Numbers 11

1 And the people murmured sinfully before the Lord; and the Lord heard [them] and was very angry; and fire was kindled amongst them from the Lord, and devoured a part of the camp.

Y aconteció, que el pueblo se quejó en oídos de Jehová, y oyólo Jehová, y enojóse su furor, y encendióse en ellos fuego de Jehová, y consumió el un cabo del campo.

2 And the people cried to Moses: and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire was quenched.

Entonces el pueblo dio voces a Moisés, y Moisés oró a Jehová, y el fuego se hundió.

3 And the name of that place was called Burning; for a fire was kindled amongst them from the Lord.

Y llamó a aquel lugar Tabera; porque el fuego de Jehová se encendió en ellos.

4 And the mixed multitude amongst them lusted exceedingly; and they and the children of Israel sat down and wept and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

Y el vulgo que era en medio del pueblo tuvo deseo, y volvieron, y aun lloraron los hijos de Israel, y dijeron: ¿Quién nos hiciese comer carne?

5 We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt freely; and the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the garlic, and the onions.

Acordámosnos del pescado, que comíamos en Egipto de balde, de los pepinos, y de los melones, y de los puerros, y de las cebollas, y de los ajos:

6 But now our soul is dried up; our eyes [turn] to nothing but to the manna.

Y ahora nuestra alma se seca, que nada sino man ven nuestros ojos.

7 And the manna is as coriander seed, and the appearance of it the appearance of hoarfrost.

Y el man era como simiente de cilantro, y su color como color de cristal.

8 And the people went through the field, and gathered, and ground it in the mill, or pounded it in a mortar, and baked it in a pan, and made cakes of it; and the sweetness of it was as the taste [of] wafer made with oil.

Derramábase el pueblo, y cogían, y molían en molinos, o majaban en morteros, y cocían en la caldera, y hacían de él tortas; y su sabor era como sabor de aceite nuevo.

9 And when the dew came upon the camp by night, the manna came down upon it.

Y cuando descendía el rocío sobre el real de noche, el man descendía de sobre él.

10 And Moses heard them weeping by their families, every one in his door: and the Lord was very angry; and the thing was evil in the sight of Moses.

Y oyó Moisés al pueblo, que lloraba por sus familias, cada uno a la puerta de su tienda, y el furor de Jehová se encendió en gran manera; y pareció mal a Moisés.

11 And Moses said to the Lord, Why have you afflicted your servant, and why have I not found grace in your sight, that you should lay the weight of this people upon me?

Y dijo Moisés a Jehová: ¿Por qué has hecho mal a tu siervo? ¿Y por qué no he hallado gracia en tus ojos, que has puesto la carga de todo este pueblo sobre mí?

12 Have I conceived all this people, or have I born them? that you say to me, Take them into your bosom, as a nurse would take her suckling, into the land which you sware to their fathers?

¿Concebí yo a todo este pueblo? ¿Engendréle yo, que me dices, llévale en tus brazos, como lleva el que cria al que mama, a la tierra de la cual juraste a sus padres?

13 Whence have I flesh to give to all this people? for they weep to me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

¿De dónde tengo yo carne para dar a todo este pueblo? Porque lloran sobre mí, diciendo: Dános carne, que comamos.

14 I shall not be able to bear this people alone, for this thing is too heavy for me.

No puedo yo solo suportar a todo este pueblo, que es más pesado que yo.

15 And if you do thus to me, kill me utterly, if I have found favour with you, that I may not see my affliction.

Y si así lo haces tú conmigo, yo te ruego que me mates de muerte, si he hallado gracia en tus ojos, y que yo no vea mi mal.

16 And the Lord said to Moses, Gather me seventy men from the elders of Israel, whom you yourself know that they are the elders of the people, and their scribes; and you shall bring them to the tabernacle of witness, and they shall stand there with you.

Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: Júntame setenta varones de los ancianos de Israel, que tú sabes que son ancianos del pueblo, y sus príncipes: y tráelos a la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, y esperen allí contigo.

17 And I will go down, and speak there with you; and I will take of the spirit that is upon you, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear together with you the burden of the people, and you shall not bear them alone.

Y yo descenderé, y hablaré allí contigo, y tomaré del espíritu que está en ti, y pondré en ellos, y llevarán contigo la carga del pueblo, y no la llevarás tú solo.

18 And to the people you shall say, Purify yourselves for the morrow, and you shall eat flesh; for you wept before the Lord, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: and the Lord shall allow you to eat flesh, and you shall eat flesh.

Empero al pueblo dirás: Santificáos para mañana, y comeréis carne: por cuanto habéis llorado en oídos de Jehová, diciendo: ¿Quién nos hiciese comer carne? Cierto mejor nos iba en Egipto. Que Jehová os dará carne, y comeréis.

