Chronicles I 26

1 And for the divisions of the gates: the sons of the Corites [were] Mosellemia, of the sons of Asaph.

Voici les classes des portiers: Des Coréïtes: Mésélémia, fils de Coré, d’entre les fils d’Asaph. —

2 And Mosellemia's firstborn son [was] Zacharias, the second Jadiel, the third Zabadia, the fourth Jenuel,

Fils de Mésélémia: Zacharias, le premier-né; Jadihel le deuxième, Zabadias le troisième, Jathanaël le quatrième,

3 the fifth Jolam, the sixth Jonathan, the seventh Elionai, the eighth Abdedom.

Elam le cinquième, Johanan le sixième, Elioénaï le septième. —

4 And to Abdedom [there were born] sons, Samaias the firstborn, Jozabath the second, Joath the third, Sachar the fourth, Nathanael the fifth,

Fils d’Obédédom: Séméïas, le premier-né; Jozabad le deuxième, Joaha le troisième, Sachar le quatrième, Nathanaël le cinquième,

5 Amiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Phelathi the eighth: for God blessed him.

Ammiel le sixième, Issachar le septième, Phollathi le huitième; car Dieu avait béni Obédédom. —

6 And to Samaias his son were born the sons of his firstborn, chiefs over the house of their father, for they were mighty.

A Séméïas, son fils, naquirent des fils qui furent chefs dans la maison de leur père, car ils étaient de vaillants hommes.

7 The sons of Samai; Othni, and Raphael, and Obed, and Elzabath, and Achiud, mighty men, Heliu, and Sabachia, and Isbacom.

Fils de Séméïas: Othni, Raphaël, Obed, Elzabad et ses frères, hommes vaillants, Eliu et Samachias.

8 All [these were] of the sons of Abdedom, they and their sons and their brethren, doing mightily in service: in all sixty-two [born] to Abdedom.

Tous ceux-là étaient des fils d’Obédédom; eux, leurs fils et leurs frères, hommes braves et forts pour le service, étaient au nombre de soixante-deux, issus d’Obédédom.

9 And Mosellemia [had] eighteen sons and brethren, mighty men.

Mésélémia avait des fils et des frères, hommes vaillants, au nombre de dix-huit.

10 And to Osa of the sons of Merari [there were born] sons, keeping the dominion; though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him chief of the second division.

Hosa, des fils de Mérari, avait pour fils: Semri, le chef: il n’était pas le premier-né, mais son père l’avait établi chef;

11 Chelcias the second, Tablai the third, Zacharias the fourth: all these [were] the sons and brethren of Osa, thirteen.

Helcias le second, Tabélias le troisième, Zacharias le quatrième. Tous les fils et les frères de Hosa étaient au nombre de treize.

12 To these [were assigned] the divisions of the gates, to the chiefs of the mighty men the daily courses, even their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.

Ces classes de portiers, les chefs de ces hommes, avaient, à côté de leurs frères, des fonctions pour le service de la maison de Yahweh.

13 And they cast lots for the small as well as for the great, for the several gates, according to their families.

Ils tirèrent les sorts pour chaque porte, petits et grands, selon leurs familles.

14 And the lot of the east gates fell to Selemias, and Zacharias: the sons of Soaz cast lots for Melchias, and the lot came out northward.

Le sort pour le côté de l’orient échut à Sélémias. On tira au sort pour Zacharias, son fils, qui était un sage conseiller, et le côté du septentrion lui échut.

15 To Abdedom [they gave by lot] the south, opposite the house of Esephim.

Le côté du midi échut à Obédédom, et la maison des magasins à ses fils.

16 [They gave the lot] for the second to Osa westward, after the gate of the chamber by the ascent, watch against watch.

A Séphim et à Hosa échut le côté de l’occident, près de la porte Schalléketh, sur le chemin montant: une garde était en face de l’autre.

17 Eastward [were] six [watchmen] in the day; northward four by the day; southward four by the day; and two at the Esephim,

Il y avait à l’orient six lévites, au septentrion quatre par jour, au midi quatre par jour, et quatre aux magasins, deux à deux;

18 to relieve guard, also for Osa westward after the chamber-gate, three. [There was] a ward over against the ward of the ascent eastward, six [men] in a day, and four for the north, and four for the south, and at the Esephim two to relieve guard, and four by the west, and two to relieve guard at the pathway.

du côté des dépendances, à l’occident, quatre vers le chemin, deux aux dépendances. —

19 These [are] the divisions of the porters for the sons of Core, and to the sons of Merari.

Telles sont les classes des portiers, d’entre les fils des Coréïtes et les fils de Mérari.

