Matthew 26
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, he said unto his disciples,
೧ಯೇಸು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬ ಬರುತ್ತದೆಂದು ನೀವು ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ;
2 Ye know that after two days the passover cometh, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
೨ಆಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡಲಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3 Then were gathered together the chief priests, and the elders of the people, unto the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas;
೩ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಜನರ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಕಾಯಫನೆಂಬ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನ ಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು
4 and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.
೪ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
5 But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumult arise among the people.
೫“ಆದರೂ ಹಬ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿಯಬಾರದು, ನಮ್ಮ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಗದ್ದಲವಾದೀತು” ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
೬ಯೇಸು ಬೇಥಾನ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀಮೋನನೆಂಬ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿಯ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು
7 there came unto him a woman having an alabaster cruse of exceeding precious ointment, and she poured it upon his head, as he sat at meat.
೭ಬಹು ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಸುಗಂಧತೈಲದ ಭರಣಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಆತನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿದಳು.
8 But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
೮ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು, “ಹೀಗೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಖರ್ಚುಮಾಡುವುದೇಕೆ?
9 For this [ointment] might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
೯ಈ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಹಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಿ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬಹುದಾಗಿತ್ತಲ್ಲಾ” ಅಂದರು.
10 But Jesus perceiving it said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
೧೦ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ ಏಕೆ ತೊಂದರೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ಈಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
೧೧ಬಡವರು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲಾ, ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
12 For in that she poured this ointment upon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
೧೨ಈಕೆಯು ಈ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ದೇಹದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿದದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಾಗಿಯೇ.
13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
೧೩ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಈ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಸರ್ವಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಲಾಗುವುದೋ ಅಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಸಹ ಈಕೆಯ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ” ಹೇಳುವರು.
14 Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
೧೪ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಇಸ್ಕರಿಯೋತ ಯೂದನೆಂಬುವವನು ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ,
15 and said, What are ye willing to give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they weighed unto him thirty pieces of silver.
೧೫“ನಾನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೂಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
16 And from that time he sought opportunity to deliver him [unto them].
೧೬ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
17 Now on the first [day] of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou that we make ready for thee to eat the passover?
೧೭ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಪಸ್ಕದ ಊಟಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಬೇಕನ್ನುತ್ತೀ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Teacher saith, My time is at hand; I keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
೧೮ಆತನು, “ನೀವು ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಕಾಲ ಸಮೀಪವಾಯಿತು, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಗುರುವು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ” ಅಂದನು.
19 And the disciples did as Jesus appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
೧೯ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯೇಸು ತಮಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ ಪಸ್ಕದ ಭೋಜನವನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸಿದರು.
20 Now when even was come, he was sitting at meat with the twelve disciples;
೨೦ಸಂಜೆಯಾದಾಗ ಆತನು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
21 and as they were eating, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
೨೧ಅವರು ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನು, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವನು” ಅಂದನು.
22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began to say unto him every one, Is it I, Lord?
೨೨ಆಗ ಅವರು ಬಹಳ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ?” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಕೇಳತೊಡಗಿದರು.
23 And he answered and said, He that dipped his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
೨೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಯೇಸು, “ಬಟ್ಟಲಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕೈ ಅದ್ದಿದವನೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವವನು.
24 The Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born.
೨೪ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಆತನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಯಾವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವನೋ ಅವನ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಏನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಿ. ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹುಟ್ಟದಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು” ಅಂದನು.
25 And Judas, who betrayed him, answered and said, Is it I, Rabbi? He saith unto him, Thou hast said.
೨೫ಆಗ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದ ಯೂದನು, “ಗುರುವೇ, ನಾನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೇ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it; and he gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
೨೬ಅವರು ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಯೇಸು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, “ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ತಿನ್ನಿರಿ, ಇದು ನನ್ನ ದೇಹ” ಅಂದನು.
27 And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
೨೭ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, “ಇದರಲ್ಲಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕುಡಿಯಿರಿ; ಇದು ನನ್ನ ರಕ್ತ,
28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many unto remission of sins.
