< 2 Chronicles 13 >

1 In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.
Ary tamin’ ny taona fahavalo ambin’ ny folo nanjakan’ i Jeroboama mpanjaka no vao nanjakan’ i Abia tamin’ ny Joda.
2 He was king in Jerusalem for three years; his mother's name was Maacah, the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
Telo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Mikaia, zanakavavin’ i Oriela, avy any Gibea. Ary niady Abia sy Jeroboama.
3 And Abijah went out to the fight with an army of men of war, four hundred thousand of his best men; and Jeroboam put his forces in line against him, eight hundred thousand of his best men of war.
Ary Abia niantomboka niady ka nitondra miaramila mahery, dia lehilahy efatra hetsy voafantina; ary Jeroboama kosa nandahatra ny azy hiady aminy, dia lehilahy valo hetsy voafantina, samy mahery avokoa.
4 And Abijah took up his position on Mount Zemaraim, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and said, Give ear to me, O Jeroboam and all Israel:
Ary Abia nijoro teo an-tendrombohitra Zemaraima, izay any amin’ ny tany havoan’ i Efraima, ka nanao hoe: Mihainoa ahy, ry Jeroboama sy ry Isiraely rehetra:
5 Is it not clear to you that the Lord, the God of Israel, gave the rule over Israel to David and to his sons for ever, by an agreement made with salt?
Moa tsy tokony ho fantatrareo va fa nomen’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, ho an’ i Davida mandrakizay ny fanjakan’ ny Isiraely? dia ho azy sy ny taranany amin’ ny fanekena nasiantsira.
6 But Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon, the son of David, took up arms against his lord.
Nefa kosa Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata, mpanompon’ i Solomona, zanak’ i Davida, nitsangana ka niodina tamin’ ny tompony.
7 And certain foolish and good-for-nothing men were joined with him, and made themselves strong against Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, when he was young and untested and not able to keep them back.
Ary koa, nisy olom-poana, tena ratsy fanahy, niangona tao aminy ka nampahery ny tenany hanohitra an-dRehoboama, zanak’ Solomona, raha mbola zaza sy tanora fanahy izy ka tsy nahatohitra azy.
8 And now it is your purpose to put yourselves against the authority which the Lord has put into the hands of the sons of David, and you are a very great number, and you have with you the gold oxen which Jeroboam made to be your gods.
Ary ankehitriny ianareo mikasa hanohitra ny fanjakan’ i Jehovah, izay eo an-tànan’ ny taranak’ i Davida; ary ianareo dia maro be, sady misy ombilahy kely volamena ao aminareo, izay nataon’ i Jeroboama ho andriamanitrareo.
9 And after driving out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron and the Levites, have you not made priests for yourselves as the people of other lands do? so that anyone who comes to make himself priest by offering an ox or seven sheep, may be a priest of those who are no gods.
Tsy efa noroahinareo va ny mpisoron’ i Jehovah, dia ny taranak’ i Arona, sy ny levita, ka nanendry mpisorona ho anareo tahaka ny fanaon’ ny firenena amin’ ny tany hafa ianareo? ka na zovy na zovy mitondra vantotr’ ombilahy sy ondrilahy fito hanokanana ny tenany, dia izy no tonga mpisorona amin’ ireo tsi-Andriamanitra.
10 But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not been turned away from him; we have priests who do the work of the Lord, even the sons of Aaron and the Levites in their places;
Fa ny aminay kosa, dia Jehovah no Andriamanitray ka tsy mba nahafoy Azy izahay; ary ny mpisorona izay manao fanompoam-pivavahana ho an’ i Jehovah, dia ny taranak’ i Arona; ary ny Levita koa manao ny raharahany;
11 By whom burned offerings and perfumes are sent up in smoke before the Lord every morning and every evening; and they put out the holy bread on its table and the gold support for the lights with its lights burning every evening; for we keep the orders given to us by the Lord our God, but you have gone away from him.
ary mandoro fanatitra dorana sy ditin-kazo manitra ho an’ i Jehovah isa-maraina sy isan-kariva izy, ary ny mofo aseho koa alahany eo amin’ ny latabatra tsara, ary ny jiro koa ampirehetiny Isan-kariva ao amin’ ny fanaovan-jiro volamena sy ny lela fanaovan-jirony; fa izahay mitandrina izay nasain’ i Jehovah Andriamanitray hotandremana; fa ianareo kosa nahafoy Azy.
12 And now God is with us at our head, and his priests with their loud horns sounding against you. O children of Israel, do not make war on the Lord, the God of your fathers, for it will not go well for you.
Ary, indro, ato aminay Andriamanitra ho mpitarika anay, ary ny mpisorony sy ny trompetra avo faneno hotsofina mafy hamelezana anareo Ry Zanak’ isiraely ô, aza miady amin’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razanareo; fa tsy hambinina ianareo.
13 But Jeroboam had put some of his men to make a surprise attack on them from the back, so some were facing Judah and others were stationed secretly at their back.
Fa nasain’ i Jeroboama nanompirana no fandehan’ ny otrika mba ho tonga ao aoriany, ka dia izy teo anoloan’ ny Joda, ary ny otrika teo ivohony.
14 And Judah, turning their faces, saw that they were being attacked in front and at the back; and they gave a cry for help to the Lord, while the priests were sounding their horns.
Ary nony nitodika ny Joda, ka, indreo, teo alohany sy teo aoriany ny fahavalo, dia nitaraina tamin’ i Jehovah izy, ary ny mpisorona nitsoka ny trompetra.
15 And the men of Judah gave a loud cry; and at their cry, God put fear into Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
Dia nihoby ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda; ary raha nihoby izy, Andriamanitra dia namely an’ i Jeroboama sy ny Isiraely rehetra teo anoloan’ i Abia sy ny Joda.
16 And the children of Israel went in flight before Judah, and God gave them up into their hands.
Ary ny Zanak’ isiraely nandositra niala teo anoloan’ ny Joda; ary Andriamanitra nanolotra azy ho eo an-tànany,
17 And Abijah and his people put them to death with great destruction: five hundred thousand of the best of Israel were put to the sword.
ka nahafatesan’ i Abia sy ny vahoakany be dia be izy; ary niampatrampatra ny fatin’ ny Isiraely, dia lehilahy dimy hetsy voafantina.
18 So at that time the children of Israel were overcome, and the children of Judah got the better of them, because they put their faith in the Lord, the God of their fathers.
Toy izany no nampietrena ny Zanak’ isiraely fahizay; ary ny taranak’ i Joda no nahery, satria niankina tamin’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razany, izy.
19 And Abijah went after Jeroboam and took some of his towns, Beth-el with its small towns and Jeshanah with its small towns and Ephron with its small towns.
Ary Abia nanenjika an’ i Jeroboama ka nahazo ny tanànany, dia Betela mbamin’ ny zana-bohiny sy Jesana mbamin’ ny zana-bohiny ary Efrona mbamin’ ny zana-bohiny.
20 And Jeroboam did not get back his power again in the life-time of Abijah; and the Lord sent death on him.
Ary Jeroboama tsy naharina intsony tamin’ ny andron’ i Abia; ary Jehovah namely azy, ka dia maty izy.
21 But Abijah became great, and had fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
Ary Abia nitombo hery, ary nanam-bady efatra ambin’ ny folo izy ka niteraka lahy roa amby roa-polo sy vavy enina ambin’ ny folo.
22 And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways and his sayings, are recorded in the account of the prophet Iddo.
Ary ny tantaran’ i Abia sisa mbamin’ ny nataony sy ny teniny dia efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ Ido mpaminany.
