Psalms 89

1 A contemplation by Ethan, the Ezrahite. I will sing of the loving kindness of the LORD forever. With my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.

Las misericordias de Yavé cantaré perpetuamente. Con mi boca proclamaré tu fidelidad.

2 I indeed declare, “Love stands firm forever. You established the heavens. Your faithfulness is in them.”

Porque dije: La misericordia será edificada para siempre. En los cielos estableces tu fidelidad.

3 “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant,

Pacté con mi escogido. Juré a David mi esclavo:

4 ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build up your throne to all generations.’” (Selah)

Estableceré tu descendencia para siempre Y edificaré tu trono para todas tus generaciones. (Selah)

5 The heavens will praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

Los cielos alabarán tus maravillas, oh Yavé, Y tu fidelidad en la congregación de los santos.

6 For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like the LORD,

Porque, ¿quién en los cielos es comparable a Yavé? ¿Quién entre los hijos de ʼEL es como Yavé?

7 a very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, to be feared above all those who are around him?

ʼEL es grandemente temido en la congregación de los santos, Asombroso por encima de todos los que están alrededor de Él.

8 LORD, God of Armies, who is a mighty one, like you? LORD, your faithfulness is around you.

Oh Yavé, ʼElohim de las huestes, ¿quién como Tú, oh poderoso YA? Tu fidelidad también te rodea.

9 You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.

Tú dominas la braveza del mar. Cuando se levantan sus olas, Tú las calmas.

10 You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

Tú quebrantaste [al monstruo ]Rahab. Como a uno que es herido de muerte Esparciste a tus enemigos con tu poderoso brazo.

11 The heavens are yours. The earth also is yours, the world and its fullness. You have founded them.

Tuyos son los cielos. Tuya también la tierra, El mundo y todo lo que contiene. Tú los fundaste.

12 You have created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.

Tú creaste el norte y el sur. La montaña Tabor y la montaña Hermón se regocijan en tu Nombre.

13 You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.

Tienes un brazo potente. Poderosa es tu mano. Tu mano derecha es exaltada.

14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face.

La justicia y el juicio justo son el cimiento de tu trono. La misericordia y la verdad van delante de Ti.

15 Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, LORD.

Inmensamente feliz es el pueblo que conoce el clamor de júbilo. Andarán a la luz de tu rostro, oh Yavé.

16 In your name they rejoice all day. In your righteousness, they are exalted.

En tu Nombre se regocijan todo el día, Y en justicia son exaltados.

17 For you are the glory of their strength. In your favor, our horn will be exalted.

Porque Tú eres el esplendor de su fuerza, Y por tu buena voluntad exaltas nuestro poder.

18 For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.

Porque de Yavé es nuestro escudo, De nuestro Rey, el Santo de Israel.

19 Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said, “I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.

En un tiempo hablaste en visión a tus santos. Dijiste: Di ayuda a uno que es poderoso. Exalté a uno escogido del pueblo.

20 I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,

Hallé a David mi esclavo. Lo ungí con mi aceite santo.

21 with whom my hand shall be established. My arm will also strengthen him.

Mi mano estará siempre con él. Mi brazo también lo fortalecerá.

22 No enemy will tax him. No wicked man will oppress him.

El enemigo no lo engañará, Ni el hijo del perverso lo afligirá.

23 I will beat down his adversaries before him, and strike those who hate him.

Porque Yo quebrantaré a sus adversarios delante de él, Y golpearé a los que lo aborrecen.

24 But my faithfulness and my loving kindness will be with him. In my name, his horn will be exalted.

Mi fidelidad y mi misericordia estarán con él, Y en mi Nombre será exaltado su poder.

25 I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.

Pondré también su mano sobre el mar, Y su mano derecha sobre los ríos.

26 He will call to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation!’

Él clamará a mi ʼEL: ¡Tú eres mi Padre, Mi ʼEL y la Roca de mi salvación!

27 I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

Yo también lo constituiré como primogénito, El más excelso de los reyes de la tierra.

28 I will keep my loving kindness for him forever more. My covenant will stand firm with him.

Para siempre le mantendré mi misericordia, Y mi Pacto con él será confirmado.

29 I will also make his offspring endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

Así estableceré su descendencia para siempre, Y su trono como los días del cielo.

30 If his children forsake my law, and do not walk in my ordinances;

Si sus hijos abandonan mi Ley, Y no andan en mis Ordenanzas,

31 if they break my statutes, and do not keep my commandments;

Si profanan mis Estatutos Y no guardan mis Mandamientos,

32 then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

Entonces castigaré con vara su transgresión Y con azotes su iniquidad.

33 But I will not completely take my loving kindness from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.

Pero no retiraré de él mi misericordia, Ni faltaré a mi fidelidad.

34 I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.

No violaré mi Pacto, Ni alteraré lo que pronunciaron mis labios.

35 Once I have sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.

Una vez juré por mi santidad, Y no mentiré a David:

36 His offspring will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me.

Su descendencia será para siempre, Y su trono como el sol delante de Mí.

37 It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.” (Selah)

Será establecido para siempre, como la luna, Testigo fiel en el firmamento. (Selah)

38 But you have rejected and spurned. You have been angry with your anointed.

Pero ahora Tú [lo] desechas y rechazas. Estás lleno de ira contra tu ungido.

39 You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have defiled his crown in the dust.

Rompiste el Pacto con tu esclavo. Profanaste su corona hasta la tierra.

40 You have broken down all his hedges. You have brought his strongholds to ruin.

Destruiste todos sus muros. Arruinaste sus fortalezas.

41 All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.

Todos los que pasan por el camino lo saquean. Es [objeto de] reproche para sus vecinos.

42 You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries. You have made all of his enemies rejoice.

Exaltaste la mano derecha de sus adversarios. Alegraste a todos sus enemigos.

43 Yes, you turn back the edge of his sword, and have not supported him in battle.

También embotaste el filo de su espada, Y no lo afirmaste en la batalla.

44 You have ended his splendor, and thrown his throne down to the ground.

Cesaste su esplendor Y echaste a tierra su trono.

45 You have shortened the days of his youth. You have covered him with shame. (Selah)

Acortaste los días de su juventud. Lo cubriste de vergüenza. (Selah)

46 How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? Will your wrath burn like fire?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh Yavé? ¿Te esconderás para siempre? ¿Arderá tu ira como fuego?

47 Remember how short my time is, for what vanity you have created all the children of men!

Recuerda cuál es la duración de mi vida. ¡Con qué vanidad creaste a todos los hijos de hombres!

48 What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol (Sheol h7585)? (Selah)

¿Cuál hombre vivirá sin sufrir muerte? ¿Puede él librar su alma del poder del Seol? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)

49 Lord, where are your former loving kindnesses, which you swore to David in your faithfulness?

Oh ʼAdonay, ¿dónde están sus primeras misericordias Que en tu fidelidad juraste a David?

50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the mighty peoples,

Acuérdate, oh ʼAdonay, del reproche a tus esclavos, Que llevo en mi seno de muchos pueblos.

51 With which your enemies have mocked, LORD, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.

Porque tus enemigos, oh Yavé, deshonraron Con lo cual reprocharon las pisadas de tu ungido.

52 Blessed be the LORD forever more. Amen, and Amen.

¡Bendito sea Yavé para siempre! Amén y amén.
