Acts 21
1 And when it came to pass that we were parted from them and had set sail, we came with a straight course unto Cos, and the next day unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
೧ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಕೋಸ್‍ ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿದೆವು. ಮರುದಿನ ರೋದ ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಪತರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆವು.
2 and having found a ship crossing over unto Phoenicia, we went aboard, and set sail.
೨ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಫೊಯಿನೀಕೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದೆವು.
3 And when we had come in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left hand, we sailed unto Syria, and landed at Tyre; for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
೩ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಪ್ರದ್ವೀಪವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಎಡಗಡೆಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಸಿರಿಯದೇಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಸಾಗಿ ತೂರ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಇಳಿದೆವು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಕನ್ನು ಇಳಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು.
4 And having found the disciples, we tarried there seven days: and these said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not set foot in Jerusalem.
೪ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ, ಕಂಡು ಏಳು ದಿನ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಂಡೆವು. ಅವರು ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಪೌಲನಿಗೆ; ನೀನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಕಾಲಿಡಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
5 And when it came to pass that we had accomplished the days, we departed and went on our journey; and they all, with wives and children, brought us on our way till we were out of the city: and kneeling down on the beach, we prayed, and bade each other farewell;
೫ಆ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಾವು ಹೊರಡುವಾಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಡದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಊರ ಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ನಾವು ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿ,
6 and we went on board the ship, but they returned home again.
೬ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ವಂದನೆಮಾಡಿ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದೆವು; ಅವರು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
7 And when we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais; and we saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
೭ನಾವು ತೂರ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಪ್ತೊಲೆಮಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿ ಸಮುದ್ರಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿದೆವು. ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಇದ್ದು,
8 And on the morrow we departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and entering into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we abode with him.
೮ಮರುದಿನ ಹೊರಟು ಕೈಸರೈಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, ಸುವಾರ್ತಿಕನಾದ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡೆವು. ಅವನು ಆ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
9 Now this man had four virgin daughters, who prophesied.
೯ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರಾದ ನಾಲ್ಕುಮಂದಿ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿದ್ದರು; ಅವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
10 And as we tarried there some days, there came down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus.
೧೦ನಾವು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ದಿನಗಳು ಇದ್ದ ನಂತರ, ಅಗಬನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ಯೂದಾಯದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಪೌಲನ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು,
11 And coming to us, and taking Paul’s girdle, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, Thus saith the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
೧೧ತನ್ನ ಕೈಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು; “ಈ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟು ಯಾವನದೋ ಅವನನ್ನು ‘ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವರು, ಎಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ’” ಹೇಳಿದನು.
12 And when we heard these things, both we and they of that place besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
೧೨ಆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ನಾವು, ಆ ಸ್ಥಳದವರೂ; ನೀನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲೇಬಾರದೆಂದು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡೆವು.
13 Then Paul answered, What do ye, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
೧೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೌಲನು; “ನೀವು ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಏಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಎದೆಯೊಡೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ? ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡೀಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಸಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
೧೪ಅವನು ಒಪ್ಪದೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ; “ಕರ್ತನ ಚಿತ್ತದಂತೆ ಆಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಾವು ಸುಮ್ಮನಾದೆವು.
15 And after these days we took up our baggage and went up to Jerusalem.
೧೫ಆ ದಿನಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾವು ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟೆವು.
16 And there went with us also [certain] of the disciples from Cæsarea, bringing [with them] one Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we should lodge.
೧೬ಕೈಸರೈಯದಿಂದ ಕೆಲವು ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ನಾವು ಇಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದವನ ಮನೆಯ ತನಕ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಆ ಮನೆಯವನು ಪ್ರಥಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಕುಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮ್ನಾಸೋನನೆಂಬವನು.
17 And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
೧೭ನಾವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸಹೋದರರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
೧೮ಮರುದಿನ ಪೌಲನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಸಭೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸಹ ಬಂದರು.
19 And when he had saluted them, he rehearsed one by one the things which God had wrought among the Gentiles through his ministry.
೧೯ಪೌಲನು ಅವರನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವೆಯ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ಅನ್ಯಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೊಂದಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದನು.
20 And they, when they heard it, glorified God; and they said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of them that have believed; and they are all zealous for the law:
೨೦ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದರು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ; “ಸಹೋದರನೇ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬಿರುವವರು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
21 and they have been informed concerning thee, that thou teachest all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
೨೧ನೀನು ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ; ‘ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಮಾಡಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಮೋಶೆಯ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವೆ’ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
22 What is it therefore? they will certainly hear that thou art come.
೨೨ನೀನು ಬಂದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಹೇಗೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?
