Deuteronomy 22
1 When you see the calf of your brother or his sheep wandering in the way, you shall not overlook them; you shall by all means turn them back to your brother, and you shall restore them to him.
૧તમારા ભાઈના ભૂલા પડી ગયેલા બળદ કે ઘેટાંને જોઈને તારે સંતાવું નહિ, તમારે તેને તેના માલિકની પાસે પાછું લાવવું.
2 And if your brother do not come near you, and you do not know him, you shall bring it into your house within; and it shall be with you until your brother shall seek them, and you shall restore them to him.
૨જો તમારો ઇઝરાયલી સાથી નજીકમાં રહેતો ન હોય, કે તમે તેને ઓળખતા ન હોય, તો તે પશુને તમારે પોતાને ઘરે લઈ જવું અને તે શોધતો આવે ત્યાં સુધી તમારી પાસે રાખવું. જ્યારે તે આવે ત્યારે તમારે તેને તે પાછું સોંપવું.
3 Thus shall you do to his ass, and thus shall you do to his garment, and thus shall you do to every thing that your brother has lost; whatever shall have been lost by him, and you shall have found, you shall not have power to overlook.
૩તેનાં ગધેડાં, વસ્ત્રો તથા તમારા સાથી ઇઝરાયલીની ખોવાયેલી કોઈ વસ્તુ તમને મળી આવે તો તેના માટે પણ તમારે આમ જ કરવું, તમારે તેનાથી સંતાવું નહિ.
4 You shall not see the ass of your brother, or his calf, fallen in the way: you shall not overlook them, you shall surely help him to raise them up.
૪તમારા ઇઝરાયલી સાથીના ગધેડાને કે બળદને રસ્તામાં પડી ગયેલું જોઈને તમે તેઓથી પોતાને અળગા રાખશો નહિ; તમારે તેને ફરીથી ઊભું કરવામાં સહાય કરવી.
5 The apparel of a man shall not be on a woman, neither shall a man put on a woman's dress; for every one that does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
૫સ્ત્રીએ પુરુષનાં વસ્ત્રો પહેરવાં નહિ, તેમ જ પુરુષે સ્ત્રીનાં વસ્ત્રો પહેરવાં નહિ; કેમ કે, જે કોઈ એવું કામ કરે છે તે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરને ઘૃણાસ્પદ લાગે છે.
6 And if you should come upon a brood of birds before your face in the way or upon any tree, or upon the earth, young or eggs, and the mother be brooding on the young or the eggs, you shall not take the dam with the young ones.
૬જો માર્ગે જતાં કોઈ પક્ષીનો માળો જમીન પર કે વૃક્ષ પર તમારા જોવામાં આવે, તેની અંદર બચ્ચાં કે ઈંડાં હોય, માતા બચ્ચાં પર બેઠેલી હોય તો તમારે માતાને બચ્ચાં સાથે લેવી નહિ.
7 You shall by all means let the mother go, but you shall take the young to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may live long.
૭તમે બચ્ચાં લો, પણ માતાને રહેવા દો. જો તમે આમ કરશે તો તમારું ભલું થશે અને તમારા આયુષ્યનાં દિવસો લાંબા થશે.
8 If you should build a new house, then shall you make a parapet to your house; so you shall not bring blood-guiltiness upon your house, if one should in any wise fall from it.
૮જયારે તમે નવું ઘર બાંધે ત્યારે તમારે અગાશીની ચારે ફરતે પાળ બાંધવી, કે જેથી ત્યાંથી કોઈ પડી ન જાય અને તમારા ઘર પર લોહીનો દોષ ન આવે.
9 You shall not sow your vineyard with diverse seed, lest the fruit be devoted, and whatever seed you may sow, with the fruit of your vineyard.
૯તમારી દ્રાક્ષની વાડીઓમાં બે જુદી જાતનું બીજ વાવવું નહિ; નહિ તો બધી જ દ્રાક્ષવાડીની ઉપજ તેમ જ જે કંઈ વાવ્યું હશે તે ડૂલ થાય.
