< Proverbs 24 >

1 Have no envy for evil men, or any desire to be with them:
Miphalou ho umchan thangse hih in, chule hitobang miho chu kiloipi din jong ngaicha hih-in.
2 For the purposes of their hearts are destruction, and their lips are talking of trouble.
Ajeh chu alung thim un thilse jeng agong un, akamdung uva jou le nal jeng aseijun ahi.
3 The building of a house is by wisdom, and by reason it is made strong:
Chihna jeh chun in akisadoh jin, chule hetkhen themna jal-a kitungdet ji ahi.
4 And by knowledge its rooms are full of all dear and pleasing things.
Hetkhen themna akon insung dan jousea, thil manlutah tah le; lung lhaina thilpha chom haona dimset-ji ahi.
5 A wise man is strong; and a man of knowledge makes strength greater.
Miching chu mi thahat sang in ahat jon, hetna nei mi jong atha hatpa sang in ahat cheh jin ahi.
6 For by wise guiding you will overcome in war: and in a number of wise guides there is salvation.
Ijeh-inem itileh lungthim thepna jal-a gal kisatji ahin, chule gal jona jong thumop them hoa kingam ahi.
7 Wisdom is outside the power of the foolish: he keeps his mouth shut in the public place.
Chihna hi mingol ho din meiphah ahipon, thutanna kotpi mai lah’a jong seiding abei jitauve.
8 He whose purposes are bad will be named a man of evil designs.
Koi hileh thilse bol ding ngaito chan chu, jou le nal-a natongpa tia kikou ding ahi.
9 The purpose of the foolish is sin: and the hater of authority is disgusting to others.
Mingol ho thilse gonhi chonset ahin, mi ahilou lam’a tot chaveipa jong mi jousen athet ahibouve.
10 If you give way in the day of trouble, your strength is small.
Kidoupin nahin phah nikho teng jongleh lung lhadai hih in, ajeh chu lhahsamna’a nanei cheh ding ahibouve.
11 Be the saviour of those who are given up to death, and do not keep back help from those who are slipping to destruction.
Thina lam jon-a kijot hokhu huhhing loijin, chule min athagamna dinga kipal-lhu ho jong huhdoh loijin.
12 If you say, See, we had no knowledge of this: does not the tester of hearts give thought to it? and he who keeps your soul, has he no knowledge of it? and will he not give to every man the reward of his work?
Nangman, “vetem in, keihon hiche hi kathei phapouve,” tin nasei in, Ama bouvin mihem lungthim akholchil-a ahet chin ji hilou ham? Nalhagao vea ching jing pan hitobang hi amelchih jing hilou ham? Aman mihem koi hileh atoh dungjui cheh-a lethuhna anei ding hilou ham?
13 My son, take honey, for it is good; and the flowing honey, which is sweet to your taste:
Kachapa, khoiju hi don in atui lheh jeng e, khoi-phanga apat hungpot khoiju hi nele chun alhum’a lhum ahi.
14 So let your desire be for wisdom: if you have it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Chihna kiti hi nalhagao dinga hiche tobang chu ahi. Chule chihna hi namu jouva ahileh khonung dinga phachom tah ahi.
15 Do not keep a secret watch, O evil-doer, against the fields of the upright man, or send destruction on his resting-place:
Miphalou bang in midihpa chu a-in pang dunga ga chang lhih hih in, midihpa in jong chomding gohih hel in.
16 For an upright man, after falling seven times, will get up again: but trouble is the downfall of the evil.
Ijeh-inem itileh midih kiti hi vel sagi jen lhu jongleh, athoudoh thei jin, hinlah miphalou ho chunga hamsetna ahung lhun teng akhup athal in aleh jitai.
17 Do not be glad at the fall of your hater, and let not your heart have joy at his downfall:
Namelma akipal lhuh teng kipanan neihih hel in, aman kipal lhuhna ato khah jongleh kipa thanopna’a nanei lou ding ahi.
18 For fear that the Lord may see it, and it may be evil in his eyes, and his wrath may be turned away from him.
Ajeh chu Pakaiyin hin mudoh leh, lunghanna’a anei loding ahi. Hijeh chun ama kon chun Pakai lunghanna peldoh in.
19 Do not be troubled because of evil-doers, or have envy of sinners:
Thilse bol ho jeh in nang le nang kisih hih in, chule achon chan-u jong thangsetpi dan.
20 For there will be no future for the evil man; the light of sinners will be put out.
Ajeh chu miphalou ding in khonung thua kinepna abeijin, chule migilou ho thaomei kimut mit peh tei ding ahi.
21 My son, go in fear of the Lord and the king: have nothing to do with those who are in high positions:
Kachapa, Pakai le lengpa ging in lang, Anitah lhon-a athua nanun ding ahi.
22 For their downfall will come suddenly; and who has knowledge of the destruction of those in high positions?
Ajeh chu Amania kon hetman louva hamsetna hung lhung ding, Pakai le lengpa’a kon hung lhung ding manthahna chu koiman ahethei him him poi.
23 These are more sayings of the wise: To have respect for a person's position when judging is not good.
Hicheho jouse jong hi miching ho thusei ahisoh keijin: Thutan-a langneina nei kiti jong hi thildih ahipoi.
24 He who says to the evil-doer, You are upright, will be cursed by peoples and hated by nations.
Migiloupa kom’a, “Nangman themmona nanei poi,” tia sei chu, mitin vaipi gaosap chang ding, namtin in athet ding ahi.
25 But those who say sharp words to him will have delight, and a blessing of good will come on them.
Miphalou phohsal pachu kipah thanom’a um ding, chule hitobang mi chunga chu phattheina lhung ding ahi.
26 He gives a kiss with his lips who gives a right answer.
Thu kitohdel-a donbutna chu kigolngai kibeng chop avetsah ahi.
27 Put your work in order outside, and make it ready in the field; and after that, see to the building of your house.
Polam’a natoh ding abonchan kigontoh in lang, chule lou laiya natohna ding aboncha naki gonsoh keija; chujou tengleh na chenna ding in sapan tan.
28 Do not be a violent witness against your neighbour, or let your lips say what is false.
Ajeh beijin naheng nakom dounan hettohsah in pang hih in, nakam sunga jouthu jong seitahih in.
29 Say not, I will do to him as he has done to me; I will give the man the reward of his work.
Mi kom’a “Kachunga anatoh bang banga keiman jong achunga katoh ding ahi; chule anatoh bang banga kalethuh tei ding ahi,” tinjong seidan.
30 I went by the field of the hater of work, and by the vine-garden of the man without sense;
Keiman mithase khat loulai kahin jot pan, lungthimbei mikhat lengpilei kaho pan ahi.
31 And it was all full of thorns, and covered with waste plants, and its stone wall was broken down.
Hiche loulai chu apum chang in lingle khao akhul lha jeng in, atollham jenga jong ling adimset in, apal jong achimsoh tan ahi.
32 Then looking at it, I gave thought: I saw, and I got teaching from it.
Hichun keiman kaven kagel in, hichea kon hin kihilna khat kaki mudoh in ahi.
33 A little sleep, a little rest, a little folding of the hands in sleep:
Jalkhun a imut jengseh, kichol ding bouseh, chule khut teni umthim sah-a kichol ding kati tai.
34 So loss will come on you like an outlaw, and your need like an armed man.
Gucha le michom in mi abulhu banga vaichat nan nahin lhun den ding, nahin delkhumpa bang banga kel thoa um ding nahitai.
