1 Chronicles 11
1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
இஸ்ரயேலர் யாவரும் ஒன்றுகூடி, எப்ரோனில் இருந்த தாவீதினிடத்திற்கு வந்து, “நாங்கள் உமது எலும்பும் உமது சதையுமாயிருக்கிறோம்.
2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was thou that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and Jehovah thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt be shepherd of my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over my people Israel.
கடந்த நாட்களில் சவுல் அரசனாயிருந்தபோதும், இஸ்ரயேலர்களைப் போரில் வழிநடத்தியவர் நீரே. உமது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உம்மிடம், ‘நீ எனது மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலரை மேய்த்து, அவர்களுடைய ஆளுநனாகவும் இருப்பாய்’ என்று சொன்னாரே” என்றார்கள்.
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by Samuel.
இஸ்ரயேலின் முதியவர்கள் எல்லோரும் தாவீது அரசனிடம் எப்ரோனுக்கு வந்தபோது, தாவீது யெகோவா முன்னிலையில் எப்ரோனில் அவர்களுடன் ஒரு உடன்படிக்கை செய்தான். சாமுயேலுக்கு யெகோவா கொடுத்திருந்த வாக்குப்படியே அவர்கள் தாவீதை இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அரசனாக அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினார்கள்.
4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (the same is Jebus); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
தாவீதும் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் எல்லோரும் எபூசு எனப்பட்ட எருசலேமுக்கு அணிவகுத்துப் போனார்கள்.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
அங்கு வாழ்ந்த எபூசியர் தாவீதிடம், “நீ இதற்குள் நுழையமாட்டாய்” எனச் சொன்னார்கள். ஆயினும், தாவீது சீயோனின் கோட்டையைக் கைப்பற்றினான். அதுவே தாவீதின் நகரம் எனப்பட்டது.
6 And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
எபூசியரை முதலில் தாக்குகிறவன் எவனோ அவனே பிரதம படைத்தளபதியாய் இருப்பான் என தாவீது சொல்லியிருந்தான். செருயாவின் மகன் யோவாப் முதலில் போனதால் அவனே படைத்தளபதி ஆனான்.
7 And David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
பின்பு தாவீது அந்த கோட்டையில் குடியமர்ந்தான். ஆகையால் அது தாவீதின் நகரம் என அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
8 And he built the city round about, from Millo even round about; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
அவன் அந்த கோட்டையைச் சுற்றி மில்லோவிலிருந்து சுற்றியிருக்கும் மதில்வரை நகரத்தைக் கட்டினான். யோவாப் மிகுதியான நகரத்தைப் புதுப்பித்துக் கட்டினான்.
9 And David waxed greater and greater; for Jehovah of hosts was with him.
சேனைகளின் யெகோவா தாவீதுடன் இருந்ததால் அவன் மென்மேலும் வலிமையடைந்தான்.
10 Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of Jehovah concerning Israel.
எல்லா இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களோடும் சேர்ந்து தாவீதுடன் இருந்த வலிமைமிக்க தலைவர்கள் இவர்களே. இவர்கள் இஸ்ரயேலைக் குறித்து யெகோவா கொடுத்த வாக்குத்தத்தத்திற்கு ஏற்றபடி, தாவீதின் அரசை விரிவடையச் செய்தார்கள்.
11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them at one time.
தாவீதின் வலிமைமிக்க மனிதர்களின் பட்டியல் இதுவே: அக்மோனியனான யாஷோபியாம் அதிகாரிகளுக்குத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான்; இவனே தனக்கு எதிர்பட்ட முந்நூறுபேரை ஒரே நேரத்தில் தன் ஈட்டியால் கொன்றான்.
12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
அவனுக்கு அடுத்ததாக அகோகியனான தோதோவின் மகன் எலெயாசார் வலிமைமிக்க மூவரில் ஒருவனாயிருந்தான்.
