Luke 5
1 On one occasion, while Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret with the crowd pressing in on Him to hear the word of God,
૧હવે એમ થયું કે ઘણાં લોકો ઈસુ પર પડાપડી કરીને ઈશ્વરના વચનને સાંભળતાં હતા, ત્યારે ગન્નેસારેતના સરોવરને કિનારે તે ઊભા રહ્યા હતા.
2 He saw two boats at the edge of the lake. The fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.
૨તેમણે સરોવરને કિનારે ઊભેલી બે હોડી જોઈ, પણ માછીમારો તેઓ પરથી ઊતરીને જાળો ધોતા હતા.
3 Jesus got into the boat belonging to Simon and asked him to put out a little from shore. And sitting down, He taught the people from the boat.
૩તે હોડીઓમાંની એક સિમોનની હતી, ઈસુ તે હોડીમાં ગયા. અને તેને કિનારેથી થોડે દૂર હડસેલવાનું કહ્યું. પછી તેમણે હોડીમાં બેસીને લોકોને બોધ કર્યો.
4 When Jesus had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”
૪ઉપદેશ સમાપ્ત કર્યા પછી ઈસુએ સિમોનને કહ્યું કે, ‘હોડીને ઊંડા પાણીમાં જવા દો, અને માછલાં પકડવા સારુ તમારી જાળો નાખો.’”
5 “Master,” Simon replied, “we have worked hard all night without catching anything. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.”
૫સિમોને ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે, ‘ગુરુ, અમે આખી રાત મહેનત કરી, પણ કશું પકડાયું નહિ, તોપણ તમારા કહેવાથી હું જાળ નાખીશ.’”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear.
૬તેઓએ જાળ નાખી તો માછલાંનો મોટો જથ્થો પકડાયો અને તેઓની જાળ તૂટવા લાગી.
7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
૭તેઓના ભાગીદાર બીજી હોડીમાં હતા તેઓને તેઓએ ઇશારો કર્યો કે, તેઓ આવીને તેમને મદદ કરે; અને તેઓએ આવીને બન્ને હોડીઓ માછલાંથી એવી ભરી કે તેઓની હોડીઓ ડૂબવા લાગી.
8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees. “Go away from me, Lord,” he said, “for I am a sinful man.”
૮તે જોઈને સિમોન પિતરે ઈસુના પગ આગળ પડીને કહ્યું કે, ‘ઓ પ્રભુ, મારી પાસેથી જાઓ. કેમ કે હું પાપી માણસ છું.’”
9 For he and his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,
૯કેમ કે તે તથા તેના સઘળા સાથીઓ માછલાંનો જે જથ્થો પકડાયો હતો, તેથી આશ્ચર્ય પામ્યા હતા.
10 and so were his partners James and John, the sons of Zebedee. “Do not be afraid,” Jesus said to Simon. “From now on you will catch men.”
૧૦તેમાં ઝબદીના દીકરા યાકૂબ તથા યોહાન, જેઓ સિમોનના ભાગીદાર હતા, તેઓને પણ આશ્ચર્ય થયું. ઈસુએ સિમોનને કહ્યું કે, ‘બીશ નહિ કારણ કે, હવેથી તું માણસો પકડનાર થશે.’”
11 And when they had brought their boats ashore, they left everything and followed Him.
૧૧તેઓ હોડીઓને કિનારે લાવ્યા પછી બધું મૂકીને ઈસુની પાછળ ચાલ્યા.
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell facedown and begged Him, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
૧૨એમ થયું કે ઈસુ શહેરમાં હતા, ત્યારે જુઓ, એક કુષ્ઠ રોગી માણસ ત્યાં હતો; તે ઈસુને જોઈને તેમના પગે પડ્યો અને તેમને વિનંતી કરતાં બોલ્યો, ‘પ્રભુ, જો તમે ઇચ્છો તો મને શુદ્ધ કરી શકો છો.’”
13 Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
૧૩ઈસુએ હાથ લાંબો કર્યો, અને તેને સ્પર્શ કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘હું ચાહું છું, તું શુદ્ધ થા.’ અને તરત તેનો કુષ્ઠ રોગ મટી ગયો.
