Job 33
1 Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, And hearken to all my words.
Assim, na verdade, ó Job, ouve as minhas razões, e dá ouvidos a todas as minhas palavras.
2 Behold now, I have opened my mouth; My tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
Eis que já abri a minha bocca: já fallou a minha lingua debaixo do meu paladar.
3 My words [shall utter] the uprightness of my heart; And that which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.
As minhas razões sairão da sinceridade do meu coração, e a pura sciencia dos meus labios.
4 The Spirit of God hath made me, And the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.
O Espirito de Deus me fez: e a inspiração do Todo-poderoso me deu vida.
5 If thou canst, answer thou me; Set [thy words] in order before me, stand forth.
Se podes responde-me, põe por ordem diante de mim a tua causa, e levanta-te.
6 Behold, I am toward God even as thou art: I also am formed out of the clay.
Eis que sou de Deus, como tu: do lodo tambem eu fui cortado.
7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, Neither shall my pressure be heavy upon thee.
Eis que não te perturbará o meu terror, nem será pesada sobre ti a minha mão.
8 Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, And I have heard the voice of [thy] words, [saying],
Na verdade que disseste aos meus ouvidos; e eu ouvi a voz das palavras, dizendo:
9 I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:
Limpo estou, sem transgressão: puro sou; e não tenho culpa.
10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me, He counteth me for his enemy;
Eis que acha contra mim achaques, e me considerou como seu inimigo.
11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, He marketh all my paths.
Põe no tronco os meus pés, e observa todas as minhas veredas.
12 Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; For God is greater than man.
Eis que n'isto te respondo: Não foste justo; porque maior é Deus do que o homem.
13 Why dost thou strive against him, For that he giveth not account of any of his matters?
Por que razão contendeste com elle? porque não responde ácerca de todos os seus feitos.
14 For God speaketh once, Yea twice, [though man] regardeth it not.
Antes Deus falla uma e duas vezes; porém ninguem attenta para isso.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumberings upon the bed;
Em sonho ou em visão de noite, quando cae somno profundo sobre os homens, e adormecem na cama,
16 Then he openeth the ears of men, And sealeth their instruction,
Então o revela ao ouvido dos homens, e lhes sella a sua instrucção.
17 That he may withdraw man [from his] purpose, And hide pride from man;
Para apartar o homem d'aquillo que faz, e esconder do homem a soberba.
18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.
Para desviar a sua alma da cova, e a sua vida de passar pela espada.
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with continual strife in his bones;
Tambem na sua cama é com dôres castigado; como tambem a multidão de seus ossos com fortes dôres.
20 So that his life abhorreth bread, And his soul dainty food.
De modo que a sua vida abomina até o pão, e a sua alma a comida appetecivel.
21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; And his bones that were not seen stick out.
Desapparece a sua carne á vista d'olhos, e os seus ossos, que se não viam, agora apparecem:
22 Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, And his life to the destroyers.
E a sua alma se vae chegando á cova, e a sua vida ao que traz morte.
23 If there be with him an angel, An interpreter, one among a thousand, To show unto man what is right for him;
Se com elle pois houver um mensageiro, um interprete, um entre milhares, para declarar ao homem a sua rectidão,
24 Then [God] is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.
Então terá misericordia d'elle, e lhe dirá: Livra-o, que não desça á cova; já achei resgate.
25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s; He returneth to the days of his youth.
Sua carne se reverdecerá mais do que era na mocidade, e tornará aos dias da sua juventude.
26 He prayeth unto God, and he is favorable unto him, So that he seeth his face with joy: And he restoreth unto man his righteousness.
Devéras orará a Deus, o qual se agradará d'elle, e verá a sua face com jubilo, e restituirá ao homem a sua justiça.
27 He singeth before men, and saith, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, And it profited me not:
Olhará para os homens, e dirá: Pequei, e perverti o direito, o que de nada me aproveitou.
28 He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit, And my life shall behold the light.
Porém Deus livrou a minha alma de que não passasse a cova; assim que a minha vida vê a luz.
29 Lo, all these things doth God work, Twice, [yea] thrice, with a man,
Eis que tudo isto obra Deus, duas e tres vezes para com o homem;
30 To bring back his soul from the pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
Para desviar a sua alma da perdição, e o alumiar com a luz dos viventes.
31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Escuta pois, ó Job, ouve-me: cala-te, e eu fallarei.
32 If thou hast anything to say, answer me: Speak, for I desire to justify thee.
Se tens alguma coisa que dizer, responde-me: falla, porque desejo justificar-te.
33 If not, hearken thou unto me: Hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.
Se não, escuta-me tu: cala-te, e ensinar-te-hei a sabedoria.
