1 Kings 9

1 Now when Solomon came to the end of building the house of the Lord and the king's house, and all Solomon's desires, which he had in mind were effected;

Und es geschah, als Salomo den Bau des Hauses Jehovas und des Hauses des Königs und alles Begehren Salomos, das ihm zu machen gefiel, vollendet hatte,

2 The Lord came to him again in a vision, as he had done at Gibeon;

da erschien Jehova dem Salomo zum zweiten Male, wie er ihm zu Gibeon erschienen war.

3 And the Lord said to him, Your prayers and your requests for grace have come to my ears: I have made holy this house which you have made, and I have put my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there at all times.

Und Jehova sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dein Gebet und dein Flehen gehört, das du vor mir gefleht hast; ich habe dieses Haus, das du gebaut hast, geheiligt, um meinen Namen dahin zu setzen auf ewig; und meine Augen und mein Herz sollen daselbst sein allezeit.

4 As for you, if you will go on your way before me, as David your father did, uprightly and with a true heart, doing what I have given you orders to do, keeping my laws and my decisions;

Und du, wenn du vor mir wandeln wirst, so wie dein Vater David gewandelt hat, in Lauterkeit des Herzens und in Geradheit, daß du tust nach allem, was ich dir geboten habe, und wenn du meine Satzungen und meine Rechte beobachten wirst,

5 Then I will make the seat of your rule over Israel certain for ever, as I gave my word to David your father, saying, You will never be without a man to be king in Israel.

so werde ich den Thron deines Königtums über Israel befestigen ewiglich, so wie ich zu deinem Vater David geredet habe, indem ich sprach: Es soll dir nicht an einem Manne fehlen auf dem Throne Israels.

6 But if you are turned from my ways, you or your children, and do not keep my orders and my laws which I have put before you, but go and make yourselves servants to other gods and give them worship:

Wenn ihr aber, ihr und eure Kinder, euch hinter mir abwenden und meine Gebote, meine Satzungen, die ich euch vorgelegt habe, nicht beobachten werdet, und werdet hingehen und anderen Göttern dienen und euch vor ihnen niederbeugen,

7 Then I will have Israel cut off from the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for myself, I will put away from before my eyes; and Israel will be a public example, and a word of shame among all peoples.

so werde ich Israel ausrotten aus dem Lande, das ich ihnen gegeben; und das Haus, welches ich meinem Namen geheiligt habe, werde ich von meinem Angesicht wegwerfen; und Israel wird zum Sprichwort und zur Spottrede werden unter allen Völkern.

8 And this house will become a mass of broken walls, and everyone who goes by will be overcome with wonder at it and make whistling sounds; and they will say, Why has the Lord done so to this land and to this house?

Und dieses Haus, das erhaben war, jeder, der an demselben vorbeigeht, wird sich entsetzen und zischen. Und man wird sagen: Warum hat Jehova diesem Lande und diesem Hause also getan?

9 And their answer will be, Because they were turned away from the Lord their God, who took their fathers out of the land of Egypt; they took for themselves other gods and gave them worship and became their servants: that is why the Lord has sent all this evil on them.

Und man wird sagen: Darum, daß sie Jehova, ihren Gott, der ihre Väter aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgeführt hat, verlassen und andere Götter angenommen und sich vor ihnen niedergebeugt und ihnen gedient haben: darum hat Jehova all dieses Unglück über sie gebracht.

10 Now at the end of twenty years, in which time Solomon had put up the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king's house,

Und es geschah am Ende von zwanzig Jahren, während welcher Salomo die beiden Häuser, das Haus Jehovas und das Haus des Königs, gebaut hatte

11 (Hiram, king of Tyre, had given Solomon cedar-trees and cypress-trees and gold, as much as he had need of, ) King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the land of Galilee.

Hiram, der König von Tyrus, hatte Salomo mit Zedernholz und mit Zypressenholz und mit Gold nach all seinem Begehr unterstützt damals gab der König Salomo dem Hiram zwanzig Städte im Lande Galiläa.

12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the towns which Solomon had given him, he was not pleased with them.

Und Hiram zog von Tyrus aus, um die Städte zu besehen, die Salomo ihm gegeben hatte; und sie waren nicht recht in seinen Augen.

13 And he said, What sort of towns are these which you have given me, my brother? So they were named the land of Cabul, to this day.

