< 1 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paul, called as an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God; and Sosthenes, a brother:
U Paulo, juno alyakemelilue nu Kilisite u Yesu kuva m'bombi muvughane vwa Nguluve,
2 to the Church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints with all who are invoking the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place of theirs and of ours.
nu Sosthene unyalukolo ghwitu, kulukong'ano lwa Nguluve luno luli ku Korintho, kavala vano valing'anisivue mwa Yesu kiliste vano vakamemesivue kuuva vaanhu vimike. Tukavalembela vala vooni vano vikulikemela ilitavua lya Mutwa ghwitu Yesu Kilisite pooni pooni, u Mutwa ghwa vanave kange ghwitu.
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ulusungu nulutengano luvisaghe kulyumue kuhuma kwa Nguluve u Nhaata ghwitu nu Mutwa ghwitu Yesu Kilisite.
4 I give thanks to my God continuously for you because of the grace of God that has been given to you in Christ Jesus.
Ifighono fyooni nikumongesia u Nguluve ghwango vwimila umue, vwimila ulusungu lwa Nguluve luno u Kilisite Yesu alyavapelile.
5 By that grace, in all things, you have become wealthy in him, in every word and in all knowledge.
Avavikile kuva vamofu musiila sooni, vuujofi palikimo nuvumanyani vwooni.
6 And so, the testimony of Christ has been strengthened in you.
Avaviikile vamofu, heene vwolesi ulwa Kilisite ulwakuuti lun'kangasivue kuuva kyaang'haani mun'kate mulyumue.
7 In this way, nothing is lacking to you in any grace, as you await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pauluo namukwaghilua ifipelua fya mhunumbula, ndavule mulinuvunoghelua uvwakughulila ulyusyuko lwa Mutwa ghwitu u Yesu Kilisite.
8 And he, too, will strengthen you, even until the end, without guilt, until the day of the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ikuvakangasia umue kufika kuvusililo, ulwakuuti muleke kupikua mukighono kya Mutwa ghwitu Yesu Kiliste.
9 God is faithful. Through him, you have been called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
U Nguluve n'koola juno alyavakemelile umue muvumo vwa mwana ghwa mwene, Yesu Kiliste Mutwa ghwitu.
10 And so, I beg you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that every one of you speak in the same way, and that there be no schisms among you. So may you become perfect, with the same mind and with the same judgment.
Lino nikuvapelepesia mwevakulu vango numue va mwanilumbu, kukila mulitavua lya Mutwa ghwitu Yesu Kilisite, kuuti vooni mwitike, nakuuti nakulavesagha kughaving'ana mun'jate mulyumue. Nikuvapelepesia kuuti muvisaghe palikimo nu luvelo luumo nuvufumbue vwumo.
11 For it has been indicated to me, about you, my brothers, by those who are with Chloes, that there are contentions among you.
Ulwakuva avaanhu va munyumba ija Kloe vam'bulile kuuti kwelule ulughaving'ano luno lughendelela pakate palyumue.
12 Now I say this because each of you is saying: “Certainly, I am of Paul;” “But I am of Apollo;” “Truly, I am of Cephas;” as well as: “I am of Christ.”
Nilonda kuuti: Umuunhu ghweni kulyumue ijoova, “Une nilii hwa Paulo,” nambe “Une nili ghwa Apolo,” nambe “Une nilii ghwa Kefa” nambe “Une nili ghwa Kilisite”.
13 Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
Vuuli! U Kilisite aghaving'ine? Vuuli! U Paulo alyakomelilue vwimila umue? Vuuli! Mhulyofufughilue mulitavua lya Paulo?
14 I give thanks to God that I have baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
Nikumongesia u Nguluve kuuti nanilyamwofughe nambe jumo, looli u Kirispo nhu Gayo.
15 lest anyone say that you have been baptized in my name.
Ulu lulyale kuuti nakwale nambe jumonga juno ale iiti mulyofughue mulitavua lyango.
16 And I also baptized the household of Stephanus. Other than these, I do not recall if I baptized any others.
(Kange nilyavofuighe avaa munyumba ja Stephania. Kukila apuo, nanikagwile kuuti nilyamwofuighe nhu muunhu juunge jujuno avisaghe).
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to evangelize: not through the wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ become empty.
Ulwakuvaa, u Kilisite alyanyomuile kukwofugha looli kudalikila ilivangili. Looli nalyanyomwile kudalikila ni njovele inono ija kimuunhu, ulwakuuti ingufu sa kikovekano sileke pivuka.
