Chronicles II 27
1 Joatham [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Jerusa, daughter of Sadoc.
Fünfundzwanzig [2. Kön. 15,32] Jahre war Jotham alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem; und der Name seiner Mutter war Jeruscha, die Tochter Zadoks.
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Ozias did: but he went not into the temple of the Lord. And still the people corrupted themselves.
Und er tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas, nach allem, was sein Vater Ussija getan hatte; nur ging er nicht in den Tempel Jehovas. Aber das Volk handelte noch verderbt.
3 He built the high gate of the house of the Lord, and he built much in the wall of Opel.
Er baute das obere Tor des Hauses Jehovas; auch an der Mauer des Ophel [d. h. Hügel; ein Stadtteil am südöstlichen Abhang des Tempelberges] baute er viel.
4 In the mountain of Juda, and in the woods, [he built] both dwelling-places and towers.
Und er baute Städte im Gebirge Juda; und in den Wäldern baute er Burgen und Türme.
5 He fought against the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against him: and the children of Ammon gave him even annually a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. These the king of the children of Ammon brought to him annually in the first and second and third years.
Und er stritt mit dem König der Kinder Ammon und überwand sie; und die Kinder Ammon gaben ihm in selbigem Jahre 1000 Talente Silber und 10000 Kor Weizen und 10000 Kor Gerste. Das entrichteten ihm die Kinder Ammon auch im zweiten und im dritten Jahre.
6 Joatham grew strong, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.
Und Jotham erstarkte; denn er richtete seine Wege vor dem Angesicht Jehovas, seines Gottes.
7 And the rest of the acts of Joatham, and his war, and his deeds, behold, [they are] written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Jothams, und alle seine Kriege und seine Wege, siehe, sie sind geschrieben in dem Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda.
Jahre war er alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem.
9 And Joatham slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.
Und Jotham legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt Davids. Und Ahas, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
