1 Thessalonians 2
1 For yourselves, brethren, know our entering in unto you, that it hath not been found vain:
೧ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ,
2 but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as ye know, at Philippi, we waxed bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God in much conflict.
೨ನಮಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂಸೆಯೂ ಅವಮಾನವೂ ಮೊದಲು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತಾದರೂ, ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮೂಲಕ ಧೈರ್ಯಗೊಂಡು ಬಹು ವಿರೋಧವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವವರಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ದೇವರ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
3 For our exhortation [is] not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
೩ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೋಧನೆಯು ತಪ್ಪಾದದ್ದಲ್ಲ, ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದದ್ದೂ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಮೋಸವೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
4 but even as we have been approved of God to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God who proveth our hearts.
೪ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯೋಗ್ಯರೆಂದೆಣಿಸಿ, ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯಲ್ಲ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೋಧಿಸುವ ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
5 For neither at any time were we found using words of flattery, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness, God is witness;
೫ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಯಾರ ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ದುರಾಶೆಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡುವುಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವೇಷವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ.
6 nor seeking glory of men, neither from you nor from others, when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.
೬ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾವು ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಬಹುದಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಮಾನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಇತರರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
7 But we were gentle in the midst of you, as when a nurse cherisheth her own children:
೭ಆದರೆ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾತ್ಸಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
8 even so, being affectionately desirous of you, we were well pleased to impart unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were become very dear to us.
೮ನೀವು ನಮಗೆ ಅತಿಪ್ರಿಯರಾದ ಕಾರಣ ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಮಮತೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ಕೊಡಲೂ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದೆವು.
9 For ye remember, brethren, our labor and travail: working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
೯ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೊರೆಯಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ದುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾ ದೇವರ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಾರಿದೆವು. ಆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಷ್ಟವೂ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿರಲಿ.
10 Ye are witnesses, and God [also], how holily and righteously and unblamably we behaved ourselves toward you that believe:
೧೦ನಂಬುವವರಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ನಿರ್ಮಲರಾಗಿಯೂ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡೆವೆಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರೂ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
11 as ye know how we [dealt with] each one of you, as a father with his own children, exhorting you, and encouraging [you], and testifying,
೧೧ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ,
12 to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.
೧೨ಧೈರ್ಯಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆತನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕರೆಯುವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಹಾಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯರಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಜೀವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ವಿಧಿಸಿದೆವೆಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೇ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.
13 And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, [even the word] of God, ye accepted [it] not [as] the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.
೧೩ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂದೆಣಿಸದೆ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂದೇ ತಿಳಿದು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವಂತೂ ಎಡೆಬಿಡದೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅದು ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೇ. ಆ ವಾಕ್ಯವು, ನಂಬುವವರಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
14 For ye, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judæa in Christ Jesus: for ye also suffered the same things of your own countrymen, even as they did of the Jews;
೧೪ಹೌದು, ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ಯೂದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದಿರಿ. ಅವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಂದ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದಂಥ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವದೇಶದವರಿಂದ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದಿರಿ.
15 who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove out us, and please not God, and are contrary to all men;
೧೫ಆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದರು ಹಾಗು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ಅಟ್ಟಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವವರಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೂ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
16 forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always: but the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
೧೬ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವ ನಮಗೂ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕಡೆಗೆ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
17 But we, brethren, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence not in heart, endeavored the more exceedingly to see your face with great desire:
೧೭ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಾವಂತೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಕಾಲ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗಲದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದೆವು.
18 because we would fain have come unto you, I Paul once and again; and Satan hindered us.
೧೮ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಮಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿತ್ತು. ಹೇಗೂ ಪೌಲನೆಂಬ ನಾನು ಒಂದೆರಡು ಸಾರಿ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಸೈತಾನನು ನನಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glorying? Are not even ye, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?
೧೯ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂತೋಷವೂ, ನಾವು ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕಿರೀಟವೂ ಯಾರು? ನೀವೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ.
20 For ye are our glory and our joy.
೨೦ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನೀವೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
