Psalms 104
1 [A Psalm] of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great; you have clothed yourself with praise and honour:
¡Qué todo mi ser alabe al Señor! ¡Dios mío, eres tan grande, revestido en majestad y esplendor!
2 who do robe yourself with light as with a garment; spreading out the heaven as a curtain.
Usas la luz como vestidura; tú extiendes el tejido de los cielos.
3 Who covers his chambers with waters; who makes the clouds his chariot; who walks on the wings of the wind.
Colocas las vigas de tu casa en las nubes de lluvia. Haces de las nubes de los cielos tus carruajes. Te montas sobre las alas del viento.
4 Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flaming fire.
Haces de los vientos tus ángeles, y a las llamas de fuego tus sirvientes.
5 Who establishes the earth on her sure foundation: it shall not be moved for ever.
Tú pusiste la tierra sobre sus bases; y nunca será estremecida.
6 The deep, as it were a garment, is his covering: the waters shall stand on the hills.
Estaba cubierta con océanos profundos, las aguas cubrían las montañas—
7 At your rebuke they shall flee; at the voice of your thunder they shall be alarmed.
pero a tu orden las aguas huyeron; al sonido de tu trueno corren.
8 They go up to the mountains, and down to the plains, to the place which you have founded for them.
Las montañas se levantaron y los valles se hundieron hasta donde tú habías determinado.
9 You have set a bound which they shall not pass, neither shall they turn again to cover the earth.
Pusiste un límite para los océanos, para que no regresaran y volvieran a cubrir la tierra.
10 He sends forth his fountains amongst the valleys: the waters shall run between the mountains.
Haces que los manantiales fluyan hacia los arroyos, bajando desde las montañas.
11 They shall give drink to all the wild beasts of the field: the wild asses shall take [of them] to [quench] their thirst.
Proveen agua para todos los animales salvajes, para que los caballos salvajes aplaquen su sed.
12 By them shall the birds of the sky lodge: they shall utter a voice out of the midst of the rocks.
Los pájaros construyen sus nidos entre los árboles al lado de las corrientes de agua, cantando entre el follaje.
13 He waters the mountains from his chambers: the earth shall be satisfied with the fruit of your works.
Envías lluvias sobre las montañas desde tu hogar en lo más alto; llenas la tierra con cosas buenas.
14 He makes grass to grow for the cattle, and green herb for the service of men, to bring bread out of the earth;
Haces que la grama crezca para las vacas, y las plantas también para que la gente se alimente de ellas, cultivos de la tierra para servir como alimento,
15 and wine makes glad the heart of man, to make his face cheerful with oil: and bread strengthens man's heart.
y vino para hacerlos felices, aceite de oliva para hacer resplandecer sus rostros, y pan para hacerlos fuertes.
16 The trees of the plain shall be full [of sap]; [even] the cedars of Libanus which he has planted.
Los árboles del Señor están bien regados, los cedros del líbano que Él plantó.
17 There the sparrows will build their nests; and the house of the heron takes the lead amongst them.
Los gorriones se anidan ahí; las garzas hacen sus nidos en los más altos árboles.
18 The high mountains are a refuge for the stags, [and] the rock for the rabbits.
Las cabras salvajes viven en los picos de las montañas; y los damanes se esconden entre las rocas.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows his going down.
Tú hiciste la luna para marcar los meses, y el sol sabe cuándo ponerse.
20 You did make darkness, and it was night; in it all the wild beasts of the forest will be abroad:
Haces caer la oscuridad para que venga la noche, el momento en el que los animales del bosque salen a cazar.
21 [even] young lions roaring for prey, and to seek meat for themselves from God.
Los jóvenes leones rugen mientras buscan a su presa, buscando la comida que Dios les proveyó.
22 The sun arises, and they shall be gathered together, and shall lie down in their dens.
Cuando el sol sale vuelven a sus guaridas para descansar.
23 Man shall go forth to his work, and to his labour till evening.
Entonces las personas salen a hacer sus tareas, y trabajan hasta el ocaso.
24 How great are your works, O Lord! in wisdom have you wrought them all: the earth is filled with your creation.
Señor, ¡Cuántas cosas has hecho, todas ellas sabiamente formadas! La tierra está llena de tus criaturas.
25 [So is] this great and wide sea: there are things creeping innumerable, small animals and great.
Considera el mar, profundo y ancho, lleno de todos los tipos de seres vivientes, grandes y pequeños.
26 There go the ships; [and] this dragon whom you have made to play in it.
Los barcos navegan allí, y el Leviatán, que creaste para que jugara en él.
27 All wait upon you, to give them [their] food in due season.
Todas las criaturas te buscan para que les des comida en el momento correcto.
28 When you have given [it] them, they will gather [it]; and when you have opened your hand, they shall all be filled with good.
Cuando se las provees, la recogen. Les repartes alimento a todos, y son saciados.
29 But when you have turned away your face, they shall be troubled: you will take away their breath, and they shall fail, and return to their dust.
Cuando te alejas de ellos, se aterrorizan; cuando retiras su aliento de vida, ellos mueren y regresan al polvo.
30 You shall send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created; and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Mas cuando envías tu aliento, son creados, y la vida cubre la tierra una vez más.
31 Let the glory of the Lord be for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works;
¡Qué la gloria del Señor permanezca para siempre! El Señor se alegra con todo lo que ha hecho.
32 who looks upon the earth, and makes it tremble; who touches the mountains, and they smoke.
Solo tiene que mirar hacia la tierra y esta tiembla; las montañas dejan salir humo a su toque.
33 I will sing to the Lord while I live; I will sing praise to my God while I exist.
Cantaré al Señor mientras viva; cantaré alabanzas a Dios toda mi vida.
34 Let my meditation be sweet to him: and I will rejoice in the Lord.
Ojalá el Señor se plazca con mis pensamientos porque me alegro en el Señor.
35 Let the sinners fail from off the earth, and transgressors, so that they shall be no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul.
¡Sean destruidos los pecadores de la tierra; qué los malvados dejen de existir! ¡Todo mi ser alabe al Señor!