20 And the Levites their brethren [were] over the treasures of the house of the Lord, and over the treasures of the hallowed things.

Les lévites, leurs frères, avaient l’intendance des trésors de la maison de Dieu et des trésors des choses consacrées.

21 These [were] the sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gersonite: to Ladan [belonged] the heads of the families: [the son] of Ladan the Gersonite [was] Jeiel.

Parmi les fils de Lédan, savoir les fils des Gersonites issus de Lédan, chefs des familles de Lédan le Gersonite, c’était Jéhiel;

22 The sons of Jeiel [were] Zethom, and Joel; brethren [who were] over the treasures of the house of the Lord.

les fils de Jéhiel, Zathan et Joël, son frère, avaient l’intendance des trésors de la maison de Yahweh.

23 To Ambram and Issaar belonged Chebron, and Oziel.

Parmi les Amramites, les Isaarites, les Hébronites et les Ozihélites,

24 And Subael the [son] of Gersam, the [son] of Moses, [was] over the treasures.

c’était Subuël, fils de Gersom, fils de Moïse, qui était l’intendant en chef des trésors.

25 And Rabias [was] son to his brother Eliezer, and [so was] Josias, and Joram, and Zechri, and Salomoth.

Parmi ses frères issus d’Eliézer, dont le fils fut Rahabia, dont le fils fut Isaïas, dont le fils fut Joram, dont le fils fut Zéchri, dont le fils fut Sélémith,

26 This Salomoth and his brethren [were] over all the sacred treasures, which David the king and the heads of families consecrated, [and] the captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, and princes of the host,

c’étaient Sélémith et ses frères qui avaient l’intendance de tous les trésors des choses saintes qu’avaient consacrées le roi David, les chefs de famille, avec les chefs de milliers et de centaines et les chefs de l’armée:

27 things which he took out of cities and from the spoils, and consecrated some of them, so that the building of the house of God should not lack [supplies];

ils les avaient consacrées sur le butin pris à la guerre, pour l’entretien de la maison de Yahweh.

28 and over all the holy things of God dedicated by Samuel the prophet, and Saul the son of Kis, and Abenner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Saruia, whatever they sanctified [was] by the hand of Salomoth and his brethren.

Tout ce qu’avaient consacré Samuel, le voyant, Saül, fils de Cis, Abner, fils de Ner, Joab, fils de Sarvia, ou tout autre, était sous la main de Sélémith et de ses frères.

29 For the Issaarites, Chonenia, and [his] sons [were over] the outward ministration over Israel, to record and to judge.

Parmi les Isaarites, Chonénias et ses fils étaient employés pour les affaires extérieures en Israël, comme scribes et comme magistrats.

30 For the Chebronites, Asabias and his brethren, a thousand and seven hundred mighty men, [were] over the charge of Israel beyond Jordan westward, for all the service of the Lord and work of the king.

Parmi les Hébronites, Hasabias et ses frères, hommes vaillants, au nombre de mille sept cents, avaient la surveillance d’Israël de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’occident, pour toutes les affaires de Yahweh et le service du roi.

31 Of the [family] of Chebron Urias [was] chief, even of the Chebronites according to their generations, according to their families. In the forties year of his reign they were numbered, and there were found mighty men amongst them in Jazer of Galaad.

Pour les Hébronites, Jéria était le chef, — Pour les Hébronites, selon leurs généalogies, par familles, on fit des recherches, la quarantième année du règne de David, et l’on trouva parmi eux de vaillants hommes à Jazer en Galaad, —

32 And his brethren [were] two thousand and seven hundred mighty men, chiefs of their families, and king David set them over the Rubenites, and the Gaddites, and the half-tribe of Manasse, for every ordinance of the Lord, and business of the king.

et ses frères, hommes vaillants, étaient au nombre de deux mille sept cents chefs de famille. Le roi David les établit sur les Rubénites, sur les Gadites et sur la demi-tribu de Manassé pour toutes les affaires de Dieu et les affaires du roi.
