Jeremiah 1
1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
Palavras de Jeremias, filho de Hilkias, dos sacerdotes que estavam em Anathoth, na terra de Benjamin:
2 to whom the word of Jehovah came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
Ao qual veiu a palavra do Senhor, nos dias de Josias, filho d'Ammon, rei de Judah, no decimo terceiro anno do seu reinado.
3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
Assim lhe veiu tambem nos dias de Jeheiakim, filho de Josias, rei de Judah, até ao fim do anno undecimo de Zedekias, filho de Josias, rei de Judah, até que Jerusalem foi levada em captiveiro no quinto mez.
4 Now the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Assim que veiu a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations.
Antes que te formasse no ventre, te conheci, e antes que saisses da madre, te sanctifiquei; ás nações te dei por propheta.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am a child.
Então disse eu: Ah Senhor Jehovah! Eis que não sei fallar; porque ainda sou um menino.
7 But Jehovah said unto me, Say not, I am a child; for to whomsoever I shall send thee thou shalt go, and whatsoever I shall command thee thou shalt speak.
Porém disse-me o Senhor: Não digas que és um menino; porque aonde quer que eu te enviar, irás; e tudo quanto te mandar fallarás.
8 Be not afraid because of them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith Jehovah.
Não temas diante d'elles; porque estou comtigo para te livrar, diz o Senhor.
9 Then Jehovah put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and Jehovah said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth:
E estendeu o Senhor a sua mão, e tocou-me na bocca: e disse-me o Senhor: Eis que ponho as minhas palavras na tua bocca:
10 see, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.
Olha, ponho-te n'este dia sobre as nações, e sobre os reinos, para arrancares, e para derribares, e para destruires, e para arruinares; e tambem para edificares e para plantares.
11 Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond-tree.
Veiu a mim mais a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: Que é o que vês, Jeremias? E eu disse: Vejo uma vara de amendoeira.
12 Then said Jehovah unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I watch over my word to perform it.
E disse-me o Senhor: Bem viste; porque apressurar-me-hei sobre a minha palavra para cumpril-a.
13 And the word of Jehovah came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a boiling caldron; and the face thereof is from the north.
E veiu a mim a palavra do Senhor segunda vez, dizendo: Que é o que vês? E eu disse: Vejo uma panella fervente, cuja face está para a banda do norte.
14 Then Jehovah said unto me, Out of the north evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
E disse-me o Senhor: Do norte se descobrirá o mal sobre todos os habitantes da terra.
15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith Jehovah; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
Porque eis que eu convoco todas as familias dos reinos do norte, diz o Senhor; e virão, e cada um porá o seu throno á entrada das portas de Jerusalem, e contra todos os seus muros em redor, e contra todas as cidades de Judah.
16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
E eu pronunciarei contra elles os meus juizos, por causa de toda a sua malicia; pois me deixaram a mim, e queimaram incenso a deuses estranhos, e se encurvaram diante das obras das suas mãos.
17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at them, lest I dismay thee before them.
Tu, pois, cinge os teus lombos, e levanta-te, e dize-lhes tudo quanto eu te mandar: não sejas espantado diante d'elles, para que eu te não espante diante d'elles.
18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
Porque, eis que te ponho hoje por cidade forte, e por columna de ferro, e por muros de bronze, contra toda a terra; contra os reis de Judah, contra os seus principes, contra os seus sacerdotes, e contra o povo da terra.
19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to deliver thee.
E pelejarão contra ti, mas não prevalecerão contra ti; porque eu estou comtigo, diz o Senhor, para te livrar.
