Isaiah 61
1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound;
L'Esprit du Seigneur Yahvé est sur moi, car Yahvé m'a oint pour annoncer la bonne nouvelle aux humbles. Il m'a envoyé pour panser les cœurs brisés, pour proclamer la liberté aux captifs et libère ceux qui sont liés,
2 to proclaim the year of Jehovah’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
pour proclamer l'année de la faveur de Yahvé et le jour de la vengeance de notre Dieu, pour réconforter tous ceux qui sont en deuil,
3 to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.
pour pourvoir aux besoins de ceux qui pleurent en Sion, pour leur donner une guirlande pour les cendres, l'huile de joie pour le deuil, le vêtement de la louange pour l'esprit de la lourdeur, pour qu'on les appelle des arbres de justice, la plantation de Yahvé, afin qu'il soit glorifié.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Ils rebâtiront les vieilles ruines. Ils relèveront les anciens lieux dévastés. Ils répareront les villes en ruines qui ont été dévastés depuis de nombreuses générations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers.
Des étrangers se tiendront debout et nourriront vos troupeaux. Des étrangers travailleront vos champs et vos vignes.
6 But ye shall be named the priests of Jehovah; men shall call you the ministers of our God: ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Mais vous serez appelés prêtres de Yahvé. Les hommes vous appelleront les serviteurs de notre Dieu. Vous mangerez les richesses des nations. Vous vous glorifierez de leur gloire.
7 Instead of your shame [ye shall have] double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Au lieu de ta honte, tu auras le double. Au lieu du déshonneur, ils se réjouiront de leur part. C'est pourquoi, dans leur pays, ils posséderont le double. La joie éternelle sera pour eux.
8 For I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
« Car moi, Yahvé, j'aime la justice. Je déteste le vol et l'iniquité. Je leur donnerai leur récompense dans la vérité et je conclurai avec eux une alliance éternelle.
9 And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Jehovah hath blessed.
Leur progéniture sera connue parmi les nations, et leur progéniture parmi les peuples. Tous ceux qui les verront les reconnaîtront, qu'ils sont la progéniture que Yahvé a bénie. »
10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Je me réjouirai de l'Éternel! Mon âme sera joyeuse en mon Dieu, car il m'a revêtu des habits du salut. Il m'a couvert de la robe de la justice, comme un jeune marié se pare d'une guirlande et comme une mariée se pare de ses bijoux.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth its bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
Car comme la terre produit son bourgeon, et comme le jardin fait germer les choses qui y sont semées, ainsi le Seigneur Yahvé fera jaillir la justice et la louange devant toutes les nations.