13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
இவன் பெலிஸ்தியர் பாஸ்தம்மீம் என்னும் இடத்தில் போருக்குக் கூடியிருந்தபோது, தாவீதுடன் இருந்தான். அந்த இடத்திலிருந்த வயல், வாற்கோதுமையினால் நிறைந்திருந்தது; இராணுவவீரரோ பெலிஸ்தியருக்குமுன் தப்பி ஓடினார்கள்.
14 And they stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and Jehovah saved them by a great victory.
ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் வயலின் நடுவில் நின்று அந்த வயலைப் பாதுகாத்து பெலிஸ்தியரை வெட்டி வீழ்த்தினார்கள். யெகோவா இவ்வாறு அவர்களுக்குப் பெரிய வெற்றியைக் கொடுத்தார்.
15 And three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
ஒருமுறை பெலிஸ்தியர் ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் வந்து முகாமிட்டிருந்தார்கள். அவ்வேளை வலிமைமிக்க முப்பதுபேரில் மூன்றுபேர் அதுல்லாமிலுள்ள கற்குகையில் இருந்த தாவீதினிடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்.
16 And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
அந்த நேரத்தில் தாவீது அரணான இடத்தில் இருந்தான்; பெலிஸ்தியரின் படையோ பெத்லெகேமில் இருந்தது.
17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!
தாவீது, “பெத்லெகேமின் வாசலில் இருக்கும் கிணற்றிலிருந்து எனக்கு யாராவது குடிக்க தண்ணீர் கொண்டுவந்தால் எவ்வளவு நல்லது!” என ஆவலுடன் கூறினான்.
18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto Jehovah,
எனவே அந்த மூவரும் பெலிஸ்தியரின் முகாமின் உள்ளே சென்று பெத்லெகேமின் வாசலின் அருகில் உள்ள கிணற்றிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் அள்ளி, கொண்டுவந்து தாவீதுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள். ஆனால் தாவீது அதைக் குடிக்க மறுத்து அதை யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக வெளியே ஊற்றினான்.
19 and said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with [the jeopardy of] their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
அவன், “இறைவனே, நான் இதைச் செய்வதற்கு எண்ணியும் பார்க்கமாட்டேன். தங்கள் உயிரையும் ஒரு பொருட்டாக எண்ணாமல் தண்ணீர் கொண்டுவந்த இந்த மனிதர்களின் இரத்தத்தை நான் குடிப்பேனோ?” என்றான். இவர்கள் தங்கள் உயிருக்கு வர இருந்த ஆபத்தையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் அதைக் கொண்டுவந்ததால் தாவீது அதைக் குடிக்கவில்லை. இத்தகைய துணிகரமான செயல்களை இந்த மூன்று வலிமைமிக்க மனிதர்களும் செய்தார்கள்.
20 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
யோவாபின் சகோதரன் அபிசாய் இந்த மூன்றுபேருக்கு தலைவனாயிருந்தான். இவன் தன் ஈட்டியை உயர்த்தி முந்நூறுபேரைக் கொன்றதினால், அந்த மூன்றுபேரைப் போல புகழ் பெற்றவனாயிருந்தான்.
21 Of the three, he was more honorable than the two, and was made their captain: howbeit he attained not to the [first] three.
அவன் அந்த மூன்று பேருக்கும் மேலாக இரண்டு மடங்கு கனப்படுத்தப்பட்டு, அவர்களோடு சேர்க்கப்படாதபோதும், அவர்களுக்குத் தளபதியானான்.
22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
கப்சேயேல் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயா, மிகவும் பலமுள்ள போர்வீரனாயிருந்தான்; அவன் பல துணிச்சலான செயல்களைச் செய்திருந்தான். இவன் மோவாபியரில் இரண்டு சிறந்த வீரர்களை கொலைசெய்திருந்தான். அதோடு உறைபனி காலத்தில் ஒரு குழிக்குள் இறங்கி ஒரு சிங்கத்தையும் கொன்றான்.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
அதோடு ஏழரை அடி உயரமான ஒரு எகிப்தியனையும் வெட்டிக்கொன்றான். அந்த எகிப்தியன் நெசவாளனின் கோலைப்போலுள்ள ஈட்டியைக் கையில் பிடித்திருந்தான். ஆனால் பெனாயாவோ கையில் ஒரு கம்புடன் அவனுக்கெதிராகச் சென்று, அவனுடைய கையில் இருந்த ஈட்டியைப் பறித்து, அதனாலேயே எகிப்தியனைக் கொன்றான்.
