< Acts 4 >

1 While they were speaking to the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,
Akhasekhe akha Petro nu yohana puvalekhunchova na vanu, avalongonchi na valendeleli awatembile na masadukayo vakhavalutile.
2 being vexed because they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
Pakhuva vakhakarile sincho uhwakhuva u petro nu yohana valekhumanyisya avanu ukhumanya uyiesu nu khwenesya ukhunchukha khwamwene uhkukhuma khuvafwile.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in prison till the next day, for it was already evening.
Vakhavibata nukhuvavikha murigelresa impakha esikhu eyeyekongire, uhwakhuva yikhalelwa khenikhe.
4 But many of those who heard the word, believed: and the number of the men was about five thousand.
Pakhuva avanu vingi avakhapolakhe uvufumbwe vakhedikhe, pakhuva enafasi eyavagosi avakhedikhe vale elfu tano.
5 And it came to pass, on the next day, that their rulers and elders and scribes,
Puyekhafikhe vukhelo esikhu eyikhonga, ukhuta avavakha vavene, avagogoro na vavisimba, pupaninie vakhelundamana khu Yerusalemu.
6 and Annas the chief priest, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the chief priest, met together in Jerusalem.
U Anasi ondongonchi umbakhaalepo, mukayafa, nu Yohana, Isakanda, na voni avavale bokoro nu ndongonchi umbakha.
7 And when they had made them stand in the midst, they asked: By what power, or by what name have you done this?
Puvakhavavekhile o Petro nu Yohana pagati pavene, vakhavavonchinche, “Khuvuwesyo vulekhu, au khulitawa lelekhu muvombile aga?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
Ohwakhuva, o petro, andehwiwe omepo umbarache, akhavavula, “Umwe mwevavakha va vanu, na vagogoro.
9 if we are this day examined with respect unto the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he has been saved,
Inave ufwe esikhu eye tovu nehiwa pakhuva embomboenonu yevombiwe khumunu utamuoyo khuchila yelekhu umunu oyo - khuchila yelekhuumunu oyo avombiwe ukhuva inkhafu?
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him does this man stand before you in health.
Navonelemanyekhe elwa khuvanu voni avakhu Israel, ukhutakhulitawa elya yiesu kristi uvakhunazareti, uvengave mukhatesinchi uvunane unguruve anchusinch ukhukhuma khuvafwe, pakhuva khulugendo ulwamwene ukhuta umunu oyo ayikhwema pavolongolo pabyumwe iva nu wumii.

O yiesu kristi liwe elevabedile ava vinchenga, uhwakhuva levombiwe ukhuva liwe livakha lwa parukanchi.
12 And there is salvation in no other; nor, indeed, is there another name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved.
Vusipali uvolokhole khu munu uyunge yeyonii, olwakhuva lesipali elitawa elenge pasi pakherunga eletupeviwe twe vanu, elyunave khu elyo tuwesya ukhwedikhiwa”.
13 Now, when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and plain men, they were astonished; and they also recognized them, that they had been with Jesus;
pakhuva vavile valolile ovojasi owa petro nu Yohana, puvakhe riwe ukhuta vanu va khawaida avasavimbii, vakhaswigile, vakhavu manya ukhuta o Petro nu Yohana vale pupaninie nu Yiesu.
14 and, seeing the man who had been cured standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.
Pakhuva vakhabwene umunu uya khaponile emile paninie navene, vale vovole ekhenii ekhyakhune hoova khu ele.
15 But, having commanded them to go aside out of the Sanhedrim, they consulted with one another,
Pakhuva vavile vamwile ukhuta avasuhiwa vakhege pavorongoro palulundamano ulwanongwa, vanchoovile venekhuvene.
16 saying: What shall we do with these men? For that an evident sign has been done by them, is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem, and we can not deny it.
Vachoovile, tikhuvagakhandakhekhi avanu ava? vuyweli ukhuta amazingara gavombikhe uhkugendele khuveneguma nyikhe khela munu uyitama khuyerusalemu; satuwesya okhurebera ele.
17 But that it may spread no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, so that they speak no more to any man in this name.
Pakhuva, elevombiwe ele lesite ukhugenda muvanu, zekha tuvalole valekhe okhonchoova tena khumunu vevoni ukhugendela elitawa ele.
18 And they called them in, and commanded them to speak no more at all, nor to teach, in the name of Jesus.
Vakhavelangile o Petro nu Yohana igati nukhuvavola ukhuta valekhe okhunchoova nukhumanyisya khu litawa lwa Yiesu.
19 But Peter and John answering them, said: Whether it is right in the sight of God to obey you rather than God, judge you.
Pakhuva o petro nu Yohana vakhavavulile ukhuta, “Inave hoeli pa mikho aga nguruve ukhuvedekha umwekhuriko Nguruve, kheganiaga yumwe.
20 For we can not but speak the things that we have seen and heard.
Pakhuva ufwe satuwesya ukhube khera ukhunchoova imbombo inchu tumchimwene nukhupulekhba “.
21 And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing for which they could punish them, because of the people; for they all glorified God on account of that which had been done;
Usekhe ugwakhuvavunga sineho o petro nu Yohana, vakhavalekha valutange, savakhawesye ukhupata eyira uwwakhuvatovela, ulwakhuva avawu vowi vavokhupatagiwie u Nguruve khu khela ekhikhavo rubikhe.

23 And having been released, they went to their own, and told all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

24 And when they heard it, they lifted up their voice with one consent to God, and said: Lord, thou art God, who didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all things that are in them; who, by the mouth of David thy servant, didst say,
Vuvapulikhe, vakhatoncha nguruve nukhunchova, “vimbkha, vemwene vewavombile khukyanya ne kherunga ne nyanja ni vinufyoni ifiregati.
25 Why did the heathen rage, and the people devise vain things?

26 The kings of the land stood up, and the rulers met together against the Lord and against his anointed.
Avatwa avakherunga vemilepo paninie, navavakha valundaminie pupaninie umbakha wayu kristi va mwene”.
27 For, in truth, against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, did meet together,

31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke the word of God with boldness.
Vuvamalile ukhwesaya, esekhemu eyiv khalundeminie pupaninie yikhasukhanikha, khukhuta vanchoovile elimenyu elwa Nguruve nu vujasi.
32 And the multitude of believers were of one heart and of one soul; and no one said that any part of his possessions was his own; but they had all things in common.
