Psalms 124

1 A Song of Ascents. By David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say,

၁ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါတို့ဘက်မှာ ရှိတော် မမူလျှင်ဟူသော စကားနှင့် ချီ၍၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးဆိုရ သောစကား ဟူမူကား၊

2 if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us,

၂ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါတို့ဘက်မှာ ရှိတော် မမူလျှင်၊ လူတို့သည် ငါတို့ရန်ဘက်၌ နေကြသောအခါ၊

3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,

၃အမျက်ထွက်၍ ငါတို့ကို အသက်နှင့်တကွ မျိုကြပြီတကား။

4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul.

၄ထိုအခါ ငါတို့ကို ရေသည်၊ လွှမ်းမိုး၍ စီးသော ရေသည် ငါတို့ဝိညာဉ်အပေါ်မှာ ကျော်သွားပြီ တကား။

5 Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

၅စော်ကားသော ရေတို့သည် ငါတို့အသက် ဝိညာဉ်အပေါ်မှာ ကျော်သွားကြပြီတကား။

6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

၆သူတို့သွားနှင့် ကိုက်ခဲရာဘို့ ငါတို့ကို အပ်တော် မမူသော ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မင်္ဂလာရှိတော်မူစေ သတည်း။

7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

၇ငှက်သည် မုဆိုးတို့၏ ကျော့ကွင်းထဲက လွတ် သကဲ့သို့၊ ငါတို့အသက်သည် လွတ်လျက်ရှိ၏။ ကျော့ကွင်း ပြတ်၍ ငါတို့သည် လွတ်ကြပြီ။

8 Our help is in the LORD’s name, who made heaven and earth.

၈ကောင်းကင်နှင့် မြေကြီးကို ဖန်ဆင်းတော် မူသော ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နာမတော်အားဖြင့်၊ ငါတို့သည် မစခြင်းကျေးဇူးကို ခံရကြသတည်း။
