Psalms 47

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. Oh clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

Salmo, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, de' figliuoli di Core BATTETEVI a palme, o popoli tutti; Giubilate a Dio con voce di trionfo.

2 For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is a great King over all the earth.

Perciocchè il Signore [è] l'Altissimo, il Tremendo, Gran Re sopra tutta la terra.

3 He subdues nations under us, and peoples under our feet.

Egli ridurrà i popoli sotto noi, E la nazioni sotto i nostri piedi.

4 He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he loved. (Selah)

Egli ci ha scelta la nostra eredità, La gloria di Giacobbe, il quale egli ama. (Sela)

5 God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

Iddio è salito con giubilo, Il Signore [è salito] con suono di trombe.

6 Sing praises to God! Sing praises! Sing praises to our King! Sing praises!

Salmeggiate a Dio, salmeggiate; Salmeggiate al Re nostro, salmeggiate.

7 For God is the King of all the earth. Sing praises with understanding.

Perciocchè Iddio [è] Re di tutta la terra; Salmeggiate maestrevolmente

8 God reigns over the nations. God sits on his holy throne.

Iddio regna sopra le genti: Iddio siede sopra il trono della sua santità.

9 The princes of the peoples are gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God. He is greatly exalted!

I principi de' popoli si son raunati insieme; Il popolo dell'Iddio d'Abrahamo, Perciocchè a Dio [appartengono] gli scudi della terra; Egli è grandemente esaltato.
