Genesis 8
1 And God kept Noah in mind, and all the living things and the cattle which were with him in the ark: and God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters went down.
Entonces ʼElohim se acordó de Noé, de todo ser viviente y de todos los animales que estaban con él en el arca. Y ʼElohim hizo soplar un viento sobre la tierra y las aguas decrecieron.
2 And the fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were shut, and the rain from heaven was stopped.
Las fuentes del abismo y las compuertas de los cielos fueron cerradas, y la lluvia del cielo fue detenida.
3 And the waters went slowly back from the earth, and at the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters were lower.
Entonces las aguas retrocedían de sobre la tierra, iban y venían. Al completarse los 150 días las aguas disminuyeron.
4 And on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
El día 17 del mes séptimo, el arca se posó sobre las montañas de Ararat.
5 And still the waters went on falling, till on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains were seen.
Las aguas siguieron en descenso hasta el décimo mes. El primer día del décimo mes se descubrieron las cumbres de las montañas.
6 Then, after forty days, through the open window of the ark which he had made,
Ocurrió después de 40 días que Noé abrió la ventana que hizo en el arca.
7 Noah sent out a raven, which went this way and that till the waters were gone from the earth.
Envió un cuervo, el cual iba y regresaba hasta que se secaron las aguas de sobre la tierra.
8 And he sent out a dove, to see if the waters had gone from the face of the earth;
Luego envió una paloma para ver si las aguas de la superficie de la tierra habían menguado.
9 But the dove saw no resting-place for her foot, and came back to the ark, for the waters were still over all the earth; and he put out his hand, and took her into the ark.
Pero la paloma no halló lugar de reposo, y volvió a él, al arca, porque había agua sobre la superficie de toda la tierra. Entonces él extendió su mano, la tomó y la introdujo consigo en el arca.
10 And after waiting another seven days, he sent the dove out again;
Esperó ansiosamente aún otros siete días, y volvió a enviar la paloma desde el arca.
11 And the dove came back at evening, and in her mouth was an olive-leaf broken off: so Noah was certain that the waters had gone down on the earth.
La paloma volvió a él por la tarde y llevó una hoja fresca de olivo en su pico. Así Noé entendió que las aguas habían menguado de sobre la tierra.
12 And after seven days more, he sent the dove out again, but she did not come back to him.
Esperó ansiosamente aún otros siete días y envió la paloma, la cual no volvió más a él.
13 And in the six hundred and first year, on the first day of the first month, the waters were dry on the earth: and Noah took the cover off the ark and saw that the face of the earth was dry.
Aconteció que el primer día del primer mes del año 601, las aguas comenzaron a drenar de sobre la tierra. Entonces Noé ordenó apartar la cubierta del arca y, al mirar, observó que la superficie de la tierra estaba seca.
14 And on the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was dry.
El día 27 del segundo mes, la tierra quedó seca.
15 And God said to Noah,
Entonces ʼElohim habló a Noé:
16 Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons' wives.
Sal del arca, tú y contigo tu esposa, tus hijos y las esposas de tus hijos.
17 Take out with you every living thing which is with you, birds and cattle and everything which goes on the earth, so that they may have offspring and be fertile and be increased on the earth.
Saca todos los animales de toda especie que están contigo: las aves, el ganado y los reptiles que se arrastran sobre la tierra para que vayan por la tierra, sean fecundos y se multipliquen.
18 And Noah went out with his sons and his wife and his sons' wives;
Noé salió, y con él sus hijos, su esposa y las esposas de sus hijos.
19 And every beast and bird and every living thing of every sort which goes on the earth, went out of the ark.
Salieron del arca todos los animales, todos los reptiles, todas las aves y todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra, según su especie.
20 And Noah made an altar to the Lord, and from every clean beast and bird he made burned offerings on the altar.
Noé construyó un altar a Yavé. Tomó de todo animal limpio y toda ave limpia, y ofreció holocaustos sobre el altar.
21 And when the sweet smell came up to the Lord, he said in his heart, I will not again put a curse on the earth because of man, for the thoughts of man's heart are evil from his earliest days; never again will I send destruction on all living things as I have done.
Yavé percibió el grato olor y dijo en su corazón: No volveré jamás a maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre, porque la inclinación del corazón del hombre es perversa desde su juventud. No volveré, por tanto, a cortar a todo ser viviente como hice.
22 While the earth goes on, seed time and the getting in of the grain, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will not come to an end.
Mientras permanezca la tierra, No cesarán la siembra y la cosecha, El frío y el calor, el verano y el invierno, Y el día y la noche.
A Dove is Sent Forth from the Ark
