Luke 7
1 After he had ended all his sayings in the ears of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
Y como acabó todas sus palabras en oídos del pueblo, entró en Capernaum.
2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick and at the point of death.
Y el siervo de un centurión estaba enfermo y se iba muriendo, al cual él tenía en estima.
3 And when he heard concerning Jesus, he sent unto him elders of the Jews, asking him that he would come and save his servant.
Y como oyó de Jesús, envió a él los ancianos de los Judíos, rogándole que viniese y librase a su siervo.
4 And they, when they came to Jesus, besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou shouldest do this for him;
Y viniendo ellos a Jesús, rogáronle con diligencia, diciéndole: Porque es digno de concederle esto:
5 for he loveth our nation, and himself built us our synagogue.
Que ama nuestra nación, y él nos edificó una sinagoga.
6 And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:
Y Jesús fue con ellos: mas como ya no estuviesen lejos de su casa, envió el centurión amigos a él, diciéndole: Señor, no tomes trabajo, que no soy digno de que entres debajo de mi tejado:
7 wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
Por lo cual ni aun me tuve por digno de venir a ti; mas di tan solo una palabra, y mi criado será sano.
8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Porque también yo soy hombre puesto en autoridad, que tengo debajo de mí soldados; y digo a éste: Vé, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y a mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.
9 And when Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned and said unto the multitude that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Lo cual oyendo Jesús, se maravilló de él, y vuelto, dijo a las multitudes que le seguían: Os digo, que ni aun en Israel, he hallado tanta fe.
10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole.
Y vueltos a casa los que habían sido enviados, hallaron sano al siervo que había estado enfermo.
11 And it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain; and his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.
Y aconteció después, que él iba a la ciudad que se llama Naín, e iban con él muchos de sus discípulos, y gran compañía.
12 Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, there was carried out one that was dead, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
Y como llegó cerca de la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí, que sacaban un difunto, unigénito de su madre, la cual también era viuda; y había con ella mucha gente de la ciudad.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Y como el Señor la vio, fue movido a misericordia de ella, y le dice: No llores.
14 And he came nigh and touched the bier: and the bearers stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Y acercándose, tocó las andas; y los que le llevaban, pararon. Y dijo: Mancebo, a ti digo, levántate.
15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
Entonces, volvióse a sentar el que había sido muerto, y comenzó a hablar; y le dio a su madre.
16 And fear took hold on all: and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet is arisen among us: and, God hath visited his people.
Y tomó a todos temor, y glorificaban a Dios, diciendo: Que profeta grande se ha levantado entre nosotros; y, que Dios ha visitado a su pueblo.
17 And this report went forth concerning him in the whole of Judæa, and all the region round about.
Y salió esta fama de él por toda Judea, y por toda la tierra del al derredor.
18 And the disciples of John told him of all these things.
Y dieron las nuevas a Juan de todas estas cosas sus discípulos.
19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?
Y llamó Juan unos dos de sus discípulos, y les envió a Jesús, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquel que había de venir, o esperaremos a otro?
20 And when the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?
Y como los varones vinieron a él, dijeron: Juan el Bautista nos ha enviado a ti, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquel que había de venir, o esperaremos a otro?
21 In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and on many that were blind he bestowed sight.
Y en la misma hora sanó a muchos de enfermedades, y de plagas, y de espíritus malos; y a muchos ciegos dio la vista.
22 And he answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which ye have seen and heard; the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good tidings preached to them.
Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, dad las nuevas a Juan de lo que habéis visto y oído: Que los ciegos ven, los cojos andan, los leprosos son limpiados, los sordos oyen, los muertos resucitan, a los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.
23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.
24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken with the wind?
Y como se fueron los mensajeros de Juan, comenzó a hablar de Juan a las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis a ver en el desierto? ¿una caña que es agitada del viento?
25 But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
Mas, ¿qué salisteis a ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de vestidos delicados? He aquí, que los que están en vestido precioso, y en delicias, en los palacios de los reyes están.
