्वतन्त्र हरेक इस्राएलीले कष्ट भोगिरहेको परमप्रभुले देख्नुभयो, र इस्राएलको लागि कुनै उद्धारक थिएन ।
27 But the Lord did not say that he would wipe away the name of Israel from under heaven. So instead, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam, the son of Joash.
त्यसैले आकाशमुनि इस्राएलको नाउँ परमप्रभुले मेट्नुहुनेछैन भनी उहाँले भन्नुभयो । बरु उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई येहोआशका छोरा यारोबामको हातबाट बचाउनुभयो ।
28 But the rest of the words of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his strength, with which he went to battle, and the manner in which he restored Damascus and Hamath to Judah, in Israel, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
यारोबाम, तिनले गरेका सबै काम, तिनको शक्ति, कसरी तिनले युद्ध गरे र यहूदाको अधीनमा रहेका दमस्कस र हमातलाई इस्राएललाई फिर्ता गराए भन्ने बारेमा इस्राएलका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छैनन् र?
29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, the kings of Israel. And Zechariah, his son, reigned in his place.
यारोबाम आफ्ना पुर्खाहरू इस्राएलका राजाहरूसित सुते, र तिनको ठाउँमा तिनका छोरा जकरिया राजा भए ।
