Luke 6
1 Now it came to pass on a sabbath, that he was going through the grainfields; and his disciples plucked the ears, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
੧ਇੱਕ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
2 But certain of the Pharisees said, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day?
੨ਤਦ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ?
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was hungry, he, and they that were with him;
੩ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ?
4 how he entered into the house of God, and took and ate the showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
੪ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ?
5 And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
੫ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
6 And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
੬ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗਾ, ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਸੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
7 And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.
੭ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਭਲਾ ਵੇਖੀਏ ਉਹ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਨਹੀਂ? ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲੇ।
8 But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
੮ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਸੁੱਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
9 And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
੯ਫੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ? ਜਾਨ ਬਚਾਉਣੀ ਜਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨੀ?।
10 And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did [so]: and his hand was restored.
੧੦ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ”। ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
11 But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
੧੧ਪਰ ਉਹ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ?।
12 And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
੧੨ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
13 And when it was day, he called his disciples; and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles:
੧੩ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਸੂਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਅਰਥਾਤ
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
੧੪ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਅੰਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਥੁਲਮਈ
15 and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphæus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਮੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਥੋਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਲਫ਼ਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜ਼ੇਲੋਤੇਸ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ
16 and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor;
੧੬ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਇਸਕਰਿਯੋਤੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫੜਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ।
17 and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judæa and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
੧੭ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਪੱਧਰੇ ਥਾਂ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢਿਓਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਆਏ ਸਨ।
18 and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
19 And all the multitude sought to touch him; for power came forth from him, and healed [them] all.
੧੯ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ।
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are] ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
੨੦ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਧੰਨ ਹੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਵਰਗ ਰਾਜ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਹੈ।
21 Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are] ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
੨੧ਧੰਨ ਹੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਣ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਜਾਏ ਜਾਓਗੇ। ਧੰਨ ਹੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਣ ਰੋਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਹੱਸੋਗੇ।
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
੨੨ਧੰਨ ਹੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਦ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਗੇ, ਮੰਦਾ ਆਖਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੁਰਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਕੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ।
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap [for joy]: for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
੨੩ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਨਾਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਛਲਣਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਵੇਖੋ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਫਲ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
੨੪ਪਰ ਹਾਏ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਲੈ ਚੁੱਕੇ।
25 Woe unto you, ye that are full now! for ye shall hunger. Woe [unto you], ye that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
੨੫ਹਾਏ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਣ ਰੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ। ਹਾਏ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੁਣ ਹੱਸਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੋਗ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਵੋਗੇ।
26 Woe [unto you], when all men shall speak well of you! for in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets.
੨੬ਹਾਏ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਦ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
27 But I say unto you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,
੨੭ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ। ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰੋ।
28 bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
੨੮ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿਉ। ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਰੱਖਣ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
29 To him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloak withhold not thy coat also.
੨੯ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ੍ਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਪੇੜ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਦੂਜੀ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਲ ਕਰ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਖੋਹ ਲਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੜਤਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਮਨ੍ਹਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ।
30 Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
੩੦ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੰਗੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਹ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਵੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਨਾ ਮੰਗ।
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
੩੧ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰੋ।
32 And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
੩੨ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਾਪੀ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ?
33 And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
੩੩ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਭਲਾ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਾਪੀ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ?
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
੩੪ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਧਾਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕੀ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਹੈ? ਪਾਪੀ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਧਾਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲੈਣ।
35 But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
੩੫ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰੋ। ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਧਾਰ ਦੇਵੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਫਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੱਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਾਸ਼ੁਕਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੂ ਹੈ।
36 Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
੩੬ਦਿਆਲੂ ਬਣੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਿਆਲੂ ਹੈ।
37 And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
੩੭ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਾ ਲਾਓ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਓ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਜਾਓਗੇ। ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ।
38 give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
੩੮ਦਿਓ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪੂਰਾ ਮਾਪ ਦੱਬ-ਦੱਬ ਕੇ ਹਿਲਾ-ਹਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਡੁਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਪਾਉਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਮਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮੁੜ ਮਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
39 And he spake also a parable unto them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?
੩੯ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕੀ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਡਿੱਗਣਗੇ?
40 The disciple is not above his teacher: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his teacher.
੪੦ਚੇਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
੪੧ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ?
42 Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
੪੨ਤੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿ ਲਿਆ! ਉਸ ਕੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਕੱਢ ਦਿਆਂ? ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ। ਹੇ ਕਪਟੀ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਤੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਤਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਕੱਢ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ।
43 For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.
੪੩ਕੋਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਾੜਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾੜਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਵੇ।
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
੪੪ਹਰੇਕ ਰੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਛਾਣਿਆਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਕੰਡਿਆਲੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੰਜ਼ੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋੜਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦਾਖ ਤੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ।
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
੪੫ਭਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਬੁਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੁਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹੋ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
੪੬ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ” ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ?
47 Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:
੪੭ਹਰੇਕ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ।
48 he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
੪੮ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਪੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਲਹਿਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਲਾ ਨਾ ਸਕੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.
੪੯ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਨੀਂਹ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਹਿਰ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਝੱਟ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਸੱਤਿਆਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