18 For the Word of the Cross is certainly foolishness to those who are perishing. But to those who have been saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God.
Ulwakuva imola ija kikovekano luunangano kuvano vifua. Looli kuvala vano u Nguluve ikuvapoka, se ngufu sa Nguluve.
19 For it has been written: “I will perish the wisdom of the wise, and I will reject the discernment of the prudent.”
Ulwakuva liilembilue, “Ninanganiagha uvukola uvwa nyaluhala. Ninanganiagha injovele sa vanyaluala.”
20 Where are the wise? Where are the scribes? Where are the truth-seekers of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of this world into foolishness? (aiōn g165)
Alikughi umuunhu unya vukola? Alikughi unyavwimbi? Alikughi unjovaji ughwa kujishetulania iisi? Vuuli u Nguluve nalyasetulinie uvukola vwa iisi iji kuuva vujasu? (aiōn g165)
21 For the world did not know God through wisdom, and so, in the wisdom of God, it pleased God to accomplish the salvation of believers, through the foolishness of our preaching.
Kuhuma iisi jilinuvwakyang'haani vwa jeene najilya n'kagwile u Nguluve, lulyanoghile u Nguluve mhuvuyasu vuvanave ulwakudalikila ulwakuuti avapoke vano vikwitika.
22 For the Jews ask for signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom.
Kuvaa Yahudi kuposia ifivalilo fya fidegho na kuva Yahudi kulonda uvwakyang'ani.
23 But we are preaching Christ crucified. Certainly, to the Jews, this is a scandal, and to the Gentiles, this is foolishness.
Looli tukun'dalikila u Kilisite juno alyakomelilue, juno aling'uvasi kuva Yahudi, kange vwe vuyasu kuva Yunani.
24 But to those who have been called, Jews as well as Greeks, the Christ is the virtue of God and the wisdom of God.
Looli kuvala vala vano valyakemelilue nu Nguluve, avaYahudi nava Yunani tukudalikila u akilisite heena ngufu nuvwakyang'haanivwa Nguluve.
25 For what is foolishness to God is considered wise by men, and that which is weakness to God is considered strong by men.
Ulwakuva uvuyasu vwa Nguluve vuliinuvwa kyang'haani kukila uvwa vaanhu nuvuvotevote vwa Nguluve vuliiningufu kukila avaanhu.
26 So take care of your vocation, brothers. For not many are wise according to the flesh, not many are powerful, not many are noble.
lagha ing'emelo ja Nguluve kulyumue, vakuulu vango numue va mwanilumbu. Namulyale viinga mulyumue kuuti namulyale nuvwakyang'haani mufighelelo fya vumuunhu. Namulyale viinga mwe vanyangufu mulyumue. Namulyale viinga mulyaholilue muvuvaha.
27 But God has chosen the foolish of the world, so that he may confound the wise. And God has chosen the weak of the world, so that he may confound the strong.
Looli uNguluve alyasalwile ifinhu ifiyasu ifya mu iisi muno ulwa kuvafipelela i soni ifinyavwakyang'haani. U Nguluve alyasalwile ifivotevote mhu iisi pikukikosekesia isoni ikinya ngufu.
28 And God has chosen the ignoble and contemptible of the world, those who are nothing, so that he may reduce to nothing those who are something.
U Nguluve alyasalwile kila kino kilipasi kyongo nakila kino kilyasyojolilue mu iisi. Alyasalwile fyoni fino nafilyavalivue kuuva kiinu, kukufivika heene na kiinu ifinu ifinya luvumbulilo.
29 So then, nothing that is of the flesh should glory in his sight.
Alyavombile vulevule ulwakuuti nakwangavisaghe nambe jumonga juno aliinulwakutosia pavulongolo pa mweene.
30 But you are of him in Christ Jesus, who was made by God to be our wisdom and justice and sanctification and redemption.
Vwimila vwa kila kino u Nguluve alya kivombile, lino mulimun'kate mwa kilisite Yesu, juno avombike mu vwakyang'haani vwimila usue kuhuma kwa Nguluve. Alyale ghwa kyang'haani ghwitu uvwimike muvuvangi.
31 And so, in the same way, it was written: “Whoever glories, should glory in the Lord.”
Heene luhumilo, ndavule ililembe lijoova, “Juno ikughinia, ighiniaghe mwa Mutwa.”