10 You shall not plough with an ox and an ass together.
૧૦બળદ તથા ગધેડા બન્નેને એક સાથે જોડીને તું હળ વડે ખેતી ન કર.
11 You shall not wear a mingled [garment], woollen and linen together.
૧૧ઊન તથા શણનું મિશ્રણ હોય તેવાં વસ્ત્ર પહેરવાં નહિ.
12 You shall make fringes on the four borders of your garments, with which soever you may be clothed.
૧૨જે ઝભ્ભો તું પહેરે છે તેની ચારે બાજુની કિનારે સુશોભિત ઝાલર મૂકવી.
13 And if any one should take a wife, and dwell with her, and hate her,
૧૩જો કોઈ પુરુષ સ્ત્રી સાથે લગ્ન કરે, તેની પાસે જાય, પછી તેને ધિક્કારે,
14 and attach to her reproachful words, and bring against her an evil name, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her I found not her tokens of virginity:
૧૪તેને બદનામ કરીને તેના પર ખોટા આરોપ મૂકીને કહે કે, “મેં આ સ્ત્રી સાથે લગ્ન કર્યા અને તેની પાસે ગયો, ત્યારે મેં જોયું તો તેનામાં કૌમાર્યનાં કોઈ ચિહ્ન મને મળ્યાં નહિ.”
15 then the father and the mother of the damsel shall take and bring out the damsel's tokens of virginity to the elders of the city to the gate.
૧૫તો તે કન્યાના માતાપિતા તેના કૌમાર્યનાં પુરાવા ગામના વડીલો પાસે લાવે.
16 And the father of the damsel shall say to the elders, I gave this my daughter to this man for a wife;
૧૬અને કન્યાના પિતા ગામના વડીલોને કહે કે, “મેં મારી દીકરીને આ પુરુષને પરણાવી, હવે તે તેને ધિક્કારે છે.”
17 and now he has hated her, and attaches reproachful words to her, saying, I have not found tokens of virginity with your daughter; and these [are] the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall unfold the garment before the elders of the city.
૧૭જો તે તેના પર ખોટા આરોપ મૂકીને કહે છે કે, “મને તમારી દીકરીમાં કૌમાર્યનાં પુરાવા મળ્યા નથી પણ મારી દીકરીના કૌમાર્યના પુરાવા આ રહ્યા.” પછી તેઓ ગામના વડીલો આગળ ચાદર પાથરે.
18 And the elders of that city shall take that man, and shall chastise him,
૧૮ત્યારે તે નગરના વડીલો તે પુરુષને પકડીને સજા કરે;
19 and shall fine him a hundred shekels, and shall give [them] to the father of the damsel, because he has brought forth an evil name against a virgin of Israel; and she shall be his wife: he shall never be able to put her away.
૧૯તેઓ તેને સો શેકેલ ચાંદીનો દંડ કરે, તે કન્યાના પિતાને આપે, કેમ કે તે પુરુષે ઇઝરાયલની કન્યા પર ખોટા આરોપ મૂક્યો છે. તે હંમેશા તેની પત્ની તરીકે રહે; તેના બધા દિવસો દરમિયાન તે તેને દૂર કરી શકે નહિ.
20 But if this report be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel;
૨૦પણ જો આ વાત સાચી હોય અને તે કન્યામાં કૌમાર્યના પુરાવા મળ્યા ન હોય,
21 then shall they bring out the damsel to the doors of her father's house, and shall stone her with stones, and she shall die; because she has wrought folly amongst the children of Israel, to defile the house of her father by whoring: so you shall remove the evil one from amongst you.