14 “Do not tell anyone,” Jesus instructed him. “But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
૧૪ઈસુએ તેને આજ્ઞા કરી કે, ‘તારે કોઈને કહેવું નહિ, પણ મૂસાએ ફરમાવ્યા પ્રમાણે સાક્ષી તરીકે જઈને પોતાને યાજકને બતાવ, ને તારા શુદ્ધિકરણને લીધે, તેઓને માટે અર્પણ ચઢાવ.’”
15 But the news about Jesus spread all the more, and great crowds came to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.
૧૫પણ ઈસુના સંબંધીની વાતો વધારે પ્રમાણમાં ફેલાઈ, અને અતિ ઘણાં લોકો તેનું સાંભળવા સારુ તથા પોતાના રોગમાંથી સાજાં થવા સારુ તેમની પાસે ભેગા થતાં હતા.
16 Yet He frequently withdrew to the wilderness to pray.
૧૬પણ ઈસુ પોતે એકાંતમાં અરણ્યમાં જઈ પ્રાર્થના કરતા.
17 One day Jesus was teaching, and the Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. People had come from Jerusalem and from every village of Galilee and Judea, and the power of the Lord was present for Him to heal the sick.
૧૭એક દિવસ ઈસુ બોધ કરતા હતા, ત્યારે ફરોશીઓ તથા શાસ્ત્રીઓ ગાલીલના ઘણાં ગામોમાંથી, યહૂદિયાથી તથા યરુશાલેમથી આવીને ત્યાં બેઠા હતા, અને બીમારને સાજાં કરવા સારુ ઈશ્વરનું પરાક્રમ ઈસુની પાસે હતું.
18 Just then some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They tried to bring him inside to set him before Jesus,
૧૮જુઓ, કેટલાક માણસો લકવાગ્રસ્તથી પીડાતી એક વ્યક્તિને ખાટલા પર લાવ્યા, તેને ઈસુની પાસે લઈ જઈને તેમની આગળ મૂકવાનો તેઓએ પ્રયત્ન કર્યો;
19 but they could not find a way through the crowd. So they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
૧૯પણ ભીડને લીધે તેને અંદર લઈ જવાની જગ્યા ન હોવાથી તેઓ છાપરા પર ચઢ્યાં. ત્યાંથી છાપરામાં થઈને તે રોગીને ખાટલા સાથે ઈસુની આગળ ઉતાર્યો.
20 When Jesus saw their faith, He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
૨૦ઈસુએ તેઓનો વિશ્વાસ જોઈને તેને કહ્યું કે, ‘હે માણસ, તારાં પાપ તને માફ થયાં છે.’”
21 But the scribes and Pharisees began thinking to themselves, “Who is this man who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
૨૧તે સાંભળીને શાસ્ત્રીઓ તથા ફરોશીઓ અંદરોઅંદર વિચાર કરીને કહેવા લાગ્યા કે, ‘આ દુર્ભાષણ કરનાર કોણ છે? એકલા ઈશ્વર સિવાય બીજું કોણ પાપની માફી આપી શકે છે?’”
22 Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus replied, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?
૨૨ઈસુએ તેઓના વિચાર જાણીને તેઓને જવાબ આપ્યો કે, ‘તમે પોતાના મનમાં શા પ્રશ્નો કરો છો?
23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk?’
૨૩વધારે સહેલું કયું છે, ‘તારાં પાપ તને માફ થયાં છે,’ એમ કહેવું કે, ‘ઊઠીને ચાલ્યો જા, એમ કહેવું?’”
24 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on the earth to forgive sins...” He said to the paralytic, “I tell you, get up, pick up your mat, and go home.”
૨૪પણ પૃથ્વી પર માણસના દીકરાને પાપ માફ કરવાનો અધિકાર છે, એ તમે જાણો માટે, તેમણે લકવાગ્રસ્ત માણસને કહ્યું કે હું તને કહું છું કે ‘ઊઠ તારો ખાટલો ઊંચકીને તારે ઘરે જા.’”