೨೮ಇದು ಬಹು ಜನರ ಪಾಪಗಳ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಸುರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಹೊಸ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ರಕ್ತ.
29 But I say unto you, I shall not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
೨೯ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೂ ಇನ್ನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
೩೦ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರು ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ಮರಗಳ ಗುಡ್ಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended in me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
೩೧ಆಗ ಯೇಸು, ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಕುರುಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವೆನು; ಹಿಂಡಿನ ಕುರಿಗಳು ಚದರಿಹೋಗುವವು ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿ ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುವಿರಿ.”
32 But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.
೩೨“ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆನಿಮಗಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
33 But Peter answered and said unto him, If all shall be offended in thee, I will never be offended.
೩೩ಆದರೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿಗಿಲುಪಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂಜರಿದರೂ ನಾನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
೩೪ಯೇಸು ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಇದೇ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಳಿ ಕೂಗುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುವಿ” ಅಂದನು.
35 Peter saith unto him, Even if I must die with thee, [yet] will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
೩೫ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಾಯಬೇಕಾಗಿಬಂದರೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅದರಂತೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.
೩೬ಅನಂತರ ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಗೆತ್ಸೇಮನೆ ಎಂಬ ತೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಅತ್ತ ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ,
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and sore troubled.
೩೭ಪೇತ್ರನನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಜೆಬೆದಾಯನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು ಮನಗುಂದಿದವನಾದನು.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: abide ye here, and watch with me.
೩೮ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಸಾಯುವಷ್ಟು ದುಃಖಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದೆ; ನೀವು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
39 And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
೩೯ಆತನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದು, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದರೆ ಈಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಲಿ; ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ತದಂತಾಗದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ತದಂತೆಯೇ ಆಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
೪೦ಅನಂತರ ಆತನು ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲು ಅವರು ನಿದ್ದೆಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೆ, “ಒಂದು ಗಳಿಗೆಯಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರಲಾರಿರಾ?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
೪೧ಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿರಿ; ಆತ್ಮವು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಆದರೆ ದೇಹವು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
42 Again a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this cannot pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done.
೪೨ತಿರುಗಿ ಎರಡನೇ ಸಾರಿ ಹೋಗಿ, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನಾನು ಕುಡಿಯದ ಹೊರತು ಈ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಲಾರದು ಎಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಚಿತ್ತದಂತೆಯೇ ಆಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
43 And he came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
೪೩ಆತನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗಲೂ ಅವರು ನಿದ್ದೆಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು; ಅವರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಭಾರವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
44 And he left them again, and went away, and prayed a third time, saying again the same words.
೪೪ಅನಂತರ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಅದೇ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
45 Then cometh he to the disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
೪೫ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಇನ್ನು ನಿದ್ದೆ ಮಾಡಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರೋ; ಇಗೋ, ಅ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿತು, ಈಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಪಾಪಿಷ್ಠರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
46 Arise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that betrayeth me.
೪೬ಏಳಿರಿ, ಹೋಗೋಣ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವವನು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ನೋಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
೪೭ಯೇಸು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ, ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಯೂದನು ಬಂದನು. ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರ ಹಾಗು ಜನರ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಬಹು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪು ಕತ್ತಿ, ದೊಣ್ಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದರು.
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he: take him.
೪೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಡುತ್ತೇನೋ ಅವನೇ ಆತನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಮುನ್ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದನು.
49 And straightway he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, Rabbi; and kissed him.
೪೯ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಗುರುವೇ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, [do] that for which thou art come. Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
೫೦ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಗೆಳೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುವೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅವರು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಹಾಕಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದರು.
51 And behold, one of them that were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear.
೫೧ಇಗೋ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿದು ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನ ಆಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಅವನ ಕಿವಿಯನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಹಾಕಿದನು.
52 Then saith Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
೫೨ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಒರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸು; ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುವರು,
53 Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
೫೩ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರೆನೆ, ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ಈಗಲೇ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಗಣಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ದೇವದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೀಯೋ?