Und er sprach: Was sind das für Städte, die du mir gegeben hast, mein Bruder! Und er nannte sie das Land Kabul bis auf diesen Tag.

14 And Hiram sent the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

Hiram hatte nämlich dem König hundertzwanzig Talente Gold gesandt.

15 Now, this was the way of Solomon's system of forced work for the building of the Lord's house and of the king's house, and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Megiddo and Gezer. ...

Und dies ist die Sache mit der Fron, welche der König Salomo aushob, um das Haus Jehovas zu bauen und sein Haus und das Millo und die Mauer von Jerusalem, und Hazor und Megiddo und Geser.

16 Pharaoh, king of Egypt, came and took Gezer, burning it down and putting to death the Canaanites living in the town, and he gave it for a bride-offering to his daughter, Solomon's wife. ...

(Der Pharao, der König von Ägypten, war heraufgezogen und hatte Geser eingenommen und es mit Feuer verbrannt und die Kanaaniter, die in der Stadt wohnten, erschlagen; und er hatte es seiner Tochter, dem Weibe Salomos, als Mitgift gegeben.)

17 ... and Solomon was the builder of Gezer and Beth-horon the lower,

Und Salomo baute Geser und Unter-Beth-Horon

18 And Baalath and Tamar in the waste land, in that land;

und Baalath, und Tadmor in der Wüste, im Lande;

19 And all the store-towns and the towns which Solomon had for his war-carriages and for his horsemen, and everything which it was his pleasure to put up in Jerusalem and in Lebanon and in all the land under his rule.

und alle Vorratsstädte, die Salomo hatte, und die Wagenstädte und die Reiterstädte; und was Salomo Lust hatte zu bauen in Jerusalem und auf dem Libanon und im ganzen Lande seiner Herrschaft.

20 As for the rest of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not children of Israel;

Alles Volk, das übriggeblieben war von den Amoritern, den Hethitern, den Perisitern, den Hewitern und den Jebusitern, die nicht von den Kindern Israel waren:

21 Their children who were still in the land, and whom the children of Israel had not been able to put to complete destruction, them did Solomon put to forced work, to this day.

ihre Söhne, die nach ihnen im Lande übriggeblieben waren, welche die Kinder Israel nicht zu verbannen vermocht hatten, die hob Salomo zu Fronarbeitern aus bis auf diesen Tag.

22 But Solomon did not put the children of Israel to forced work; they were the men of war, his servants, his captains, and his chiefs, captains of his war-carriages and of his horsemen.

Aber aus den Kindern Israel machte Salomo keine Sklaven, sondern sie waren Kriegsleute und seine Knechte und seine Obersten und seine Anführer, und Oberste seiner Wagen und seiner Reiter.

23 These were the chiefs of the overseers of Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, in authority over the people who did the work.

Dies sind die Oberaufseher, welche über das Werk Salomos waren: fünfhundertfünfzig, die über das Volk walteten, das an dem Werke arbeitete.

24 At that time Solomon made Pharaoh's daughter come up from the town of David to the house which he had made for her: then he made the Millo.

Sobald die Tochter des Pharao aus der Stadt Davids in ihr Haus hinaufgezogen war, das er ihr erbaut hatte, da baute er das Millo.

25 Three times in the year it was Solomon's way to give burned offerings and peace-offerings on the altar he had made to the Lord, causing his fire-offering to go up on the altar before the Lord.

Und Salomo opferte dreimal im Jahre Brandopfer und Friedensopfer auf dem Altar, den er Jehova erbaut hatte; und er räucherte auf dem, der vor Jehova stand. Und er vollendete das Haus.

26 And King Solomon made a sea-force of ships in Ezion-geber, by Eloth, on the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

Und der König Salomo machte eine Flotte zu Ezjon-Geber, das bei Eloth, am Ufer des Schilfmeeres, im Lande Edom liegt.

27 Hiram sent his servants, who were experienced seamen, in the sea-force with Solomon's men.

Und Hiram sandte auf der Flotte seine Knechte, Schiffsleute, die des Meeres kundig waren, mit den Knechten Salomos.

28 And they came to Ophir, where they got four hundred and twenty talents of gold, and took it back to King Solomon.

Und sie kamen nach Ophir und holten von dort Gold, vierhundertzwanzig Talente, und brachten es zu dem König Salomo.
