2 Chronicles 9
1 Also, when the queen of Sheba had heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem, with great riches and with camels which were carrying aromatics, and very much gold, and precious gems, so that she might test him with enigmas. And when she had approached Solomon, she spoke to him all that was in her heart.
Y la reina de Sabá oyendo la fama de Salomón, vino a Jerusalem para tentar a Salomón con preguntas oscuras, con un muy grande ejército, con camellos cargados de olores, y oro en abundancia, y piedras preciosas. Y luego que vino a Salomón, habló con él todo lo que tenía en su corazón.
2 And Solomon explained for her all that she had proposed. And there was nothing that he did not make clear to her.
Y Salomón le declaró todas sus palabras: ninguna cosa quedó que Salomón no le declarase.
3 And after she saw these things, specifically, the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built,
Y viendo la reina de Sabá la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,
4 indeed also the foods of his table, and the habitations of the servants, and the duties of his ministers, and their apparel, and also his cupbearers and their garments, and the victims which he was immolating in the house of the Lord, there was no longer any spirit in her, due to astonishment.
Y las viandas de su mesa, y el asiento de sus siervos, y el estado de sus criados, y los vestidos de ellos, sus maestresalas y sus vestidos, y su subida por donde subía a la casa de Jehová, no quedó más espíritu en ella;
5 And she said to the king: “The word is true, which I had heard in my own land, about your virtues and wisdom.
Y dijo al rey: Verdad es lo que he oído en mi tierra de tus cosas, y de tu sabiduría:
6 I did not believe those who described it, until I had arrived and my eyes had seen, and I had proven that not even half of your wisdom had been described to me. You have exceeded your fame with your virtue.
Mas yo no creía las palabras de ellos, hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto; y he aquí que ni aun la mitad de la multitud de tu sabiduría me había sido dicha: porque tú añades sobre la fama que yo había oído.
7 Blessed are your men, and blessed are your servants, who stand before you at all times and listen to your wisdom.
Bienaventurados tus varones, y bienaventurados estos tus siervos, que están siempre delante de ti, y oyen tu sabiduría.
8 Blessed is the Lord your God, who willed to set you upon his throne as a king for the Lord your God. Since God loves Israel, he wishes to preserve them unto eternity. For this reason, he appointed you as king over them, so that you may accomplish judgment and justice.”
Jehová tu Dios sea bendito, que se ha agradado en ti, para ponerte sobre su trono por rey de Jehová tu Dios: por cuanto tu Dios ha amado a Israel, para afirmarle perpetuamente, y te puso por rey sobre ellos para que hagas juicio y justicia.
9 Then she gave to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and an exceedingly great abundance of aromatics, and very precious gems. Never were there such aromatics as those that the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
Y dio al rey ciento y veinte talentos de oro, y gran copia de especiería, y piedras preciosas: nunca hubo tal especiería como la que dio la reina de Sabá al rey Salomón.
10 Then too, the servants of Hiram, with the servants of Solomon, brought gold from Ophir, and wood from thyine trees, and very precious gems.
También los siervos de Hiram, y los siervos de Salomón, que habían traído el oro de Ofir, trajeron madera de almugim, y piedras preciosas.
11 And the king made, from this particular thyine wood, steps in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king, and also harps and psalteries for the singing men. Never was there seen such wood in the land of Judah.
E hizo el rey de la madera de almugim gradas en la casa de Jehová, y en las casas reales, y arpas y salterios para los cantores: nunca en tierra de Judá fue vista madera semejante.
12 Then king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, and all that she requested, and much more than what she had brought to him. And returning, she went away to her own land with her servants.
Y el rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo lo que ella quiso y le pidió, más de lo que ella había traído al rey: y ella se volvió y se fue a su tierra con sus siervos.
13 Now the weight of the gold, which was being brought to Solomon throughout each year, was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
Y el peso de oro que venía a Salomón cada un año era seiscientos y sesenta y seis talentos de oro,
14 apart from the sum that the legates of various nations and the merchants were accustomed to bring, and apart from the gold and silver that all the kings of Arabia, and the princes of the lands, were bringing together for Solomon.
