Psalms 17
1 A prayer of David. Listen, O Lord of my righteousness, attend to my petition; give ear to my prayer not [uttered] with deceitful lips.
Ouve, Senhor, a justiça, attende ao meu clamor; dá ouvidos á minha oração, que não é feita com labios enganosos.
2 Let my judgement come forth from your presence; let mine eyes behold righteousness.
Saia o meu juizo de diante do teu rosto; attendam os teus olhos á razão.
3 You has proved mine heart; you have visited [me] by night; you have tried me as with fire, and unrighteousness has not been found in me: [I am purposed] that my mouth shall not speak [amiss].
Provaste o meu coração; visitaste-me de noite; examinaste-me, e nada achaste; propuz que a minha bocca não transgredirá.
4 As for the works of men, by the words of your lips I have guarded [myself from] hard ways.
Quanto ao trato dos homens, pela palavra dos teus labios me guardei das veredas do destruidor.
5 Direct my steps in your paths, that my steps slip not.
Dirige os meus passos nos teus caminhos, para que as minhas pégadas não vacillem.
6 I have cried, for you heard me, O God: incline your ear to me, and listen to my words.
Eu te invoquei, ó Deus, pois me queres ouvir; inclina para mim os teus ouvidos, e escuta as minhas palavras.
7 Show the marvels of your mercies, you that save them that hope in you.
Faze maravilhosas as tuas beneficencias, ó tu que livras aquelles que em ti confiam dos que se levantam contra a tua mão direita.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye from those that resist your right hand: you shall screen me by the covering of your wings,
Guarda-me como á menina do olho, esconde-me debaixo da sombra das tuas azas,
9 from the face of the ungodly that have afflicted me: mine enemies have compassed about my soul.
Dos impios que me opprimem, dos meus inimigos mortaes que me andam cercando.
10 They have enclosed [themselves with] their own fat: their mouth has spoken pride.
Na sua gordura se encerram, com a bocca fallam soberbamente.
11 They have now cast me out and compassed me round about: they have set their eyes [so as] to bow them down to the ground.
Teem-nos cercado agora nossos passos; e abaixaram os seus olhos para a terra;
12 They laid wait for me as a lion ready for prey, and like a lion's whelp dwelling in secret [places].
Parecem-se com o leão que deseja arrebatar a sua preza, e com o leãosinho que se põe em esconderijos.
13 Arise, O Lord, prevent them, and cast them down: deliver my soul from the ungodly: [draw] your sword,
Levanta-te, Senhor, detem-n'a, derriba-o, livra a minha alma do impio, com a espada tua,
14 because of the enemies of your hand: O Lord, destroy them from the earth; scatter them in their life, though their belly has been filled with your hidden [treasures]: they have been satisfied with uncleanness, and have left the remnant [of their possessions] to their babes.
Dos homens que são a tua mão, Senhor, dos homens do mundo, cuja porção está n'esta vida, e cujo ventre enches do teu thesouro occulto: estão fartos de filhos e dão os seus sobejos ás suas creanças.
15 But I shall appear in righteousness before your face: I shall be satisfied when your glory appears.
Emquanto a mim, contemplarei a tua face na justiça; satisfazer-me-hei da tua similhança quando acordar.
