2 Kings 13
1 In the twenty-third year of Joash, the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, became king over Israel in Samaria, ruling for seventeen years.
Im dreiundzwanzigsten Jahre Joas', des Sohnes Ahasjas, des Königs von Juda, wurde Joahas, der Sohn Jehus, König über Israel zu Samaria und regierte siebzehn Jahre.
2 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, which he did and made Israel do; he did not keep himself from them.
Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas; und er wandelte den Sünden Jerobeams nach, des Sohnes Nebats, wodurch er Israel sündigen gemacht hatte: er wich nicht davon.
3 So the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he gave them up into the power of Hazael, king of Aram, and into the power of Ben-hadad, the son of Hazael, again and again.
Da entbrannte der Zorn Jehovas wider Israel; und er gab sie in die Hand Hasaels, des Königs von Syrien, und in die Hand Ben-Hadads, des Sohnes Hasaels, alle Tage hindurch.
4 Then Jehoahaz made prayer to the Lord, and the Lord gave ear to him, for he saw how cruelly Israel was crushed by the king of Aram.
Und Joahas flehte Jehova an; und Jehova hörte auf ihn, denn er sah den Druck Israels, denn der König von Syrien drückte sie.
5 (And the Lord gave Israel a saviour, so that they became free from the hands of the Aramaeans; and the children of Israel were living in their tents as in the past.
(Und Jehova gab Israel einen Retter, und sie kamen aus der Hand der Syrer heraus; und die Kinder Israel wohnten in ihren Zelten wie zuvor.
6 But still they did not give up the sin of Jeroboam, which he made Israel do, but went on with it; and there was an image of Asherah in Samaria.)
Dennoch wichen sie nicht von den Sünden des Hauses Jerobeams, wodurch er Israel sündigen gemacht hatte: sie wandelten darin; auch die Aschera blieb in Samaria stehen.)
7 For out of all his army, Jehoahaz had only fifty horsemen and ten carriages and ten thousand footmen; the king of Aram had given them up to destruction, crushing them like dust.
Denn er hatte dem Joahas kein Volk übriggelassen, als nur fünfzig Reiter und zehn Wagen und zehntausend Mann zu Fuß; denn der König von Syrien hatte sie vernichtet und sie gemacht wie den Staub, den man zertritt.
8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all he did, and his great power, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Joahas' und alles, was er getan hat, und seine Macht, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Israel?
9 And Jehoahaz went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in Samaria; and Joash his son became king in his place.
Und Joahas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn zu Samaria. Und Joas, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of the rule of Joash, king of Judah, Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, became king over Israel in Samaria, ruling for sixteen years.
Im siebenunddreißigsten Jahre Joas', des Königs von Juda, wurde Joas, der Sohn des Joahas, König über Israel zu Samaria und regierte sechzehn Jahre.
11 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, not turning away from the sin of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, which he did and made Israel do, but he went on with it.
Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas; er wich nicht von allen Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, wodurch er Israel sündigen gemacht hatte: er wandelte darin.
12 Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all he did, and the force with which he went to war against Amaziah, king of Judah, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Joas' und alles, was er getan, und seine Macht, wie er mit Amazja, dem König von Juda, gestritten hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Israel?
13 And Joash went to rest with his fathers and Jeroboam took his place as king; and Joash was put into the earth in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
Und Joas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und Jerobeam setzte sich auf seinen Thron; und Joas wurde zu Samaria begraben bei den Königen von Israel.
14 Now Elisha became ill with the disease which was the cause of his death: and Joash, king of Israel, came down to him, and weeping over him said, My father, my father, the war-carriages of Israel and its horsemen!
Und Elisa erkrankte an seiner Krankheit, an welcher er starb. Und Joas, der König von Israel, kam zu ihm herab und weinte über seinem Angesicht und sprach: Mein Vater, mein Vater! Wagen Israels und seine Reiter!
15 Then Elisha said to him, Take bow and arrows: and he took bow and arrows.
Da sprach Elisa zu ihm: Hole Bogen und Pfeile. Und er holte ihm Bogen und Pfeile.
16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put your hand on the bow: and he put his hand on it; and Elisha put his hands on the king's hands.
Und er sprach zu dem König von Israel: Lege deine Hand auf den Bogen. Da legte er seine Hand darauf: und Elisa tat seine Hände auf die Hände des Königs.
17 Then he said; Let the window be open to the east: and he got it open. Then Elisha said, Let the arrow go; and he let it go. And he said, The Lord's arrow of salvation, of salvation over Aram; for you will overcome the Aramaeans in Aphek and put an end to them.
Und er sprach: Öffne das Fenster gegen Morgen. Und er öffnete es. Und Elisa sprach: Schieße! Und er schoß. Und er sprach: Ein Pfeil der Rettung von Jehova und ein Pfeil der Rettung wider die Syrer! Und so wirst du die Syrer zu Aphek schlagen bis zur Vernichtung.
18 And he said, Take the arrows: and he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, Send them down into the earth; and he did so three times and no more.
Und er sprach: Nimm die Pfeile. Und er nahm sie. Und er sprach zu dem König von Israel: Schlage auf die Erde! Und er schlug dreimal und hielt inne.
19 Then the man of God was angry with him and said, If you had done it five or six times, then you would have overcome Aram completely; but now you will only overcome them three times.
Da ward der Mann Gottes zornig über ihn und sprach: Du hättest fünf-oder sechsmal schlagen sollen, dann würdest du die Syrer bis zur Vernichtung geschlagen haben; nun aber wirst du die Syrer dreimal schlagen.
20 And death came to Elisha and they put his body into the earth. Now in the spring of the year, armed bands of Moabites frequently came, overrunning the land.
Und Elisa starb, und man begrub ihn. Und es kamen Streifscharen der Moabiter in das Land, als das Jahr anfing.
21 And while they were putting a dead man into the earth, they saw a band coming; and they put the man quickly into the place where Elisha's body was; and the dead man, on touching Elisha's bones, came to life again, and got up on his feet.
Und es geschah, als sie einen Mann begruben, siehe, da sahen sie die Streifschar, und sie warfen den Mann in das Grab Elisas; und als der Mann hineinkam und die Gebeine Elisas berührte, da wurde er lebendig und erhob sich auf seine Füße.
22 And Israel was crushed under the power of Hazael, king of Aram, all the days of Jehoahaz.
Und Hasael, der König von Syrien, bedrückte Israel alle Tage des Joahas.
23 But the Lord was kind to them and had pity on them, caring for them, because of his agreement with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; he would not put them to destruction or send them away from before his face till now.
Aber Jehova erwies ihnen Gnade und erbarmte sich ihrer und wandte sich ihnen zu, wegen seines Bundes mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob; und er wollte sie nicht verderben und warf sie nicht von seinem Angesicht weg bis dahin.
24 Then Hazael, king of Aram, came to his end; and Ben-hadad his son became king in his place.
Und Hasael, der König von Syrien, starb. Und Ben-Hadad, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
25 And Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz, took again from Ben-hadad, the son of Hazael, the towns which he had taken from Jehoahaz his father in war. Three times Jehoash overcame him and got back the towns of Israel.
Da nahm Joas, der Sohn des Joahas, aus der Hand Ben-Hadads, des Sohnes Hasaels, die Städte wieder, welche dieser aus der Hand seines Vaters Joahas im Streit genommen hatte. Dreimal schlug ihn Joas und brachte die Städte Israels wieder zurück.