Sin lo que traían los mercaderes y negociantes. Y también todos los reyes de Arabia, y los príncipes de la tierra, traían oro y plata a Salomón.
15 And so, king Solomon made two hundred gold spears, from six hundred gold pieces, the amount used for each spear,
Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro de martillo, que tenía cada pavés seiscientas piezas de oro de martillo.
16 and also three hundred gold shields, from three hundred gold pieces, which covered each shield. And the king placed them in the armory, which was situated in a forest.
Ítem, trescientos escudos de oro extendido, que tenía cada escudo trescientas piezas de oro. Y púsolos el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.
17 Also, the king made a great ivory throne, and he clothed it with the purest gold.
Hizo también el rey un gran trono de marfil, y cubrióle de oro puro:
18 And there were six steps, by which he would ascend to the throne, and a footstool of gold, and two arms, one on each side, and two lions standing beside the arms.
Y al trono seis gradas, y un estrado de oro al trono, y arrimadizos de la una parte y de la otra al lugar del asiento, y dos leones, que estaban junto a los arrimadizos.
19 Moreover, there were twelve additional little lions standing upon the six steps on both sides. There was no similar throne in all the kingdoms.
Había también allí doce leones sobre las seis gradas de la una parte y de la otra: en todos los reinos nunca fue hecho otro tal.
20 Also, all the vessels for the feasts of the king were of gold, and the vessels of the forest house of Lebanon were from the purest gold. For silver in those days was considered as nothing.
Toda la vajilla del rey Salomón era de oro, y toda la vajilla de la casa del bosque del Líbano de oro puro. En los días de Salomón la plata no era de estima.
21 For indeed, the ships of the king went to Tarshish, with the servants of Hiram, once every three years. And they brought from there gold, and silver, and ivory, and primates, and peacocks.
Porque la flota del rey iba a Társis con los siervos de Hiram, y cada tres años solían venir las naves de Társis, y traían oro, plata, marfil, simios, y pavos.
22 And so, Solomon was magnified above all the kings of the earth in wealth and glory.
Y excedió el rey Salomón a todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y en sabiduría.
23 And all the kings of the lands were desiring to see the face of Solomon, so that they might hear the wisdom that God had granted to his heart.
Y todos los reyes de la tierra procuraban ver el rostro de Salomón, por oír su sabiduría, que Dios había dado en su corazón.
24 And they were bringing to him gifts, vessels of silver and of gold, and garments, and armor, and aromatics, and horses, and mules, throughout each year.
Y de estos cada uno traía su presente, vasos de plata, vasos de oro, vestidos, armas, especierías, caballos, y acémilas, todos los años.
25 Also, Solomon had forty thousand horses in the stables, and twelve thousand chariots and horsemen, and he appointed them to the cities of the chariots, and where the king was in Jerusalem.
Tuvo también Salomón cuatro mil caballerizas para los caballos y carros, y doce mil caballeros, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalem.
26 Now he also exercised authority over all the kings from the river Euphrates as far as the land of the Philistines, and as far as the borders of Egypt.
Y tuvo señorío sobre todos los reyes, desde el río hasta la tierra de los Filisteos, y hasta el término de Egipto.
27 And he brought forth so much silver that it was as plentiful in Jerusalem as stones. And cedar trees were as great in number as the sycamores that spring up in the plains.
Y puso el rey plata en Jerusalem como piedras, y cedros como los cabrahígos que nacen por las campañas en abundancia.
28 And horses were brought to him from Egypt and from every region.
Sacaban también caballos para Salomón de Egipto, y de todas las provincias.
29 Now the rest of the works of Solomon, the first and the last, have been written in the words of Nathan, the prophet, and in the books of Ahijah, the Shilonite, as well as in the vision of Iddo, the seer, against Jeroboam, the son of Nabat.
Lo demás de los hechos de Salomón primeros y postreros, ¿no está todo escrito en los libros de Natán profeta, y en la profecía de Ahías Silonita, y en las profecías de Addo vidente, contra Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat?
30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem, over all of Israel, for forty years.
Y reinó Salomón en Jerusalem sobre todo Israel cuarenta años.
31 And he slept with his fathers. And they buried him in the City of David. And his son, Rehoboam, reigned in his place.
Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y sepultáronle en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.
