Revelation 9

1 The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the Abyss (Abyssos g12) was given to him.

Y el quinto ángel tocó la trompeta, y ví una estrella caída del cielo en la tierra; y a aquel fue dada la llave del pozo del abismo. (Abyssos g12)

2 He opened the pit of the Abyss (Abyssos g12), and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.

Y abrió el pozo del abismo, y subió un humo del pozo como el humo de una grande hornaza; y el sol, y el aire fue oscurecido por razón del humo del pozo. (Abyssos g12)

3 Then out of the smoke came locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Y del humo del pozo salieron langostas sobre la tierra; y les fue dada potestad, como tienen potestad los escorpiones de la tierra.

4 They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads.

Y fuéles mandado que no hiciesen daño a la yerba de la tierra, ni a ninguna cosa verde, ni a ningún árbol, sino solamente a los hombres que no tienen la señal de Dios en sus frentes.

5 They were given power, not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a person.

Y les fue dado que no los matasen, sino que los atormentasen cinco meses; y su tormento era como tormento de escorpión cuando hiere al hombre.

6 In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.

Y en aquellos días buscarán los hombres la muerte, y no la hallarán; y desearán morir, y la muerte huirá de ellos.

7 The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people’s faces.

Y el parecer de las langostas era semejante a caballos aparejados para guerra; y sobre sus cabezas tenían como coronas semejantes al oro; y sus caras eran como caras de hombres.

8 They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.

Y tenían cabellos como cabellos de mujeres; y sus dientes eran como dientes de leones.

9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of many chariots and horses rushing to war.

Y tenían corazas como corazas de hierro; y el estruendo de sus alas, como el ruido de los carros, que con muchos caballos corren a la batalla.

10 They have tails like those of scorpions, with stingers. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.

Y tenían colas semejantes a las colas de los escorpiones; y tenían en sus colas aguijones; y su potestad era de hacer daño a los hombres cinco meses.

11 They have over them as king the angel of the Abyss (Abyssos g12). His name in Hebrew is "Abaddon", and in Greek, he has the name "Apollyon".

Y tenían sobre sí un rey, que es el ángel del abismo, el cual tenía por nombre en Hebraico Abaddón, y en Griego Apolión. (Abyssos g12)

12 The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.

El un ay es pasado; y, he aquí, vienen aun dos veces ay después de estas cosas.

13 The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God,

Y el sexto ángel tocó la trompeta, y oí una voz de los cuatro cuernos del altar de oro, el cual está delante de Dios,

14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!”

Que decía al sexto ángel que tenía la trompeta: Desata los cuatro ángeles que están atados en el grande río Éufrates.

15 The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.

Y fueron desatados los cuatro ángeles que estaban aprestados para la hora, y día, y mes, y año, a fin de matar la tercera parte de los hombres.

16 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million. I heard the number of them.

Y el número del ejército de los de a caballo era doscientos millones. Y oí el número de ellos.

17 Thus I saw the horses in the vision and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the horses’ heads resembled lions’ heads. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur.

Y así ví los caballos en la visión; y los que estaban sentados sobre ellos tenían corazas de fuego, de jacinto, y de azufre. Y las cabezas de los caballos eran como cabezas de leones; y de la boca de ellos salía fuego, y humo, y azufre.

18 By these three plagues, one third of mankind was killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths.

Y de estas tres plagas fue muerta la tercera parte de los hombres, del fuego, y del humo, y del azufre, que salían de la boca de ellos.

19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads; and with them they harm.

Porque su poder está en su boca, y en sus colas. Porque sus colas eran semejantes a serpientes, y tenían cabezas, y con ellas dañan.

20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they would not worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.

Y los otros hombres que no fueron muertos con estas plagas, aun no se arrepintieron de las obras de sus manos, para que no adorasen a los demonios, y a las imágenes de oro, y de plata, y de metal, y de piedra, y de madera: las cuales no pueden ver, ni oír, ni andar.

21 They did not repent of their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.

Ni tampoco se arrepintieron de sus homicidios, ni de sus hechicerías, ni de su fornicación, ni de sus hurtos.