24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
இவ்விதமான வீரச்செயலை யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயா செய்ததினால் அவன் அந்த மூன்று மாவீரர்களைப் போல புகழ் பெற்றவனாயிருந்தான்.
25 Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he attained not to the [first] three: and David set him over his guard.
இவன் அந்த முப்பது பேரிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவனாக எண்ணப்பட்டான். ஆயினும் முன்கூறிய அந்த மூவருள் ஒருவனாகவில்லை. தாவீது அவனைத் தனது மெய்க்காவலருக்குப் பொறுப்பாக நியமித்தான்.
26 Also the mighty men of the armies: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem,
படையின் மற்ற மாவீரர்கள்: யோவாபின் சகோதரன் ஆசகேல், பெத்லெகேமைச் சேர்ந்த தோதோவின் மகன் எல்க்கானான்,
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
ஆரோதியனான சம்மோத், பெலோனியனான ஏலேஸ்,
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite,
தெக்கோவாவைச் சேர்ந்த இக்கேசின் மகன் ஈரா, ஆனதோத்தியனான அபியேசர்,
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
ஊஷாத்தியனான சிபெக்காய், அகோகியனான ஈலாய்,
30 Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,
நெத்தோபாத்தியனான மகராயி, நெத்தோபாத்தியனான பானாவின் மகன் ஏலேத்,
31 Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
பென்யமீனியரின் கிபியா ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த ரிபாயின் மகன் இத்தாயி, பிரத்தோனியனான பெனாயா,
32 Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
காயாஸ் பள்ளத்தாக்கைச் சேர்ந்தவனான ஊராயி, அர்பாத்தியனான அபியேல்,
33 Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,
பகரூமியனான அஸ்மாவேத், சால்போனியனான எலியாபா,
34 the sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shagee the Hararite,
கீசோனியனாகிய ஆசேமின் மகன்கள், ஆராரியனான சாகியின் மகன் யோனத்தான்,
35 Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
ஆராரியனான சாக்காரின் மகன் அகியாம், ஊரின் மகன் ஏலிபால்,
36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,
மெகராத்தியனான ஏப்பேர், பெலோனியனான அகியா,
37 Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,
கர்மேலியனான ஏஸ்ரோ, ஏஸ்பாயின் மகன் நாராயி,
38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri,
நாத்தானின் சகோதரன் யோயேல், அகரியின் மகன் மிப்கார்.
39 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armorbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,
அம்மோனியனான சேலேக், செருயாவின் மகனும் யோவாபின் யுத்த ஆயுதங்களைச் சுமக்கிறவனுமான பேரோத்தியனான நகராய்,
40 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
இத்திரியனான ஈரா, இத்திரியனான காரேப்,
41 Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,
ஏத்தியனான உரியா, அக்லாயின் மகன் சாபாத்,
42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,
ரூபனியனான சீசாவின் மகன் அதினா ரூபனியருக்குத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான். அவனுடன் அந்த முப்பது பேரும் இருந்தனர்.
43 Hanan the son of Maacah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,
மாகாவின் மகன் ஆனான், மிதினியனான யோசபாத்,
44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite,
அஸ்தராத்தியனான உசியா, அரோயேரியனான ஒத்தாமின் மகன்கள் சாமா, ஏயேல் என்பவர்கள்,
45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,
சிம்ரியின் மகன் ஏதியாயேல், தித்சியனான அவன் சகோதரன் யோகா,
46 Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,
மகாவியனான எலியேல், ஏல்நாமின் மகன்கள் ஏரிபாயும் யொசவியாவும், மோவாபியனான இத்மா,
47 Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
மெசோபாயா ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த எலியேல், ஓபேத், யாசியேல் என்பவர்களே.