19 You shall not eat one day, nor two, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days;

No comeréis un día, ni dos días, ni cinco días, ni diez días, ni veinte días:

20 you shall eat for a full month, until [the flesh] come out at your nostrils; and it shall be nausea to you, because you disobeyed the Lord, who is amongst you, and wept before him, saying, What had we to do to come out of Egypt?

Hasta un mes de tiempo, hasta que os salga por las narices, y os sea en aborrecimiento: por cuanto menospreciasteis a Jehová, que está en medio de vosotros, y llorasteis delante de él, diciendo: ¿Para qué salimos acá de Egipto?

21 And Moses said, The people amongst whom I am are six hundred thousand footmen; and you said, I will give them flesh to eat, and they shall eat a whole month.

Entonces Moisés dijo: Seiscientos mil de a pie es el pueblo en medio del cual yo estoy: ¿Y tú dices: yo les daré carne, y comerán un mes de tiempo?

22 Shall sheep and oxen be slain for them, and shall it suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, and shall it suffice them?

¿Degollarse han para ellos ovejas y bueyes que les basten? o ¿juntarse han para ellos todos los peces de la mar, para que hayan abasto?

23 And the Lord said to Moses, Shall not the hand of the Lord be fully sufficient? now shall you know whether my word shall come to pass to you or not.

Entonces Jehová respondió a Moisés: ¿Será cortada la mano de Jehová? Ahora verás si te viene mi dicho o no.

24 And Moses went out, and spoke the words of the Lord to the people; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and he set them round about the tabernacle.

Y salió Moisés, y dijo al pueblo las palabras de Jehová: y juntó los setenta varones de los ancianos del pueblo, e hízolos estar al derredor del tabernáculo.

25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men that were elders; and when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and ceased.

Entonces Jehová descendió en la nube, y hablóle: y tomó del espíritu que estaba en él, y puso en los setenta varones ancianos, y fue, que en reposando en ellos el espíritu profetizaron, y no añadieron.

26 And there were two men left in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Modad; and the spirit rested upon them, and these were of the number of them that were enrolled, but they did not come to the tabernacle; and they prophesied in the camp.

Y habían quedado en el campo dos varones: el uno se llamaba Eldad, y el otro Medad, sobre los cuales también reposó el espíritu: estos estaban entre los escritos, mas no habían salido al tabernáculo, y profetizaron en el campo.

27 And a young man ran and told Moses, and spoke, saying, Eldad and Modad prophesy in the camp.

Y corrió un mozo, y dio aviso a Moisés, y dijo: Eldad y Medad profetizan en el campo.

28 And Joshua the son of Naue, who attended on Moses, the chosen one, said, [My] lord Moses, forbid them.

Entonces respondió Josué, hijo de Nun, ministro de Moisés, de sus mancebos, y dijo: Señor mío Moisés, impídelos.

29 And Moses said to him, Are you jealous on my account? and would that all the Lord's people were prophets; whenever the Lord shall put his spirit upon them.

Y Moisés le respondió: ¿Tienes tú celos por mí? Mas ¡quién diese que todo el pueblo de Jehová fuesen profetas, que Jehová diese su espíritu sobre ellos!

30 And Moses departed into the camp, himself and the elders of Israel.

Y recogióse Moisés al campo, él y los ancianos de Israel.

31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails over from the sea; and it brought them down upon the camp a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on that side, round about the camp, as it were two cubits from the earth.

Y salió un viento de Jehová, y trajo codornices de la mar, y dejólas sobre el real un día de camino de la una parte, y otro día de camino de la otra en derredor del campo, y casi dos codos sobre la haz de la tierra.

32 And the people rose up all the day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered quails; he that gathered least, gathered ten measures; and they refreshed themselves round about the camp.

Entonces el pueblo se levantó todo aquel día, y toda la noche, y todo el día siguiente, y cogiéronse codornices, el que menos, cogió diez montones: y tendiéronselas tendiendo al derredor del campo.

33 The flesh was yet between their teeth, before it failed, when the Lord was angry with the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very great plague.

Aun estaba la carne entre los dientes de ellos, antes que fuese cortada, cuando el furor de Jehová se encendió en el pueblo, e hirió Jehová al pueblo de gran plaga en gran manera.

34 And the name of that place was called the Graves of Lust; for there they buried the people that lusted.

Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Kibrot-hattaava, por cuanto allí sepultaron al pueblo codicioso.

35 The people departed from the Graves of Lust to Aseroth; and the people halted at Aseroth.

De Kibrot-hattaava movió el pueblo a Jaserot, y pararon en Jaserot.
