Job 25

1 Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,

Da antwortete Bildad, der Schuchiter, und sprach:

2 What beginning or fear is his—even he that makes all things in the highest?

Herrschaft und Schrecken sind bei Ihm; Frieden schafft Er in seinen Höhen.

3 For let none think that there is a respite for robbers: and upon whom will there not come a snare from him?

Sind seine Scharen zu zählen? Und über wem erhebt sich nicht sein Licht?

4 For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

Wie kann aber der Sterbliche gerecht sein vor Gott, und wie will der rein sein, der vom Weibe geboren ist?

5 If he gives an order to the moon, then it shines not; and the stars are not pure before him.

Siehe, sogar der Mond leuchtet nicht helle, und die Sterne sind nicht rein vor ihm,

6 But alas! man is corruption, and the son of man a worm.

wie viel weniger der Sterbliche, der Wurm, und das Menschenkind, das nur ein Würmlein ist?
