Osee 12
1 But Ephraim is an evil spirit, he has chased the east wind all the day: he has multiplied empty and vain things, and made a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil has gone in the way of traffic into Egypt.
Ephraim weidet sich an Wind und jagt dem Ostwinde nach; den ganzen Tag mehrt es Lüge und Gewalttat; und sie schließen einen Bund mit Assyrien, und Öl wird nach Ägypten gebracht.
2 And the Lord [has] a controversy with Juda, in order to punish Jacob: according to his ways and according to his practices will he recompense him.
Auch mit Juda hat Jehova einen Rechtsstreit; und er wird Jakob heimsuchen nach seinen Wegen, nach seinen Handlungen ihm vergelten. -
3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his labours he had power with God.
Im Mutterleibe hielt er seines Bruders Ferse, und in seiner Manneskraft kämpfte er mit Gott [El]:
4 And he prevailed with the angel and was strong: they wept, and entreated me: they found me in the house of On, and there [a word] was spoken to them.
er kämpfte mit dem Engel und überwand, er weinte und flehte zu ihm; zu Bethel fand er ihn, und daselbst redete er mit uns.
5 But the Lord God Almighty shall be his memorial.
Und Jehova, der Gott der Heerscharen-Jehova ist sein Gedenkname [Eig. sein Gedächtnis.]
6 You therefore shall return to your God: keep you mercy and judgement, and draw near to your God continually.
Du denn, kehre um zu deinem Gott; bewahre Güte und Recht, und hoffe beständig auf deinen Gott.
7 [As for] Chanaan, in his hand is a balance of unrighteousness: he has loved to tyrannize.
Ein Kaufmann ist er; in seiner Hand ist eine Waage des Betrugs, er liebt zu übervorteilen.
8 And Ephraim said, Nevertheless I am rich, I have found refreshment to myself. None of his labours shall be found [available] to him, by reason of the sins which he has committed.
Und Ephraim spricht: ich bin doch reich geworden, habe mir Vermögen erworben; in all meinem Erwerb wird man mir keine Ungerechtigkeit nachweisen [Eig. finden, ] welche Sünde wäre.
9 But I the Lord your God brought you up out of the land of Egypt: I will yet cause you to dwell in tabernacles, according to the days of the feast.
Ich aber bin Jehova, dein Gott, vom Lande Ägypten her; ich werde dich wieder in Zelten wohnen lassen wie in den Tagen der Festfeier.
10 And I will speak to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by the means of the prophets I was represented.
Und ich habe zu den Propheten geredet, ja, ich habe Gesichte vermehrt und durch die Propheten in Gleichnissen geredet.
11 If Galaad exists not, then the chiefs in Galaad when they sacrificed were false, and their altars were as heaps on the ground of the field.
Wenn Gilead [S. Kap. 6,8] Frevel [O. Nichtswürdigkeit, Nichtigkeit] ist, so werden sie nur Nichtiges werden. In Gilgal opferten sie Stiere; so werden auch ihre Altäre wie Steinhaufen sein auf den Furchen des Feldes.
12 And Jacob retreated into the plain of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and waited for a wife.
Und Jakob entfloh nach dem Gefilde von Aram, und Israel diente um ein Weib und hütete um ein Weib.
13 And the Lord brought Israel out of the land of Egypt by a prophet, and by a prophet was he preserve.
Und Jehova führte Israel durch einen Propheten aus Ägypten herauf, und durch einen Propheten wurde es gehütet.
14 Ephraim was angry and excited, therefore his blood shall be poured out upon him, and the Lord shall recompense to him his reproach.
Ephraim erzürnte ihn bitterlich, und sein Herr wird seine Blutschuld auf ihm lassen und seine Schmähung ihm vergelten.
