Lamentations 3
1 I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
அவருடைய கோபத்தின் பிரம்பினால் உண்டான வேதனையைக் கண்ட மனிதன் நானே.
2 He hath led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
அவர் என்னை வெளியே துரத்தி, வெளிச்சத்தில் அல்ல, இருளிலேயே நடக்கச் செய்தார்.
3 Surely against me he turneth his hand again and again all the day.
உண்மையாக, திரும்பதிரும்ப நாள்முழுவதும் அவர் தமது கையை என்மேல் திருப்பினார்.
4 My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
எனது தசையையும் தோலையும் முதுமையடையும்படி செய்தார், என் எலும்புகளையும் உடைத்துவிட்டார்.
5 He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
அவர், கசப்பும் கஷ்டமும் முற்றுகையிட்டு என்னைச் சூழும்படி செய்தார்.
6 He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
வெகுகாலத்திற்குமுன் இறந்தவர்களைப்போல், என்னை இருளில் குடியிருக்கப் பண்ணினார்.
7 He hath walled me about, that I cannot go forth; he hath made my chain heavy.
நான் தப்பிவிடாதபடி அவர் என்னைச் சுற்றி வேலியடைத்தார்; அவர் பாரமான சங்கிலிகளை என்மேல் சுமத்தினார்.
8 Yea, when I cry, and call for help, he shutteth out my prayer.
நான் உதவிக்காகக் கூப்பிடும்போதோ, கதறி அழுகிறபோதோ அவர் என் மன்றாட்டைக் கேட்க மறுக்கிறார்.
9 He hath walled up my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.
செதுக்கிய கற்களால் அவர் என் வழியைத் தடைசெய்திருக்கிறார்; அவர் என் பாதைகளைக் கோணலாக்கியிருக்கிறார்.
10 He is unto me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.
பதுங்கியிருக்கும் கரடியைப்போலவும், மறைந்திருக்கும் சிங்கத்தைப் போலவும்,
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.
அவர் என்னைப் பாதையிலிருந்து இழுத்து, என்னை உருக்குலைத்து உதவியின்றிக் கைவிட்டார்.
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
அவர் தம்முடைய வில்லை வளைத்து, தமது அம்புகளுக்கு என்னை இலக்காக்கினார்.
13 He hath caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.
அவர் தன்னுடைய அம்புக் கூட்டிலிருந்த அம்புகளினால் என் இருதயத்தைக் குத்தினார்.
14 I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
நான் என்னுடைய எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் ஒரு சிரிப்புக்குரிய பொருளானேன்; அவர்கள் நாள்முழுவதும் பாடலினால் என்னை ஏளனம் செய்கிறார்கள்.
15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath sated me with wormwood.
அவர் என்னை கசப்பினால் நிரப்பி, காடியின் கசப்பினால் என்னை வெறுப்படையச் செய்தார்.
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he hath covered me with ashes.
அவர் என் பற்களைச் சரளைக் கல்லினால் உடைத்தார்; அவர் என்னைப் புழுதியில் மிதித்துவிட்டார்.
17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace; I forgat prosperity.
நான் சமாதானத்தை இழந்திருக்கிறேன்; சுகவாழ்வு என்ன என்பதையும் மறந்துவிட்டேன்.
18 And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.
ஆகையால் நான் கூறினதாவது, “என் சீர்சிறப்பும், யெகோவாவிடம் நான் கொண்டிருந்த எல்லா எதிர்பார்ப்பும் இல்லாமல் போயிற்று.”
19 Remember mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
நான் எனது துன்பத்தையும், அலைச்சலையும், அதன் மனக் கசப்பையும், காடியையும் நினைவுகூருகிறேன்.
20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is bowed down within me.
நான் அவைகளை நன்கு நினைவுகூருகிறேன், அப்பொழுது என் ஆத்துமா எனக்குள்ளே சோர்ந்துபோயிற்று.
21 This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.
ஆயினும் நான் இதை மனதில் கொண்டேன். அதனால் எனக்கு நம்பிக்கை உண்டு:
22 [It is of] Jehovah’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
அதாவது யெகோவாவின் பெரிதான அன்பினாலே நாம் அழிக்கப்படாமலிருக்கிறோம். ஏனெனில் அவரது இரக்கத்திற்கு முடிவேயில்லை.