26 But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
Mas, ¿qué salisteis a ver? ¿un profeta? De cierto os digo, y aun más que profeta.
27 This is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way before thee.
Este es de quien está escrito: He aquí, envío mi ángel delante de tu faz, el cual aparejará tu camino delante de ti.
28 I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there is none greater than John: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Porque yo os digo que entre los nacidos de mujeres, no hay mayor profeta que Juan el Bautista; empero el más pequeño en el reino de los cielos es mayor que él.
29 And all the people when they heard, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
Y todo el pueblo oyéndo le, y los publicanos, justificaron a Dios, siendo bautizados con el bautismo de Juan.
30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected for themselves the counsel of God, being not baptized of him.
Mas los Fariseos, y los sabios de la ley, desecharon el consejo de Dios contra sí mismos, no siendo bautizados por él.
31 Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation, and to what are they like?
Y dijo el Señor: ¿A quién pues compararé los hombres de esta generación, y a qué son semejantes?
32 They are like unto children that sit in the marketplace, and call one to another; who say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not weep.
Semejantes son a los muchachos sentados en la plaza, y que dan voces los unos a los otros, y dicen: Os tañimos con flautas, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no llorasteis.
33 For John the Baptist is come eating no bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
Porque vino Juan el Bautista que ni comía pan, ni bebía vino, y decís: Demonio tiene.
34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y decís: He aquí, un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores.
35 And wisdom is justified of all her children.
Mas la sabiduría es justificada de todos sus hijos.
36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he entered into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
Y le rogó uno de los Fariseos, que comiese con él. Y entrado en casa del Fariseo, se sentó a la mesa.
37 And behold, a woman who was in the city, a sinner; and when she knew that he was sitting at meat in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster cruse of ointment,
Y, he aquí, una mujer en la ciudad, que era pecadora, como entendió que estaba a la mesa en casa de aquel Fariseo, trajo un vaso de alabastro de ungüento;
38 and standing behind at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Y estando detrás a sus pies, comenzó llorando a regar con lágrimas sus pies, y los limpiaba con los cabellos de su cabeza; y besaba sus pies, y los ungía con el ungüento.
39 Now when the Pharisee that had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him, that she is a sinner.
Y como vio esto el Fariseo que le había llamado, pensó en sí, diciendo: Este, si fuera profeta, conocería quién y cuál es la mujer que le toca; que es pecadora.
40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Teacher, say on.
Entonces respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Simón, una cosa tengo que decirte. Y él le dice: Dí, Maestro.
41 A certain lender had two debtors: the one owed five hundred shillings, and the other fifty.
Y dice Jesús: Cierto acreedor tenía dos deudores: el uno le debía quinientos denarios, y el otro cincuenta.
42 When they had not [wherewith] to pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?
Y no teniendo ellos de qué pagar, soltó la deuda a ambos. Dí, pues, ¿cuál de estos le amará más?
43 Simon answered and said, He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
Y respondiendo Simón, dijo: Pienso que aquel al cual soltó más. Y él le dijo: Rectamente has juzgado.
44 And turning to the woman, he said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath wetted my feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair.
Y vuelto a la mujer, dijo a Simón: ¿Ves esta mujer? Entré en tu casa, no diste agua para mis pies; mas ésta ha regado mis pies con lágrimas, y limpiádo los con los cabellos de su cabeza.
45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but she, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
No me diste beso; mas esta desde que entré, no ha cesado de besar mis pies.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but she hath anointed my feet with ointment.
No ungiste mi cabeza con aceite; mas esta ha ungido con ungüento mis pies.
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little.
Por lo cual te digo, que sus muchos pecados son perdonados, porque amó mucho; mas al que se perdona poco, poco ama.
48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Y a ella dijo: Los pecados te son perdonados.
49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
Y los que estaban juntamente sentados a la mesa, comenzaron a decir entre sí: ¿Quién es éste, que también perdona pecados?
50 And he said unto the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Y dijo a la mujer: Tu fe te ha salvado, vé en paz.
