Jonah 2
1 Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish’s belly.
E orou Jonas ao Senhor, seu Deus, das entranhas do peixe.
2 And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, [And] thou heardest my voice. (Sheol h7585)
E disse: Da minha angustia clamei ao Senhor, e elle me respondeu; do ventre do inferno gritei, e tu ouviste a minha voz. (Sheol h7585)
3 For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me.
Porque tu me lançaste no profundo, no coração dos mares, e a corrente me tem cercado; todas as tuas ondas e as tuas vagas teem passado por cima de mim.
4 And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
E eu dizia: Lançado estou de diante dos teus olhos; todavia tornarei a ver o templo da tua sanctidade.
5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head.
As aguas me cercaram até á alma, o abysmo me rodeou, e a alga se embrulhava á minha cabeça.
6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars [closed] upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.
Eu desci até aos fundamentos dos montes: os ferrolhos da terra me encerrariam para sempre; mas tu fizeste subir a minha vida da perdição, ó Senhor meu Deus.
7 When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, into thy holy temple.
Desfallecendo em mim a minha alma, me lembrei do Senhor; e entrou a ti a minha oração, no templo da tua sanctidade.
8 They that regard lying vanities Forsake their own mercy.
Os que observam as vaidades vãs deixam a sua propria misericordia.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah.
Mas eu te sacrificarei com a voz do agradecimento; o que votei pagarei: do Senhor vem a salvação.
10 And Jehovah spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Fallou pois o Senhor ao peixe: e vomitou a Jonas na terra.