23 They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.
உமது அன்பும் இரக்கமும் காலைதோறும் புதிதாயிருக்கின்றன; உமது உண்மை பெரியது.
24 Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
நான் எனக்குள் சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறேன், “யெகோவாவே என் உரிமைப் பங்கு; ஆகையால் நான் அவருக்காகக் காத்திருப்பேன்.”
25 Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
யெகோவாவிடம் எதிர்பார்ப்பு வைக்கிறவருக்கும், அவரைத் தேடுகிறவர்களுக்கும் அவர் நல்லவர்.
26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.
எனவே யெகோவாவின் இரட்சிப்புக்காக அமைதியாய் காத்திருப்பது நல்லது.
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
இளைஞனாய் இருக்கும்போதே அவரது கண்டனத்தின் நுகத்தைச் சுமப்பது ஒரு மனிதனுக்கு நல்லது.
28 Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he hath laid it upon him.
யெகோவா தாமே அதை அவன்மேல் வைத்தபடியால், அவன் மவுனமாய் தனிமையாய் அனுபவிக்கட்டும்.
29 Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
அவன் புழுதியில் தன் முகத்தைப் புதைக்கட்டும், ஒருவேளை இன்னமும் அவனுக்கு எதிர்பார்ப்பு இருக்கலாம்.
30 Let him give his cheek to him that smiteth him; let him be filled full with reproach.
அவன் தன்னை அடிப்பவனுக்குத் தன் மறு கன்னத்தைக் கொடுக்கட்டும், பகைவன் கொடுக்கும் அவமானங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளட்டும்.
31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever.
ஏனென்றால், ஆண்டவரால் ஒருவரும் என்றென்றும் கைவிடப்படுவதில்லை.
32 For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
அவர் துக்கத்தை வருவித்தாலும், அவர் இரக்கம் காண்பிப்பார். அவரது நேர்மையான அன்பு அவ்வளவு பெரியது.
33 For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.
அவர் துன்பத்தையோ துக்கத்தையோ மனிதரின் பிள்ளைகள்மேல் விருப்பத்துடன் வருவிப்பதில்லை.
34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
நாட்டிலுள்ள சிறைக் கைதிகளையெல்லாம் கால்களின்கீழ் மிதிப்பதையும்,
35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
ஒருவனின் மனித உரிமைகளை மகா உன்னதமானவரின் முன்னிலையில் மறுப்பதையும்,
36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
ஒரு மனிதனுக்கு நீதி வழங்கப்படாதிருப்பதையும் யெகோவா காணாதிருப்பாரோ?
37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
யெகோவா உத்தரவிடாவிட்டால், எதையாவது பேசி அதை நிகழப்பண்ண யாரால் முடியும்?
38 Out of the mouth of the Most High cometh there not evil and good?
பேரழிவு, நல்ல காரியங்கள் ஆகிய இரண்டும் மகா உன்னதமான இறைவனுடைய வாயிலிருந்தல்லவோ வருகின்றன.
39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
வாழ்கிற எந்த மனிதனும், தன் பாவங்களுக்காகத் தண்டிக்கப்படும்போது, ஏன் முறையிடவேண்டும்?
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.
ஆகவே நாங்கள் எங்கள் வழிகளை ஆராய்ந்து சோதிப்போம், யெகோவாவிடம் திரும்புவோம்.
41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
எங்கள் இருதயங்களையும், கைகளையும் பரலோகத்திலிருக்கும், இறைவனுக்கு நேராக உயர்த்தி:
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled; thou hast not pardoned.
“நாங்கள் பாவம் செய்து கலகம் பண்ணினோம், நீர் எங்களை மன்னிக்கவில்லை.
43 Thou hast covered with anger and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
“நீர் கோபத்தினால் உம்மை மூடிக்கொண்டு எங்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தீர்; இரக்கமின்றி எங்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டீர்.
44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
மேகத்தினால் நீர் உம்மை மூடிக்கொண்டிருப்பதால், மன்றாட்டு எதுவும் உம்மிடத்தில் வராது.