૨૧તો તેઓ તે કન્યાને તેના પિતાના ઘરના બારણા આગળ લાવે અને તે ગામના લોકો તે સ્ત્રીને પથ્થરે મારીને મારી નાખે, કેમ કે, તેણે તેના પિતાના ઘરમાં વ્યભિચાર કરીને ઇઝરાયલમાં શરમજનક કૃત્ય કર્યું છે. આ રીતે તારે તારી મધ્યેથી દુષ્ટતા દૂર કરવી.
22 And if a man be found lying with a woman married to a man, you shall kill them both, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shall you remove the wicked one out of Israel.
૨૨જો કોઈ પુરુષ પરિણીત સ્ત્રી સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરતાં જોવા મળે, તો તેઓ એટલે કે તે સ્ત્રી તથા વ્યભિચાર કરનાર પુરુષ બન્ને માર્યા જાય. આ રીતે તારે ઇઝરાયલમાંથી દુષ્ટતા દૂર કરવી.
23 And if there be a young damsel espoused to a man, and a man should have found her in the city and have lain with her;
૨૩જો કોઈ કન્યાની સગાઈ કોઈ પુરુષ સાથે થઈ હોય અને જો અન્ય પુરુષ તેને નગરમાં મળીને તેની સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરે,
24 you shall bring them both out to the gate of their city, and they shall be stoned with stones, and they shall die; the damsel, because she cried not in the city; and the man, because he humbled his neighbour's spouse: so shall you remove the evil one from yourselves.
૨૪તો તમારે તે બન્નેને ગામના દરવાજા આગળ લાવીને પથ્થર મારીને મારી નાખવાં. કન્યાને પથ્થરે મારવી, કેમ કે તે નગરમાં હતી છતાં પણ તેણે બૂમ પાડી નહિ. અને પુરુષને પથ્થરે મારવો, કેમ કે તેણે ઇઝરાયલી પડોશીની પત્નીનું અપમાન કર્યું છે. આ રીતે તારી મધ્યેથી દુષ્ટતા દૂર કરવી.
25 But if a man find in the field a damsel that is betrothed, and he should force her and lie with her, you shall kill the man that lay with her only.
૨૫પણ જો કોઈ પુરુષ સગાઈ કરેલી કન્યાને ખેતરમાં મળે, જો તે તેની સાથે બળજબરી કરીને વ્યભિચાર કરે, તો ફક્ત તેની સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરનાર પુરુષ જ માર્યો જાય.
26 And the damsel has not [committed] a sin worthy of death; as if a man should rise up against his neighbour, and kill him, so [is] this thing;
૨૬પણ તે કન્યાને તમારે કંઈ કરવું નહિ; મરણયોગ્ય કોઈ પાપ કન્યાએ કર્યું નથી. આ તો કોઈ માણસ તેના પડોશી વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠીને તેને મારી નાખે તેના જેવી તે વાત છે.
27 because he found her in the field; the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to help her.
૨૭કેમ કે તે તેને ખેતરમાં મળી; સગાઈ કરેલી કન્યાએ બૂમ પાડી, પણ ત્યાં તેને બચાવનાર કોઈ ન હતું.
28 And if any one should find a young virgin who has not been betrothed, and should force [her] and lie with her, and be found,
૨૮વળી જો કોઈ પુરુષ કુંવારી કન્યા કે જેની સગાઈ કરેલી નથી, તેને પકડીને તેની સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરતાં તેઓ પકડાય;
29 the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the damsel fifty silver didrachmas, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her; he shall never be able to put her away.
૨૯તો તે કન્યા સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરનાર તે પુરુષ તે કન્યાના પિતાને પચાસ શેકેલ ચાંદી આપે. તે તેની પત્ની થાય, વળી તેણે આબરુ લીધી છે. તેના આખા આયુષ્યભર માટે તે કદી તેને છૂટાછેડા આપે નહિ.
30 A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.
૩૦કોઈ પણ પુરુષે પોતાના પિતાની પત્ની સાથે વ્યભિચાર કરવો નહિ, તેમ પોતાના પિતાની નિવસ્ત્રતા જોવી નહિ.
