Psalms 85
1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Jehovah, thou hast been favorable unto thy land; Thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
Au maître de chant. Psaume des fils de Coré. Tu as été favorable à ton pays, Yahweh, tu as ramené les captifs de Jacob;
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; Thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)
tu as pardonné l'iniquité à ton peuple, tu as couvert tous ses péchés; — Séla.
3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath; Thou hast turned [thyself] from the fierceness of thine anger.
tu as retiré toute ton indignation, tu es revenu de l'ardeur de ta colère.
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
Rétablis-nous, Dieu de notre salut; mets fin à ton sentiment contre nous.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
Seras-tu toujours irrité contre nous, prolongeras-tu ton courroux éternellement?
6 Wilt thou not quicken us again, That thy people may rejoice in thee?
Ne nous feras-tu pas revenir à la vie, afin que ton peuple se réjouisse en toi?
7 Show us thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, And grant us thy salvation.
Yahweh, fais-nous voir ta bonté, et accorde-nous ton salut.
8 I will hear what God Jehovah will speak; For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: But let them not turn again to folly.
Je veux écouter ce que dira le Dieu Yahweh: — Il a des paroles de paix pour son peuple et pour ses fidèles; pourvu qu'ils ne retournent pas à leur folie. —
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, That glory may dwell in our land.
Oui, son salut est proche de ceux qui le craignent, et la gloire habitera de nouveau dans notre pays.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
La bonté et la vérité vont se rencontrer, la justice et la paix s'embrasseront.
11 Truth springeth out of the earth; And righteousness hath looked down from heaven.
La vérité germera de la terre, et la justice regardera du haut du ciel.
12 Yea, Jehovah will give that which is good; And our land shall yield its increase.
Yahweh lui-même accordera tout bien, et notre terre donnera son fruit.
13 Righteousness shall go before him, And shall make his footsteps a way [to walk in].
La justice marchera devant lui, et tracera le chemin à ses pas.
