Joshua 1

1 And it came to pass after the death of Moses, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Naue, the minister of Moses, saying,

ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮರಣದ ತರುವಾಯ, ನೂನನ ಮಗ ಮತ್ತು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸೇವಕ ಆಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು:

2 Moses my servant is dead; now then arise, go over Jordan, you and all this people, into the land, which I give them.

“ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಈಗ ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾದ ಈ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು, ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗು.

3 Every spot on which you shall tread I will give it to you, as I said to Moses.

ನಾನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನೀವು ಪಾದವಿಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

4 The wilderness and Antilibanus, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, and as far as the extremity of the sea; your costs shall be from the setting of the sun.

ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಈ ಲೆಬನೋನ್ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ಮಹಾ ನದಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮದಾಗುವುದು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೀಮೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಅಸ್ತಮಿಸುವ ಮಹಾಸಾಗರದವರೆಗೂ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.

5 Not a man shall stand against you all the days of your life; and as I was with Moses, so will I also be with you, and I will not fail you, or neglect you.

ನೀನು ಜೀವಿಸುವ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲನು. ನಾನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವೆನು. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

6 Be strong and 'quit yourself like a man, for you shall divide the land to this people, which I sware to give to your fathers.

ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿರು, ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಬೇಕಾದವನು ನೀನೇ.

7 Be strong, therefore, and quit yourself like a man, to observe and do as Moses my servant commanded you; and you shall not turn therefrom to the right hand or to the left, that you may be wise in whatever you may do.

“ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನೀನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿರು, ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರು. ನೀನು ಹೋಗುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಫಲವಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಲಕ್ಕಾದರೂ, ಎಡಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ತಿರುಗಬೇಡ.

8 And the book of this law shall not depart out of your mouth, and you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may know how to do all the things that are written [in it]; then shall you prosper, and make your ways prosperous, and then shall you be wise.

ಈ ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮವು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಬಾರದು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹಗಲುರಾತ್ರಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಧ್ಯಾನಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಜಯಶಾಲಿಯಾಗುವೆ.

9 Behold! I have commanded you; be strong and courageous, be not cowardly nor fearful, for the Lord your God is with you in all places whither you go.

ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನಲ್ಲಾ, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿರು. ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರು, ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ, ನಿರುತ್ಸಾಹಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಹೋಗುವ ಕಡೆಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

10 And Joshua commanded the scribes of the people, saying,

ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ:

11 Go into the midst of the camp of the people, and command the people, saying, Prepare provisions; for yet three days and you shall go over this Jordan, entering in to take possession of the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives to you.

“ನೀವು ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಹೋಗಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ, ‘ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಇನ್ನು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕು,’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

12 And to Ruben, and to Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasse, Joshua said,

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ರೂಬೇನ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಗಾದ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಅರ್ಧ ಗೋತ್ರದವರಿಗೂ,

13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, the Lord your God has caused you to rest, and has given you this land.

“ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ‘ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.’

14 Let your wives and your children and your cattle dwell in the land, which he has given you; and you shall go over well armed before your brethren, every one of you who is strong; and you shall fight on their side;

ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಪಶುಗಳು ಮೋಶೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಈಚೆ ಇರುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಲಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯುದ್ಧಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಟು, ನದಿದಾಟಿ,

15 until the Lord your God shall have given your brethren rest, as also to you, and they also shall have inherited the land, which the Lord your God gives them; then you shall depart each one to his inheritance, which Moses gave you beyond Jordan eastward.

ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಪಡಿಸಿ, ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರೆಗೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ತರುವಾಯ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಉದಯಿಸುವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೊತ್ತಾಗಿರುವ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಬಂದು, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

16 And they answered Joshua and said, We will do all things which you command us, and we will go to every place whither you shall send us.

ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನೀನು ನಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡುವೆವು. ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತೀಯೋ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವೆವು.

17 Whereinsoever we listened to Moses we will listen to you; only let the Lord our God be with you, as he was with Moses.

ನಾವು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳುವೆವು. ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಇರಲಿ.

18 And whoever shall disobey you, and whoever shall not listen to your words as you shall command him, let him die; but be you strong and courageous.

ನೀನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಎಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಎದುರು ಬೀಳುವರೋ ಅವರು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿರು, ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರು,” ಎಂದರು.