23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men that have a vow on them;
೨೩ಅದಕಾರಣ ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡು. ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಶಪಥಮಾಡಿದ ನಾಲ್ಕುಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
24 these take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges for them, that they may shave their heads: and all shall know that there is no truth in the things whereof they have been informed concerning thee; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, keeping the law.
೨೪ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವರೊಡನೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಷೌರದ ಶಪಥವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ಆಗುವ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೊಡು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ತಾವು ಕೇಳಿದ ಸುದ್ದಿ ನಿಜವಲ್ಲವೆಂತಲೂ, ನೀನು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತೀ, ಎಂತಲೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
25 But as touching the Gentiles that have believed, we wrote, giving judgment that they should keep themselves from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what is strangled, and from fornication.
೨೫ಅನ್ಯಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬಿರುವವರ ಕುರಿತಾದರೋ, ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ನೈವೇದ್ಯಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ, ರಕ್ತವನ್ನೂ, ಕತ್ತು ಹಿಸುಕಿ ಕೊಂದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಅನೈತಿಕತೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೂರವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನಾವು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them went into the temple, declaring the fulfilment of the days of purification, until the offering was offered for every one of them.
೨೬ಆಗ ಪೌಲನು ಮರುದಿನ ಆ ನಾಲ್ವರೊಡನೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಶುದ್ಧಾಚಾರದ ವಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದನು. ಅನಂತರ ಶುದ್ಧಾಚಾರ ಮುಗಿಯುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿ ಯಾವಾಗ ಬಲಿಯರ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದನು.
27 And when the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the multitude and laid hands on him,
೨೭ಆ ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಗಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಅಸ್ಯಸೀಮೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು ಗುಂಪುಕೂಡಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಚದುರಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು;
28 crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man that teacheth all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place; and moreover he brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath defiled this holy place.
೨೮“ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‍ ಜನರೇ, ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಿರಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಜನರಿಗೂ, ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ, ಈ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೂ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಬೋಧನೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಇವನೇ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇವನು ಗ್ರೀಕರನ್ನು ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಈ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದರು.
29 For they had before seen with him in the city Trophimus the Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.
೨೯ಮೊದಲು ಅವರು ಎಫೆಸದ ತ್ರೊಫಿಮನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪೌಲನು ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿದರು.
30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together; and they laid hold on Paul, and dragged him out of the temple: and straightway the doors were shut.
೩೦ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೋಲಾಹಲವೆದ್ದಿತು, ಜನರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಓಡಿಬಂದು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೊರಗಡೆಗೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದರು.
31 And as they were seeking to kill him, tidings came up to the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in confusion.
೩೧ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಯಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಪಟಾಲಮಿನ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ವರದಿ ಬಂದಿತು.
32 And forthwith he took soldiers and centurions, and ran down upon them: and they, when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, left off beating Paul.
೩೨ಅವನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಜನಸಮೂಹದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಓಡಿಬಂದನು. ಅವರು ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
33 Then the chief captain came near, and laid hold on him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and inquired who he was, and what he had done.
೩೩ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಬೇಡಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟು;
34 And some shouted one thing, some another, among the crowd: and when he could not know the certainty for the uproar, he commanded him to be brought into the castle.
೩೪ಇವನಾರು? ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಕೆಲವರು ಹೀಗೆ, ಕೆಲವರು ಹಾಗೆ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಿರಲು ಗದ್ದಲದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಿಜ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲಾರದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೋಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
35 And when he came upon the stairs, so it was that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the crowd;
೩೫ಪೌಲನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಜನರ ನೂಕಾಟದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಯಿತು.
36 for the multitude of the people followed after, crying out, Away with him.
೩೬ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿದ ಜನರು ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದು; “ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
37 And as Paul was about to be brought into the castle, he saith unto the chief captain, May I say something unto thee? And he said, Dost thou know Greek?
೩೭ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಕೋಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದರೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಅವನು ಆ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಮಾತು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಇದೆಯೋ”? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು; “ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ಭಾಷೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೋ?
38 Art thou not then the Egyptian, who before these days stirred up to sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?
೩೮ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ದಂಗೆ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಘಾತಕರನ್ನು ಅಡವಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದ ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನು ನೀನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
39 But Paul said, I am a Jew, of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and I beseech thee, give me leave to speak unto the people.
೩೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೌಲನು; ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನು, ತಾರ್ಸದವನು, ಕಿಲಿಕ್ಯಸೀಮೆಯ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವನು. ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
40 And when he had given him leave, Paul, standing on the stairs, beckoned with the hand unto the people; and when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew language, saying,
೪೦ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡಲು, ಪೌಲನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೈಸನ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಗದ್ದಲವು ಬಹಳ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನು ಇಬ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.,