25 And immediately the man stood up before them, took what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.
૨૫તરત તે તેઓની આગળ ઊઠીને જે પર તે સૂતો હતો તે ખાટલાને ઊંચકીને ઈશ્વરનો મહિમા કરતો પોતાને ઘરે ગયો.
26 Everyone was taken with amazement and glorified God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
૨૬સઘળા આશ્ચર્ય પામ્યા, તેઓએ ઈશ્વરનો મહિમા કર્યો; અને તેઓએ ભયભીત થઈને કહ્યું કે, ‘આજે આપણે અજાયબ વાતો જોઈ છે.’”
27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. “Follow Me,” He told him,
૨૭ત્યાર પછી ઈસુ ત્યાંથી રવાના થયા, ત્યારે લેવી નામે એક દાણીને ચોકી પર બેઠેલો જોઈને ઈસુએ કહ્યું કે, ‘મારી પાછળ આવ.’”
28 and Levi got up, left everything, and followed Him.
૨૮અને તે સઘળું મૂકીને, તેમની પાછળ ગયો.
29 Then Levi hosted a great banquet for Jesus at his house. A large crowd of tax collectors was there, along with others who were eating with them.
૨૯લેવીએ પોતાને ઘરે ઈસુને માટે મોટો સત્કાર સમારંભ યોજ્યો. દાણીઓ તથા બીજાઓનું મોટું જૂથ તેમની સાથે જમવા બેઠું હતું.
30 But the Pharisees and their scribes complained to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
૩૦ફરોશીઓએ તથા તેઓના શાસ્ત્રીઓએ તેમના શિષ્યોની વિરુદ્ધ બડબડાટ કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘તમે દાણીઓ તથા પાપીઓની સાથે કેમ ખાઓ પીઓ છો?’”
31 Jesus answered, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
૩૧ઈસુએ તેઓને ઉત્તર આપતાં કહ્યું કે, ‘જેઓ તંદુરસ્ત છે તેઓને વૈદની અગત્ય નથી, પણ જેઓ બિમાર છે તેઓને છે;
32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
૩૨ન્યાયીઓને નહિ, પણ પાપીઓને પસ્તાવાને સારુ બોલાવવા હું આવ્યો છું.’”
33 Then they said to Him, “John’s disciples and those of the Pharisees frequently fast and pray, but Yours keep on eating and drinking.”
૩૩તેઓએ તેને કહ્યું કે, ‘યોહાનના શિષ્યો અને ફરોશીઓના શિષ્યો ઉપવાસ તથા પ્રાર્થના કરે છે, પણ તમારા શિષ્યો ખાય અને પીવે છે.’”
34 Jesus replied, “Can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while He is with them?
૩૪ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ‘વરરાજા જાનૈયાઓની સાથે છે, ત્યાં સુધી તેઓની પાસે તમે ઉપવાસ કરાવી શકો છો શું?
35 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.”
૩૫પણ એવા દિવસો આવશે કે વરરાજાને તેઓની પાસેથી લઈ લેવામાં આવશે ત્યારે તે દિવસોમાં તેઓ ઉપવાસ કરશે.’”
36 He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will tear the new garment as well, and the patch from the new will not match the old.
૩૬ઈસુએ તેઓને એક દ્રષ્ટાંત પણ કહ્યું કે,’ નવા વસ્ત્રમાંથી કટકો ફાડીને કોઈ માણસ જૂના વસ્ત્રને થીંગડું મારતું નથી; જો લગાવે તો તે નવાને ફાડશે, વળી નવામાંથી લીધેલું થીંગડું જૂનાને મળતું નહિ આવે.
37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined.
૩૭તે જ રીતે નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ જૂની મશકોમાં કોઈ ભરતું નથી, જો ભરે તો નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ મશકોને ફાડી નાખશે, અને પોતે ઢળી જશે અને મશકોનો નાશ થશે.
38 Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins.
૩૮પણ નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ નવી મશકોમાં ભરવો જોઈએ.
39 And no one after drinking old wine wants new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’”
૩૯વળી જૂનો દ્રાક્ષારસ પીધા પછી કોઈ નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ માગતો નથી, કેમ કે તે કહે છે કે. જૂનો સારો છે.’”