45 Thou hast made us an offscouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
நீர் எங்களை நாடுகளுக்குள் குப்பையும் கூழமுமாக ஆக்கியிருக்கிறீர்.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
“எங்கள் பகைவர்கள் யாவரும் தங்கள் வாயை விரிவாகத் திறந்து எங்களுக்கு எதிராகப் பேசுகிறார்கள்.
47 Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and destruction.
எங்கள்மேல் பயங்கரமும் கண்ணியும், பாழும் அழிவும் வந்தன.”
48 Mine eye runneth down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
என் மக்கள் அழிக்கப்பட்டதனால் என் கண்களிலிருந்து கண்ணீர் அருவியாய் ஓடுகிறது.
49 Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
என் கண்கள் ஓய்வின்றி, கண்ணீர் சிந்திக்கொண்டிருக்கும்.
50 Till Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.
பரலோகத்திலிருந்து யெகோவா கண்ணோக்கிப் பார்க்கும் வரைக்கும்.
51 Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
என் நகரத்திலுள்ள பெண்களின் நிலைமையை நான் காண்கையில், என் ஆத்துமா துக்கிக்கிறது.
52 They have chased me sore like a bird, they that are mine enemies without cause.
காரணமின்றி எனக்குப் பகைவர்களாயிருந்தவர்கள், என்னை ஒரு பறவையைப்போல் வேட்டையாடினார்கள்.
53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me.
அவர்கள் என் வாழ்வை முடிக்க முயன்று, குழியில் தள்ளி என்மேல் கற்களை எறிந்து மூடினார்கள்;
54 Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
வெள்ளம் என் தலையை மூடிக்கொண்டது. நான் அழிந்து போகப்போகிறேன் என்று நினைத்தேன்.
55 I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.
யெகோவாவே, குழியின் ஆழத்திலிருந்து, உமது பெயரைச்சொல்லிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்.
56 Thou heardest my voice; hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
“ஆறுதலுக்காகக் கதறும் என் சத்தத்திற்கு உமது செவியை மூடிக்கொள்ளாதேயும்” என்ற என் விண்ணப்பத்தை நீர் கேட்டீர்.
57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not.
நான் உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டபோது, நீர் என் அருகே வந்து, “நீ பயப்படாதே” என்றீர்.
58 O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
யெகோவாவே, நீரே என் வழக்கை பொறுப்பேற்றீர்; என் உயிரை மீட்டுக்கொண்டீர்.
59 O Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong; judge thou my cause.
யெகோவாவே! எனக்குச் செய்யப்பட்ட தீமைகளை நீர் கண்டிருக்கிறீர். நீர் எனக்காக வாதாடும்!
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.
அவர்களுடைய பழிவாங்குதலின் ஆழத்தையும், அவர்கள் எனக்கெதிராகப் போட்ட சதித்திட்டங்களையும் கண்டிருக்கிறீர்.
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, and all their devices against me,
யெகோவாவே, அவர்களுடைய எல்லா அவமதிப்புகளையும், எனக்கெதிரான அவர்களுடைய எல்லா சதிகளையும் கேட்டீர்;
62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
அதை என் பகைவர்கள் நாள்முழுவதும் இரகசியமாய்ப் பேசி, எனக்கு எதிராய் முணுமுணுக்கிறார்கள்.
63 Behold thou their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.
அவர்களைப் பாரும்! உட்கார்ந்தாலும் நின்றாலும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் பாடல்களால் என்னை கேலி செய்கிறார்கள்.
64 Thou wilt render unto them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.
யெகோவாவே, அவர்களுக்குத் தகுந்த பதில் செய்யும். அவர்களின் கைகள் செய்தவற்றுக்காக பதில் செய்யும்.
65 Thou wilt give them hardness of heart, thy curse unto them.
அவர்களுடைய இருதயத்தின்மேல் திரைபோடும், உமது சாபம் அவர்கள்மேல் இருக்கட்டும்.
66 Thou wilt pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
கோபத்தோடு அவர்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, யெகோவாவின் வானங்களின் கீழ் இருந்து அவர்களை அழித்துப்போடும்.
