Psalms 136

1 Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord: for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.

CELEBRATE il Signore; perciocchè [egli è] buono; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

2 Give thanks to the God of gods; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Celebrate l'Iddio degl'iddii; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Celebrate il Signore de' signori; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

4 To him who along has wrought great wonders: for his mercy [endures] for ever.

[Celebrate] colui che solo fa maraviglie grandi; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

5 To him who made the heavens by understanding; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Colui che ha fatti i cieli con intendimento; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

6 To him who established the earth on the waters; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Colui che ha distesa la terra sopra le acque; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

7 To him who alone made great lights; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Colui che fa fatti i gran luminari; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

8 The sun to rule by day; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Il sole, per [avere] il reggimento del giorno; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

9 The moon and the stars to rule the night; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

La luna e le stelle, per [avere] i reggimenti della notte; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

10 To him who struck Egypt with their firstborn; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Colui che percosse gli Egizi ne' lor primogeniti; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

11 And brought Israel out of the midst of them; for his mercy [endures] for ever:

E trasse fuori Israele del mezzo di loro; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

12 with a strong hand, and a high arm: for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Con man potente, e con braccio steso; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

13 To him who divided the Red Sea into parts: for his mercy [endures] for ever:

Colui che spartì il Mar rosso in due; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

14 and brought Israel through the midst of it: for his mercy [endures] for ever:

E fece passare Israele per lo mezzo di esso; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

15 and overthrew Pharao and his host in the Red Sea: for his mercy endures for ever.

E traboccò nel Mar rosso Faraone ed il suo esercito; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

16 To him who led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Colui che condusse il suo popolo per lo deserto; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

17 To him who struck great kings: for his mercy [endures] for ever:

Colui per percosse re grandi; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

18 and killed mighty kings; for his mercy [endures] for ever:

Ed uccise re potenti; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

19 Seon king of the Amorites: for his mercy [endures] for ever:

Sihon, re degli Amorrei; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

20 and Og king of Basan: for his mercy [endures] for ever:

Ed Og, re di Basan; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

21 and gave their land [for] an inheritance: for his mercy [endures] for ever:

E diede il lor paese in eredità; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

22 even an inheritance to Israel his servant: for his mercy [endures] for ever.

[In] eredità ad Israele, suo servitore; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

23 For the Lord remembered us in our low estate; for his mercy [endures] for ever:

Il quale, quando siamo stati abbassati, si è ricordato di noi; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

24 and redeemed us from our enemies; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

E ci ha riscossi da' nostri nemici; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

25 Who gives food to all flesh; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Il quale dà il cibo ad ogni carne; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.

26 Give thanks to the God of heaven; for his mercy [endures] for ever.

Celebrate il Signore de' cieli; Perciocchè la sua benignità [è] in eterno.