54 How then should the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
೫೪ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೀಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವುದಾದರೂ ಹೇಗೆ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
55 In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and staves to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and ye took me not.
೫೫ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಕಳ್ಳನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಂತೆ ಕತ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ದೊಣ್ಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರಾ? ನಾನು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ;
56 But all this is come to pass, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him, and fled.
೫೬ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಬರೆದ ವಚನಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಯಿತು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.
57 And they that had taken Jesus led him away to [the house of] Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
೫೭ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಕಾಯಫನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.
58 But Peter followed him afar off, unto the court of the high priest, and entered in, and sat with the officers, to see the end.
೫೮ಆದರೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನ ಭವನದ ಅಂಗಳದ ಒಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಬಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಏನಾಗುವುದೋ ಎಂದು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸೈನಿಕರ ಸಂಗಡ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
59 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death;
೫೯ಆಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರೂ ಹಿರೀಸಭೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದರು; ಆದರೆ ಬಹು ಮಂದಿ ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದರೂ ಏನೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.
60 and they found it not, though many false witnesses came. But afterward came two,
೬೦ಅನಂತರ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು,
61 and said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
೬೧“ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಬಲ್ಲೆನೆಂದು ‘ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು’” ಅಂದರು;
62 And the high priest stood up, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
೬೨ಆಗ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತು, “ನೀನೇನೂ ಉತ್ತರಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಆರೋಪಗಳು ನಿಜವೇನು?” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದನು.
63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.
೬೩ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನೀನು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನಾದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾದರೆ ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು” ಅಂದನು.
64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
೬೪ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನೀನೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ, ಆಕಾಶದ ಮೇಘಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಬರುವುದನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣುವಿರಿ” ಅಂದನು.
65 Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy:
೬೫ಆಗ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು, “ಇವನು ದೇವದೂಷಣೆಯ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಮಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಇನ್ನು ಯಾತಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕು? ನೋಡಿ ಇವನು ಈಗಲೇ ಆಡಿದ ದೂಷಣೆಯ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಿರಲ್ಲಾ;
66 what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.
೬೬ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತೋರುತ್ತದೆ?” ಅನ್ನಲು, “ಇವನು ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನು” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
67 Then did they spit in his face and buffet him: and some smote him with the palms of their hands,
೬೭ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆತನ ಮುಖದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗುಳಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಗುದ್ದಿದರು; ಕೆಲವರು ಆತನ ಕೆನ್ನೆಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದು,
68 saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ: who is he that struck thee?
೬೮“ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದವರಾರು? ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆ ಹೇಳು” ಅಂದರು.
69 Now Peter was sitting without in the court: and a maid came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilæan.
೬೯ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ದಾಸಿಯು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ನೀನೂ ಸಹ ಗಲಿಲಾಯದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಕೂಡ ಇದ್ದವನು” ಅಲ್ಲವೇ ಎನ್ನಲು.
70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
೭೦ಅವನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ, “ನೀನು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವೆ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another [maid] saw him, and saith unto them that were there, This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.
೭೧ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ದಾಸಿಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ, “ಇವನೂ ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
72 And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.
೭೨ಅವನು ತಿರುಗಿ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು, “ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ನಾನರಿಯೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
73 And after a little while they that stood by came and said to Peter, Of a truth thou also art [one] of them; for thy speech maketh thee known.
೭೩ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ನಂತರ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದವರು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೆ, “ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನೀನೂ ಸಹ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು, ನಿನ್ನ ಭಾಷೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು (ಗಲಿಲಾಯದವನೆಂದು) ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು
74 Then began he to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And straightway the cock crew.
೭೪ಅವನು, “ಶಾಪಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು, ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ನಾನರಿಯೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಕೂಡಲೇ ಹುಂಜವೂ ಕೂಗಿತು.
75 And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
೭೫ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೆ ಯೇಸು, “ಹುಂಜವೂ ಕೂಗುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುವಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಹು ವ್ಯಥೆಪಟ್ಟು ಅತ್ತನು.
