Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Que diremos pois? Permaneceremos no peccado, para que a graça abunde?
2 May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
De modo nenhum. Nós, que estamos mortos para o peccado, como viveremos ainda n'elle?
3 Or do not you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Ou não sabeis que todos quantos fomos baptizados em Jesus Christo fomos baptizados na sua morte?
4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
De sorte que estamos sepultados com elle pelo baptismo na morte; para que, como Christo resuscitou dos mortos, pela gloria do Pae, assim andemos nós tambem em novidade de vida.
5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
Porque, se fomos plantados juntamente com elle na similhança da sua morte, tambem o seremos na da sua resurreição:
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
Sabendo isto, que o nosso homem velho foi com elle crucificado, para que o corpo do peccado seja desfeito, para que não sirvamos mais ao peccado.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Porque o que está morto está justificado do peccado.
8 But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him,
Ora, se já morremos com Christo, cremos que tambem com elle viveremos:
9 knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him!
Sabendo que, havendo Christo resuscitado dos mortos, já não morre: a morte não mais terá dominio sobre elle.
10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
Pois, emquanto a morrer, de uma vez morreu para o peccado, mas, emquanto a viver, vive para Deus.
11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Assim tambem vós considerae-vos como mortos para o peccado, mas vivos para Deus em Christo Jesus nosso Senhor.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
Não reine portanto o peccado em vosso corpo mortal, para lhe obedecerdes em suas concupiscencias;
13 Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
Nem tão pouco apresenteis os vossos membros ao peccado por instrumentos de iniquidade; mas apresentae-vos a Deus, como vivos d'entre mortos, e os vossos membros a Deus, como instrumentos de justiça.
14 For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
Porque o peccado não terá dominio sobre vós, pois não estaes debaixo da lei, mas debaixo da graça.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!
Pois que? Peccaremos porque não estamos debaixo da lei, mas debaixo da graça? de modo nenhum.
16 Do not you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
Não sabeis vós que a quem vos apresentardes por servos para obedecer sois servos d'aquelle a quem obedeceis, ou do peccado para a morte, ou da obediencia para a justiça?
17 But thanks be to God that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered.
Porém, graças a Deus que vós fostes servos do peccado, mas obedecestes de coração á forma de doutrina a que fostes entregues.
18 Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.
E, libertados do peccado, fostes feitos servos da justiça.
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.
Fallo como homem, pela fraqueza da vossa carne: pois que, assim como apresentastes os vossos membros para servirem á immundicia, e á maldade para maldade, assim apresentae agora os vossos membros para servirem á justiça para sanctificação.
20 For when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.
Porque, quando ereis servos do peccado, estaveis livres da justiça.
21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
Pois que fructo tinheis então das coisas de que agora vos envergonhaes? porque o fim d'ellas é a morte.
22 But now, being made free from sin and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification and the result of consummate (aiōnios g166) life.
Mas agora, libertados do peccado, e feitos servos de Deus, tendes o vosso fructo para sanctificação, e por fim a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
