< Psalms 108 >

1 A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is fixed, O God; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.
My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· and I will give kavod ·weighty glory·.
2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early.
Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn.
3 I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the peoples; And I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, Adonai, among the nations. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to you among the peoples.
4 For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens; And thy truth [reacheth] unto the skies.
For your cheshed ·loving-kindness· is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, And thy glory above all the earth.
Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your kavod ·weighty glory· be over all the earth.
6 That thy beloved may be delivered, Save with thy right hand, and answer us.
That your yadid ·beloved· may be delivered, save with your right hand, and answer us.
7 God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult; I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Sukkot.
8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre.
Gilead is mine. Manasseh [Causing to forget] is mine. Ephraim [Fruit] also is my helmet. Judah [Praised] is my scepter.
9 Moab is my washpot; Upon Edom will I cast my shoe; Over Philistia will I shout.
Moab [From father] is my wash pot. I will toss my sandal on Edom [Red]. I will shout over Philistia.”
10 Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who hath led me unto Edom?
Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who has led me to Edom [Red]?
11 Hast not thou cast us off, O God? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.
Haven’t you rejected us, God? You don’t go out, God, with our armies.
12 Give us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man.
Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain.
13 Through God we shall do valiantly: For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
Through God, we will do valiantly. For it is he who will tread down our enemies.
