< 1 Timothy 2 >

1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;
To pongah, hmaloe koekah, kaminawk boih han lawkthui paeh; nihcae han hni paeh, lawkthui paeh, kawnhaih lok to thui paeh;
2 for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.
Sithaw a bok o moe, pakoeh o thaih han hoi monghaih hoi kamding rue ah kho a sak o thai hanah, siangpahrangnawk hoi ukhaih akaa tawn kaminawk boih hanah lawkthui paeh.
3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Hae tiah lawkthuihaih loe aicae pahlongkung Sithaw mikhnuk ah tapom thai koi kahoih hmuen ah oh;
4 who would have all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.
kaminawk boih to pahlong moe, loktang lok panoeksakhaih loe anih koehhaih ah oh.
5 For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, [himself] man, Christ Jesus,
Sithaw maeto khue oh moe, Sithaw hoi kami salakah Laicaeh maeto khue ni oh, to Kami loe Kri Jesu to ni;
6 who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony [to be borne] in its own times;
Anih loe kami boih akrang hanah, atue akoep naah amtueng moe, angmah hoi angmah to angpaek.
7 whereunto I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth, I lie not), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
To pongah ni kai hae tamthanglok taphong kami hoi patoeh ih kami ah ang suek, (Kri ah loktang ni ka thuih, lok kamlai ai; ) tanghaih hoi loktang lok taphong hanah Gentelnawk patukkung ah ang suek.
8 I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.
To pongah nongpanawk mah kaciim ban to payangh moe, palungphuihaih hoi palunghaenghaih om ai ah, ahmuen kruekah lawkthuih o han ka koeh haih.
9 In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raiment;
To baktih toengah nongpatanawk mah doeh, khet kahoih ah amthoep moe, khet kamcuk khukbuen to angkhuk o han oh, sampakhui han om ai, sui bungmu doeh, atho kana pale doeh, atho kana khukbuennawk hoiah doeh amthoep o han om ai,
10 but (which becometh women professing godliness) through good works.
toe (Sithaw koehhaih baktiah khosah nongpatanawk loe) kahoih toksakhaih hoiah amthoep o han o.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
Nongpata loe ukhaih tlim ah khosah nasoe loe, lokpunghaih om ai ah amtuk nasoe.
12 But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness.
Toe nongpata mah patuk moe, nongpa nuiah sakthaihaih akaa tawnh hanah ka koeh haih ai, anih loe anghngai duem han oh.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve;
Adam sak pacoengah ni Evi to sak vop.
14 and Adam was not beguiled, but the woman being beguiled hath fallen into transgression:
Adam loe pacuek ah om ai, nongpata loe pacuek ah oh moe, zaehaih thungah amtimh.
15 but she shall be saved through her child-bearing, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with sobriety.
Toe nongpata loe tanghaih, amlunghaih, ciimcaihaih hoi tuinuen angsumhaih bangah cak poe nahaeloe, ca tapenhaih kana pauephaih thung hoiah pahlonghaih hnu o tih.
