Psalms 66
1 For the end, a Song of Psalm of resurrection. Shout to God, all the earth.
Au chef de musique. Cantique. Psaume. Poussez des cris de joie vers Dieu, toute la terre!
2 O sing praises to his name; give glory to his praise.
Chantez la gloire de son nom, rendez glorieuse sa louange.
3 Say to God, How awful are your works! through the greatness of your power your enemies shall lie to you.
Dites à Dieu: Que tes œuvres sont terribles! Tes ennemis se soumettent à toi, à cause de la grandeur de ta force.
4 Let all the earth worship you, and sing to you; let them sing to your name. (Pause)
Toute la terre se prosternera devant toi, et chantera tes louanges; elle chantera ton nom. (Sélah)
5 Come and behold the works of God; [he is] terrible in [his] counsels beyond the children of men.
Venez, et voyez les œuvres de Dieu: il est terrible dans ses actes envers les fils des hommes.
6 Who turns the sea into dry land; they shall go through the river on foot; there shall we rejoice in him,
Il changea la mer en terre sèche; ils passèrent le fleuve à pied: là nous nous sommes réjouis en lui.
7 who by his power is Lord over the age, his eyes look upon the nations; let not them that provoke [him] be exalted in themselves. (Pause)
Il domine par sa puissance pour toujours; ses yeux observent les nations. Que les rebelles ne s’élèvent pas! (Sélah)
8 Bless our God, you Gentiles, and make the voice of his praise to be heard;
Peuples, bénissez notre Dieu, et faites entendre la voix de sa louange.
9 who quickens my soul in life, and does not suffer my feet to be moved.
C’est lui qui a conservé notre âme en vie, et il n’a pas permis que nos pieds soient ébranlés.
10 For you, O God, has proved us; you have tried us with fire as silver is tried.
Car, ô Dieu! tu nous as éprouvés, tu nous as affinés comme on affine l’argent;
11 You brought us into the snare; you laid afflictions on our back.
Tu nous as fait entrer dans le filet, tu as mis un fardeau accablant sur nos reins;
12 You did mount men upon our heads; we went through the fire and water; but you brought us out into [a place of] refreshment.
Tu as fait passer les hommes sur notre tête; nous sommes entrés dans le feu et dans l’eau, et tu nous as fait sortir dans un lieu spacieux.
13 I will go into your house with whole burnt offerings; I will pay you my vows,
J’entrerai dans ta maison avec des holocaustes; j’acquitterai envers toi mes vœux,
14 which my lips framed, and my mouth uttered in my affliction.
Ce que mes lèvres ont proféré, et que ma bouche a dit dans ma détresse.
15 I will offer to you whole burnt sacrifices full of marrow, with incense and rams; I will sacrifice to you oxen with goats. (Pause)
Je t’offrirai des holocaustes de bêtes grasses, avec l’encens des béliers; je sacrifierai du gros bétail avec des boucs. (Sélah)
16 Come, hear, and I will tell, all you that fear God, how great things he has done for my soul.
Venez, écoutez, vous tous qui craignez Dieu, et je raconterai ce qu’il a fait pour mon âme.
17 I cried to him with my mouth, and exalted him with my tongue.
J’ai crié à lui de ma bouche, et il a été exalté par ma langue.
18 If I have regarded iniquity in my heart, let not the Lord listen [to me].
Si j’avais regardé l’iniquité dans mon cœur, le Seigneur ne m’aurait pas écouté.
19 Therefore God has listened to me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Cependant Dieu m’a écouté; il a fait attention à la voix de ma prière.
20 Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
Béni soit Dieu, qui n’a point rejeté ma prière, ni retiré d’avec moi sa bonté.
