Revelation 12
1 And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;
૧પછી આકાશમાં મોટું ચિહ્ન દેખાયું, એટલે સૂર્યથી વેષ્ટિત એક સ્ત્રી જોવામાં આવી. તેના પગ નીચે ચંદ્ર અને માથા પર બાર તારાનો મુગટ હતો.
2 and she was with child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered.
૨તે ગર્ભવતી હતી. તેણે પ્રસવપીડા સાથે બૂમ પાડી હતી. તે જન્મ આપવાની તૈયારીમાં હતી.
3 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems.
૩આકાશમાં બીજું ચિહ્ન પણ દેખાયું; જુઓ, મોટો લાલ અજગર હતો, જેને સાત માથાં ને દસ શિંગડાં હતાં; અને તેના દરેક માથા પર સાત મુગટ હતા;
4 And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child.
૪તેના પૂછડાએ આકાશના તારાઓનો ત્રીજો ભાગ ખેંચીને તેઓને પૃથ્વી પર ફેંકી દીધા. જે સ્ત્રીને પ્રસવ થવાનો હતો, તેની આગળ તે અજગર ઊભો રહ્યો હતો, એ માટે કે જયારે તે જન્મ આપે ત્યારે તેના બાળકને તે ખાઈ જાય.
5 And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne.
૫‘તે સ્ત્રીએ પુત્રને જન્મ આપ્યો’ જે નરબાળક હતો, તે સઘળા દેશના લોકો પર લોખંડના દંડથી રાજ કરશે. એ બાળકને ઈશ્વર પાસે તથા તેના રાજ્યાસન પાસે લઈ જવામાં આવ્યો.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
૬સ્ત્રી અરણ્યમાં નાસી ગઈ. ત્યાં ઈશ્વરે તેને માટે બારસો સાંઠ દિવસ સુધી તેનું પોષણ થાય એવું સ્થળ તૈયાર કરી રાખ્યું હતું.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels [going forth] to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels;
૭પછી આકાશમાં યુદ્ધ મચ્યું. મીખાયેલ તથા તેના સ્વર્ગદૂતો અજગરની સાથે લડ્યા; અને અજગર તથા તેના દૂતો પણ લડ્યા;
8 and they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.
૮તોપણ તે અજગર તેટલો બળવાન ન હતો. તે જીતી શક્યો નહિ અને તેને ફરી સ્વર્ગમાં સ્થાન મળ્યું નહિ.
9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
૯તે મોટો અજગર બહાર ફેંકી દેવાયો. એટલે તે જૂનો સાપ જે દુશ્મન તથા શેતાન કહેવાય છે, જે આખા માનવજગતને ભમાવે છે, તેને પૃથ્વી પર ફેંકી દેવાયો. અને તેની સાથે તેના દૂતોને પણ નાખી દેવાયા.
10 And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accuseth them before our God day and night.
૧૦ત્યારે સ્વર્ગમાંથી મોટી વાણી મેં એમ કહેતી સાંભળી કે, ‘હમણાં ઉદ્ધાર, પરાક્રમ તથા અમારા ઈશ્વરનું રાજ્ય તથા તેમના ખ્રિસ્તનો અધિકાર આવ્યાં છે; કેમ કે અમારા ભાઈઓ પર દોષ મૂકનાર, જે અમારા ઈશ્વરની આગળ રાતદિવસ તેમની વિરુદ્ધ આક્ષેપો મૂકે છે તેને નીચે ફેંકવામાં આવ્યો છે.
11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death.
૧૧તેઓએ હલવાનના રક્તથી તથા પોતાની સાક્ષીના વચનથી તેને જીત્યો છે અને છેક મરતાં સુધી તેઓએ પોતાનો જીવ વહાલો ગણ્યો નહિ.
12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe for the earth and for the sea: because the devil is gone down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.
૧૨એ માટે, ઓ સ્વર્ગો તથા તેઓમાં રહેનારાંઓ, તમે આનંદ કરો! ઓ પૃથ્વી તથા સમુદ્ર તમને અફસોસ છે; કેમ કે શેતાન તમારી પાસે ઊતર્યો છે અને તે બહુ ક્રોધિત થયો છે, તે જાણે છે કે હવે તેની પાસે થોડો જ સમય બાકી છે.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man [child].
૧૩જયારે અજગરે જોયું કે પોતે પૃથ્વી પર ફેંકાયો છે ત્યારે જે સ્ત્રીએ નરબાળકને જન્મ આપ્યો હતો, તેને તેણે સતાવી.
14 And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
૧૪સ્ત્રીને મોટા ગરુડની બે પાંખો આપવામાં આવી, કે જેથી તે અજગરની આગળથી અરણ્યમાં પોતાના નિયત સ્થળે ઊડી જાય, ત્યાં સમય તથા સમયો તથા અડધા સમય સુધી તેનું પોષણ કરવામાં આવે.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.
૧૫અજગરે પોતાના મોમાંથી નદીના જેવો પાણીનો પ્રવાહ તે સ્ત્રીની પાછળ વહેતો મૂક્યો કે તેના પૂરથી તે તણાઈ જાય.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
૧૬પણ પૃથ્વીએ તે સ્ત્રીને સહાય કરી. એટલે પૃથ્વી પોતાનું મોં ઉઘાડીને જે પાણીનો પ્રવાહ અજગરે પોતાના મોમાંથી વહેતો મૂક્યો હતો તેને પી ગઈ.
17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:
૧૭ત્યારે અજગર તે સ્ત્રી પર ગુસ્સે થયો. અને તેનાં બાકીનાં સંતાન એટલે જેઓ ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞા પાળે છે અને જેઓ ઈસુની સાક્ષીને વળગી રહે છે તેઓની સાથે લડવાને તે નીકળ્યો;
