< Psalms 42 >

1 For the Chief Musician. Maschil of the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God.
in finem in intellectum filiis Core quemadmodum desiderat cervus ad fontes aquarum ita desiderat anima mea ad te Deus
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God?
sitivit anima mea ad Deum fortem vivum quando veniam et parebo ante faciem Dei
3 My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
fuerunt mihi lacrimae meae panis die ac nocte dum dicitur mihi cotidie ubi est Deus tuus
4 These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, How I went with the throng, and led them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday.
haec recordatus sum et effudi in me animam meam quoniam transibo in loco tabernaculi admirabilis usque ad domum Dei in voce exultationis et confessionis sonus epulantis
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And [why] art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him [For] the help of his countenance.
quare tristis es anima mea et quare conturbas me spera in Deo quoniam confitebor illi salutare vultus mei
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: Therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, And the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.
Deus meus ad me ipsum anima mea conturbata est propterea memor ero tui de terra Iordanis et Hermoniim a monte modico
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
abyssus ad; abyssum invocat in voce cataractarum tuarum omnia excelsa tua et fluctus tui super me transierunt
8 [Yet] Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time; And in the night his song shall be with me, [Even] a prayer unto the God of my life.
in die mandavit Dominus misericordiam suam et nocte canticum eius apud me oratio Deo vitae meae
9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
dicam Deo susceptor meus es quare oblitus es mei quare contristatus incedo dum adfligit me inimicus
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine adversaries reproach me, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
dum confringuntur ossa mea exprobraverunt mihi qui tribulant me dum dicunt mihi per singulos dies ubi est Deus tuus
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him, [Who is] the help of my countenance, and my God.
quare tristis es anima mea et quare conturbas me spera in Deum quoniam adhuc; confitebor illi salutare vultus mei et; Deus meus
